Rendering different film styles

Question :

I know we're not allowed to use renders from other films for our characters here, and I understand why: this is a Spirit fansite, so the images therein should be related to the film/franchise.

What I'd like to know is whether we can use renders from other movies/cartoons for official characters. Say, for example, we wanted to make an image of Spirit in the style of Bullseye from Toy Story. The style of the render/image is from another franchise, but the character is from this franchise.

I ask because I've seen a meme on deviantart that encourages the artist to draw their personnal character in the style of horses from various other media: Spirit, Bullseye, Pegasus from Hercules, My Little Pony etc etc and I though it might be nice to do something similar with some of the official Spirit characters. But I'd like to know whether that's actually allowed here. If not, I don't want to go to all that effort for nothing ^^;

Best answer :

If you draw in this style or modify Spirit screenshots then it's ok, but you can't recolour images with characters from other movies.

That's fair enough, I understand ^^ Just thought I'd ask. I didn't want to go to all the effort of making the recolours only to have them deactivated.

Thanks for answering so promptly ^^
