Another entry for Malta's contest to create the best family picture.
Kati had a knack for swimming; and as soon as her little brother Takota was old enough, she was keen to teach him how to swim too. One day during the summer months, when the water was low in the river that ran through the Isu Keeney territory, Kati was finally allowed to take Takota for his first swimming lesson. They were both still quite young, so their aunt Emillia came along to keep an eye on them.
With Takota on her back, Kati did doggy-paddle circles in the river. Her brother laughed in excitement.
'I'll have you swimming on your own in no time, Tak!' exclaimed Kati. She then looked over at Aunt Emellia, sitting on the riverbank. 'Would you like to try swimming, Auntie?'
Emillia smiled - her eyes showed deep reluctance as they gazed upon the water, which looked cold however hot the weather was. 'No thank you, dears.'
'Oh, please, Auntie, please!' Takota said. 'It's so much fun!'
'Yes, please!' urged Kati.
After non-stop begging, the cubs managed to persuade their aunt to take a dip.
Doing more laps in the water with Takota astride, Kati turned to Emillia. 'Are you okay, Auntie?'
'F-f-fine,' shuddered Emillia, sitting in the shallows shivering her fur off and biting her lip. 'J-just don't s-splash, p-p-please.'
