About a month ago (or so), I watched the entire Talespin series. If you read the description of my previous drawing (in which I drew Kit Cloudkicker), then you'll know how I felt about the show... but one thing I did like about the show was the characters (for the most part, anyway... still don't know why Don Karnage is so popular... Admittedly, I thought Colonel Spicket was better).
Anyway, when I was watching the episode "Mach One For The Gipper" (one of the episodes not available on DVD), I saw a character whom I thought was pretty cool. Naturally, he's suppose to be your typical "I'm mean to the protagonist, therefore you should hate me" character, the type you'll see in all kinds of badly-written stories. And of course, at the end of the episodes, he gets his "Just rewards", because of just how garsh-darn mean he was. Never mind setting up a scenario in which the two find out that out of anger, their miscommunication and displeasure towards each other lead to all the shenanigans that happened, thus perhaps setting things straight in the end and earning each other's respects... Nahh, it's Disney! He's a bad guy, therefore humiliation (sometimes death, but that's only in the movies) is the only way! Great message we're sending to our kids, no? If there's a bully bothering you, humiliate him to the best of your abilities, because there's no other way! *Insert gigantic smiley face here*
Well, anyway... I thought the character was cool, so I decided to draw him. The picture didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, but they never do. As far as I am aware, this is the only fanart of him on DeviantArt (as of 4/25/2011)... which is sad, seeing how it's not a very good one... but hey, I tried. I'll perhaps draw him again one day, hopefully making a much better picture this time.
By the way... You know what's odd? His episode is not available on DVD, yet Ace is on the cover of the third disc in the second volume DVD box set. On the back of the third disc case is a picture of Baloo riding the rocket engine, also from this particular episode. Perhaps someone at Disney is a fan of Ace? I mean, surely they didn't run out of idea's to use as DVD covers, considering they had 27 episodes of idea's... Someone at Disney cares for Ace I suppose. lol
