There are several backgrounds to choose from on the shoutbox already, but I thought it would be fun if users could submit their own backgrounds for themselves and others to use! 

To create a shoutbox background, you will need a program such as Photoshop (which isn't free), Gimp or Paint.Net. Once you have, or if you have one of these already, open up the program and make a new document. The size of the shoutbox is 670x300, so be sure you plug in those exact dimensions! 

Once you have that taken care of, the rest is up to you! You don't have to do exactly what I did. In fact, I encourage you to be creative and try something else. Just be sure that the background isn't too busy, otherwise it could made reading the text in the shoutbox difficult. 

Rules:

- You may submit up to three images

- No artwork, not even your own! (you may use cel art from the film itself)

- No watermarks

- Don't PM me your backgrounds (send them here or to your image gallery)

- Stay within the site rules!

- I will NOT accept any new backgrounds after June 9th. 

Note:

Any backgrounds submitted to this project will be saved and uploaded to the site if they meet the requirements! If I do happen to reject your image (which isn't anything personal), I'll give you a chance to fix or re-do the background within the next month.

Updates: Seeing as how the shoubox backgrounds are shared with the French side, I asked for a news to be posted about this project over there (which is now up). I've also extended the project for another week to allow for more time.

Thanks for the submission, NightCat! I added your background to the site and it looks great! The black & white, I find, draws my attention to the shoutbox posts. The vignette effect helps too.
