"Loot, Utula!" Kabi called to an elderly lioness. "I hunted!"
"What?" Ukula walked over to Kabi and looked down at the young cub's paws. A millipede crawled out from under them.
"Oh no! It's detting away!" Kabi quickly covered the millipede with her paws again. "Tan we eat it?"
"Of course not, Kabi!" Ukula exclaimed. "Lions can't eat millipedes!"
"We tan't?" Kabi looked down at her paws, and reluctantly let her prey crawl away. "What do lions hunt den?"
"Well, gazelles, and zebras, and other animals like that."
Kabi looked a little sad. "Dose animals are bid. Tould I tatch one?"
Ukula lifted Kabi and placed her on her back. "Of course not. You're still too young hunt."
Kabi crawled onto Ukula's head and looked down at her face hopefully. "Tan someday I hunt, Utula?"
Ukula, resting beneath a tree, smiled fondly at this memory. Her thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of footsteps, and then a voice saying, "Ukula?"
She turned to a young adult lioness.
"Oh, were you sleeping?" The lioness asked worriedly. "I'm so sorry if I woke you."
"It's fine, Kabi." She stood up. "Did you want to tell me something?"
"Oh, yes! I just wanted to let you know that we were out hunting and I've caught dinner for you."
Ukula smiled down at the lioness she had raised. Kabi was still short, she was still far from being the most intelligent lioness, or prettiest, but despite all these things, Ukula couldn't be more proud of her.
So far I've only drawn Kabi as a cub, so I wanted to see what she'd look like as an adult :)
I started this a while ago, and had been going to finish it for Malta's contest, but in the end I didn't have time.
Sorry if it's hard to understand what Kabi is saying when she's a cub. She replaces G and TH with D, and K\C with T.
