The Lion King characters

Kion is the son of Simba and Nala and Kiara's little brother. He's a character form a Disney Junior show called Lion Guard.

Kion starts of as a playful cub, free from any responisibilities. When his friend Bunga gets into trouble with hyenas, Kion discovers to have power of Road of the Elders. Kion becomes a new leader of the Lion Guard, the most powerfull team of animals in the Pridelands, defending the Circle of Life. Kion is tasked to assemble the bravest, strongest, fastest and keenest of sight. However, opposing the tradition, instead of lions, he picks his friends, a honey badger, hippo, cheetah and egret. Simba is disapointed with Kion's choice and tells him to threat his new role seriously and gather a real Lion Guard made of lions. However after the they defeats the hyenas and rescues Kiara from the stampede, Simba finally accepts Kion's team as the new Lion Guard.

Bunga is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

He a good friend of Kion. He's a fearless honey badger, but he is also very careless which often gets him and Kion in trouble. He is the first one to be assembled to the new Lion Guard as the bravest.

Bunga lives with his adopted uncles Timon and Pumbaa.

Fuli is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Fuli is a friend of Kion and a member of his group called Lion Guard. She is the fastest. She's confident and rather arrogant, but she's always willing to help her friends in need.

Ono is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Ono is a friend of Kion and a member of his group called Lion Guard. He is the keenest of sight, and being able to fly and observe everything from above is making him an excellent tracker.

In the begining of season 3 Ono saves Bunga from falling tinto a volcano but loses his sight from exposing too much to a poisonous volcano ash. Anga replaces Ono as The Keenest Of Sight, but due to Ono's great memory and knowledge, Kion names him The Smartest.

Beshte is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Beshte is a friend of Kion and a member of his group called Lion Guard. He was assembled as the strongest. Beshte lives with his Dad and the rest of hippos in Big Springs.

He's easygoing, kind and helpful. His kind nature makes him easy to befreind other animals, including Mtoto and Ajabu. Beshte's catchphrase is "Twende kiboko" which means "Go hippopotamus" in Swahili.

Simba's best friend from childhood, she is said to become his wife one day. Intelligent and agile in single combat, she always wins the fight against Simba, which also allow him to recognized her a few years later.

* Nala's original name was Nadra.

* Originally, Nala had a younger brother named Mheetu.

Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala. Stubborn as her father was when he was young lion, she disobeys his orders, which will allow her to venture into the Forbidden Lands and get to know Kovu.

She later meets him again, when Kovu "saves" her from the forest fire

Rafiki est un sage mandrill qui chronique les évènements de la terre des lions dans son baobab. Il a d'ailleurs présenté deux générations de naissances royales. Grand ami de Mufasa, il sera particulièrement attristé par sa mort. Quelques temps plus tard, il retrouvera Simba et le persuadera de revendiquer sa place en tant que roi légitime.

Great and loved king, Mufasa is intelligent, sensitive and very courageous. By morning walks and evening tales, he will try to instill justice, prudence and reflection in Simba.

Makuu is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

He's appears in some non-speaking moments in Lion Guard Return Of The Roar movie.

In the episode "Rise of Makuu", he is one of the crocodiles from Pua's float. Makuu challenges Pua to a brawl and wins, becoming a new leader of the crocodiles. Makuu leads his float into Big Springs, making the hippos leave and causing a great mess among the animals in the Pridelands. He refuses to leave after being asked by Kion, but when Kion demonstrates him Roar of the Elders, Makuu backs down and leaves.

Pua is an old crocodile from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Pua appears in the episode "Rise of Makuu" as a leader of the crocodiles in Pridelands. He's wise, calm and rescpects the circle of life. He is challenged to a brawl by a young crocodile named Makuu. Pua loses the fight and his position, and is exiled from his float.

When Makuu causes trouble in Pridelands, Kion turn to Pua for advice. Pua tells Kion not to fight against Makuu, and he still hopes that will become a good leader.

Janja is a character from upcoming Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Janja is the leader of hyenas from the Outlands. He is described as a "cunning hyena".

Chungu is one of Janja's henchmen. Chungu and Chezi are ordered by Janja to catch the honey badger who came to the outlands, but they are stoped by Kion who uses his roar to defeat them.

Cheezi is one of Janja's henchmen. Chungu and Cheezi are ordered by Janja to catch the honey badger who came to the outlands, but they are stoped by Kion who uses his roar to defeat them.

He bears a strong resemblance to Ed from the first Lion King movie.

Zuri is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

According to Zuri's voice actress, Madison Pettis, Zuri is "adorable and spunky and a little fashionista and a little bit of a diva." She's a friend of Kiara. She was about to track gazelles with Kiara and Tiifu, but she got her claws stuck in a tree log. In attempt to rescue her, Pumbaa accidentaly made her broke her claw. Zuri wa taken back to Pride Rock.

Tiifu is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

She is first seen in Lion Guard: Return of the Roar. She's a friend of Kiara. When tracking gazelles with Kiara and Tiifu witness hyenas attacking the gazelles. Tiifu rushes to Pride Rock for help. She comes back with Simba and Nala to see Lion Guard rescue Kiara from the stampede and defeat hyenas.

Mzingo is a character from upcoming Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

He's a vulture that works for Janja and the hyenas. He reports to Janja about new Lion Guard. Later he is seen with hyenas during the attack on Pridelands, but is defeated by Ono.

Jasiri is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Jasiri is understanding and unlike hyenas in Janja's clan she respects the Circle of Life. She meets Kion in the Outlands and befriends him, showing that they are not so different after all. When Kion and Jasiri are about to part ways, Jasiri is attacked by Janja's clan and Kion returns to help her.

Twiga is a female giraffe that appears in the Lion Guard.

She can be seen in several episodes of the show, often with other giraffes. She performs with Basi and Mbuni at Kupatana celebration.

Mwoga is a vulture that appears in The Lion Guard TV series.

He's a vulture from Mzingo's flock. He appears in "Eye Of The Beholder" episode when an injured Ono bumps into him. He reports to Mzingo about Ono's hurt vision.

Mwoga is seen among Mzingo's flock in later episodes.

Mbeya is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He is an old rhinoceros who claims to know Pridelands "like the back of his horn". He first appears in the episode "Never Judge a Hyena by Its Spots" when Beshte is supposed to ask Mbeya for directions, but instwead he listens to old rhino's stories.

He reappears in the episode "The Kupatana Celebration" when Lion guards helps him to get out of the mud.

Thurston is a zebra living in the Pridelands. He isn't particularly clever and is easily frightened.

Thurston was approached by The Lion Guard asking where flat ridge rock was, to which he didn't know the answer. He then proceeded by asking where he was headed, to which Ono replied he was heading back to his herd. Thurston also gains advice from Bunga the Wise and refuses to move for Ono until he is scared by the egret.

Zira est la mère de Kovu, Vitani et Nuka. Elle aurait vraisemblablement eu une liaison avec Scar, ce qui expliquerait sa haine envers Simba pour l'avoir supposément tué. Détestant celui-ci au plus haut point, elle entraînera Kovu afin d'arriver à ses fins: Mettre fin au règne de Simba et reconquérir la Terre des Lions.

Nuka is the son of Zira and Kovu's and Vitani's brother. He is particularly jealous of the fact that Kovu, not him, has been chosen to avenge Scar. He will try to earn the favor of his mother and prove that he too could become king. Scratching constantly, he has termite problems - which have also plagued him much of his mane.

Vitani est la fille de Zira, et la soeur de Nuka et Kovu. Kovu is the son of Zira, and is Scar's adopted son.

From an early age he is trained by Zira to follow in the footsteps of Scar to avenge his death by killing Simba. But his plan does not run as expected when he meets Simba's daughter, Kiara.

* At first, Kovu had to be Scar's biological son and his first designs looked more like Scar.

Reirei is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard. She appears in the episode "The Kupatana Celebration".

Reirei is a female jackal, Goigoi's mate and mother of many pups, including Dogo. She instructs Dogo to trick Lion Guard into welcoming him to Pridelands and when he does, Reirei and the rest of her familly sneaks after him. The jackals cause many trouble to pridelanders, but Reirei can always talk them out of it, pretending that they had good intentions, but they just didn't know how to act. She tries to gain Lion Guard's trust and the jackal familly is even welcomed to attend Kupatana.

At Kupatana, Reirei and her familly begin attacking the Pridelanders. Reirei is stoped by Kion and the jackals are eventualy defeated and chased back to the Outlands.

Goigoi is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard. He appears in the episode "The Kupatana Celebration".

He's a male jackal, Reirei's mate and father of Dogo. When Dogo is welcomed into Pridelands, Goigoi sneaks after him. Goigoi is rather slow and lazy, he lets his mate do all the planning and talking.

At Kupatana, Goigoi and his familly begin attacking the Pridelanders. Goigoi is stoped by Fuli and the jackals are eventualy defeated and chased back to the Outlands.

Dogo is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard. He appears in the episode "The Kupatana Celebration".

He's a small jackal, one of many sons or Reirei and Goigoi. As instructed by his mother, he tricks Lion Guard to welcome him into pridelands. Once in Pridelands, Dogo calls for his familly and despide causing many troubles, the jackals pretend to have good intentions, so they gain Lion Guard's trust and are even invited to attend Kupatana.

At Kupatana, Dogo joins his parents in attacking the animals, but they are eventualy defeated and chased back to the Outlands.

Mtoto is character that appears in The Lion Guard TV series.

He's a baby elephant that appears in several Lion Guard episodes. He can be seen first in "Bunga The Wise". He's following Bunga around and fanning him with a big leaf, but his first speaking role comes in the episode "Follow that Hippo!". While Mtoto and his friends are playing "Lion Guard" they are unintetnionaly causing some trouble in Pridelands by making other animals believe that hyena attack from their play was real.

After meeting the real Lion Guard, Beshte invites Mtoto to their training, but Mtoto doesn't do very good at the training tasks which makes him very upset. As Beshte walks him home, he encourages Mtoto to believe in himself though the song "Hero inside".

When Mtoto return to his freinds, they begin playing Lion Guard again, but this time they alert the hyenas. Beshte comes to Mtoto's rescue and together they manage to fight off hyenas and crocodiles.

In the end Mtoto and his freinds recieve a muddy Lion Guard mark from Kion. Mtoto approaches Beshte claiming that he's his hero, to which Beshte replies that Mtoto is his.

Kambuni is character that appears in The Lion Guard TV series.

She's a baby ostich that is one of Mtoto's friends. She appears in the in the episode "Follow that Hippo!". While Kambuni and his friends are playing "Lion Guard" they are unintetnionaly causing some trouble in Pridelands by making other animals believe that hyena attack from their play was real.

Later, they begin playing Lion Guard again, but this time they alert the hyenas. Kambuni, Shauku, Gumba and Kwato manage to excape, and alarm other animals about hyenas still chasing Mtoto.

Shauku is character that appears in The Lion Guard TV series.

He's a baby mongoose thet is one of Mtoto's friends. He appears in the in the episode "Follow that Hippo!". While Shauku and his friends are playing "Lion Guard" they are unintetnionaly causing some trouble in Pridelands by making other animals believe that hyena attack from their play was real.

Muhimu is a character from the show Lion Guard.

She appears in the episode "The Mbali Fields Migration". She is a leader of zebra herd that shared the grazing grounds with a herd of gazelles led by her friend Swala, but now the two hers were fighting due to a lack of grass for them to eat. he lion Guard decides the two herds need to move to Mbali Fields.

When traveling though the canyon, the herds became hungry and fatigued. When Muhimu sees Mbali fields on teh horizon, she recklessly rushes down the canyon, making all the zebras and gazelles go after her, and they cause avalanche that blocks the path.

As the migration takes another road, a storm erupts, flooding the path. Muhimu almost drowns, but is saved by Bunga.
The herds are complaining about Kion's leadership, but Muhimu speaks in Kion's defense, telling them that it was her fault for starting the stampede and that she trust Kion to get them all safely to Mbali fields.


The migration has to take pats though the Outlands, but soon after, Muhimu enters labor. Kion and Bunga stay with Muhimu while the reat of the Guard go ahead to lead thest of the herd out. Swala and some of the zebras stay behind to help Muhimu. Soon she gives birth to a son. However, the ounds draw hyenas' attention. They hope for zebras to panic and scatter, but Muhimu orders them to stay together Janja approaches the Muhimu, but Muhimu's son kicks Janja and throws him away

After defeating hyenas Muhimu, Swala and the remaining zebras make their way to Mbali fields.

Hamu is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He's a baby zebra that appears in the episode "The Mbali Fields Migration". 

Hamu is a son of zebra herd leader Muhimu. Muhimu gives birth to her son in the Outlands, during her herd's travel to Mbali fields. However, the sounds of newborn zebra foal draw hyenas' attention. Janja and his clan attack the group, but when Janja approaches Muhimu, Muhimu's son kicks Janja  in the faceand throws him away, much to Bunga's appciation.

Hamu comes with the rest of the group to Mbali fields where he lives now with his mother and Swala's gazelle herd.

Hamu is set to appear in Season 2 episode "babysitter Bunga"

Tamaa is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He is a drongo bird that apepars in the episode "The Call of the Drongo". The Lion Guard meeds him after he starles some animals in Pridelands, pretending to be several predators to chase them off and steal their food. Tamaa claims his only talent is imitating others and she's always been "hunting" this way, but agrees to stop using his talent to scare and steal from other animals.

However, after being unsuccesful in getting food on his own, he mimics Janja again to scare off a mouse, but it overheard by real hyenas. Janja captures Tamaa and decides to use his voice to mimic Kion and trick impala herd into the Outlands.

In the Outlands, Tamaa manages to escape by imitating Janja, which makes Cheezi let him go, but he decides to go back and help the impalas. He mimics voices of Lion Guard, scaring the hyenas untill the real Lion Guard appears.

After this event Tamaa promises to only use his talent for good.

Ma Tembo is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Ma Tembo is a daughter of Simba's good friend, the elephant Aminifu. She is is seen at her father's funeral and she listens to Simba making mistake in elephantese, but she turns it into a joke, rememberting good times with her father, who always used to make everyone laugh.

Ajabu is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He appears in the episode "The Imaginary Okapi". He's an okapi form faraway land who came all the way to Pridelands after being chased by a leopard named Makucha.

He's a master in hiding. He befriends Beshte, who shows him around the Pridelands, but anytime he hears someone else, he hides, making the rest of the Guard think that Ajabu is Beshte's imaginary friend.

Later Ajabu tries to hide from Makucha among Thurston's herd of zebras, but the leopard finds him anyway.  Ajabu flees, but he can't lose Makucha. Fortunately Lion Guard arrive and fight him off.

Makucha leaves and while Ajabu recieves kin's premission to stay in Pridelands as long as he likes.



Voice actor : Ron Funches



Makucha is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He appears in the episode "The Imaginary Okapi". He's a leopard form faraway land who came to Pridelands chasing after okapi named Ajabu.

Makucha is first seen hunting gazelles. It turns out leopards are not native to Pridelands and none of the animals know that they are predators and have to be feared. The Lion Guard orders Makucha to leave, but he manages to escape them.

Later Makucha finds Ajabu hiding among the herd of zebras. Before he's about to kill Ajabu, Lion Guard arrive and fight him off. Makucha leaves, claiming he's going to seek easier prey eslewhere.

Badili is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He appears in the episode "Trouble with Galagos". After another leopard chased him off his teritory, Badili moved into a tree that belonged to galagos, causing them to panic and call the Lion guard for help.

When confronted by the Lion Guard, Badili says he lives in Mirihi Forest, but is afraid to tell them about Mapigano and makes several excused not to go home, but Lion Guard eventually escorts him to make sure he left galagos' tree.

Mapigano leaps at Badili, asking why he came back when it's no longer his turf and starts to mock him. The Guard watches them from the distance and when they realize Badili won't stand up for himself, they chase Mapigano off. Badili is happy and thanks the Lion Guard, however, the nest day Mapigano comes back and without Lion Guard to scare him off, he takes back Badili's turf to himself, causing Badili to flee to galagos' tree again.

Badili is glad to see the Lion Guard, and asks Kion if they are going to get rid of Mapigano again, but Kion refuses, claiming that Badili has to learn how to stand up for himself. Kion agrees to teach him how to be fierce, Fuli how to be fast, Bunga how to be brave, and Beshte how to be strong. Ono agrees to help him keeping an eye contact. 

After the traning Badili admits he's ready to come back and confront Mapigano. They return to Mihiri Forest Badili wakes Mapigano up. The other leopard is suprised that there is no Lion Guard to fight him this time and starts mocking and making fun of Badili like he did before. Badili starts to break under the pressure, but he soon remembers his training with the Lion Guard and regains his confidence. Badili informs Mapigano him that he is not scared of him anymore. Mapigano starts to back away and eventually flees and Badili regains his turf.

Laini is a character from the show Lion Guard.

She is a galago who was forced out of her teritory by a leopard. She and her companions run to Lion Guard for help. The galagos remain at Hakuna Matata the falls until they are frightened away by Pumbaa. Laini asks Kion if they can accopmany them and Kion agrees.

The hest day after The Lion Guard get rid of Badili sleeping on galago's tree, Laini and her freinds rush to the Lion Guard again and inform them that Badili has returned. The Lion Guard take care of Badili again and galagos are finally able to return their home in peace.



Voice actor : Meghan Strange



Nala's father is an official character from Disney Junior show The Lion Guard.

He is featured in an episode "Paintings and Predictions" and is only seen as a cub from cave painting.

His look in the paiting is very similar to Kion, with golden fur and red mane, whuch made Kion's friends believe it's him. The painting illustrated an even from the past. Nala's father, as a cub, climbed on a high tree and fell, but Lion Guard of his time saved him.

Mbuni is a cheerful ostrich living in the Pridelands.

She is scared of hyenas and takes advice from Bunga, which goes horribly wrong. She is also one of the singers in the Kupatana celebrations, although Zazu did have to correct her in the rehearsal for her pronunciation.

Muhanga is a female aardvark featured in The Lion Guard.

She can be first seen during the song 'Duties of the king" when Simba attends her wedding.

In Kupatana Celebration, aardvark dens are invaded by Dogo and his siblings. Muhanga and muhangus are seen arguing with jackals.

Muhangus is a male aardvark featured in The Lion Guard.

He can be first seen during the song 'Duties of the king" when Simba attends his wedding.

Basi is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

Basi is the father of Beshte. He lives with his the rest of hippos in Big Springs.

Haya is a character from the show Lion Guard. He appears in the episode "Too Many Termites".

He is one of the aardwolves, who were mistakely chased away from Pridelands by Kion. Haya and his pack hide in the Outlands and when they hear Lion Guard, they think they came to mock them more, so they flee into an empty den near the one where Jackal familly lives.

At first he's glad to hear that Reirei and Goigoi don't like Lion Guard neither. The aardwolves slowly start trusting their new neighbours, but when Mjomba returns and explains that Lion Guard wants them back in Pridelands, the jackals block the cave, and start chasing the pack.

The Lion Guard comes to the rescue, chaing the jackals away then take aardwolf pack back home.

Ogopa is a character from the show Lion Guard. He appears in the episode "Too Many Termites".

She is one of the aardwolves, who were mistakely chased away from Pridelands by Kion. She seems to be the most cheerful of the back, but also too trusting and easily fooled. Ogopa and her pack hide in the Outlands and when they hear Lion Guard, they think they came to mock them more, so they flee into an empty den near the one where Jackal familly lives.

Mjomba is a character from the show Lion Guard. He appears in the episode "Too Many Termites".

He is one of the aardwolves, who were mistakely chased away from Pridelands by Kion. Mjomba and his pack hide in the Outlands and when they hear Lion Guard, they think they came to mock them more, so they flee, but Mjomba gets separated from the pack and runs towards a cliff. He is saved by Bunga, and then Lion Guard talks to him, explaining the mistake and asking him to convince other aardwolves to come back home. Mjomba agrees, hearing that Pridalends are now full of termites.

He finds his pack hiding in a den with Reirei and Goigoi. He explains that Lion Guard wants them back in Pridelands and the pack cheers, but the jackals block the cave, and start chasing the pack to eat them.

The Lion Guard comes to the rescue, chaing the jackals away then they take aardwolf pack back home.

Mapigano is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He appears in the episode "Trouble with Galagos". Mapigano forces another leopard, Badili, out of his teritory, causing him to moved into Pridelands and alarm the Lion Guard.

However Badili has no choice but return to Mihiri Forest as the Lion Guard orders him to. Mapigano leaps at Badili, asking why he came back when it's no longer his turf and starts to mock him. The Guard watches Mapigano bullying Badili and call him names while Badili is too frightened to stand up for himself. They  chase Mapigano off, but the next day Mapigano comes back and without Lion Guard todefend Badili he takes back Badili's turf to himself, causing him to flee to galagos' tree again.

Kion claims that getting rid of Mapigano wasn't the right choice to do, and the Lion Guard start treining with Badili to teach him how to stand up for himself and chase away Mapigano on his own.

After the traning Badili comes back and confronts Mapigano. At first Mapigano laughs and bullies Badili like he always did, claiming that without Lion Guard, Badili will be too scared to fight him. Badili starts to break under the pressure, but he soon remembers his training with the Lion Guard and regains his confidence. Badili informs Mapigano him that he is not scared of him anymore. Mapigano starts to back away and eventually flees and Badili regains his turf.

Shingo is a character from the show Lion Guard.

He appears in the episode "Trouble with galagos". When Lion Guard is on their way to help galagos chase off a leopard from their home, they are stoped by Shingo, who got his head stuck between branches of acacia tree.

It is possible that Shingo is the same giraffe that appeared in the other episodes, but all other giraffes (except Twiga) look identical.

Swala is a character from the show Lion Guard.

She appears in the episode "The Mbali Fields Migration". She is a leader of gazelle herd that shared the grazing grounds with a herd of zebras led by her friend Muhimu, but now the two hers were fighting due to a lack of grass for them to eat. The lion Guard decides the two herds need to move to Mbali Fields.

When traveling though the canyon, the herds became hungry and fatigued. When Muhimu sees Mbali fields on the horizon, she recklessly rushes down the canyon, making Swala and her herd go after her, and cause avalanche that blocks the path.

As the migration takes another road, a storm erupts, flooding the path. Sawla is taken by a strong current, but Kion saves her.
The herds are tired and impatient and Swala is complaining about Kion's leadership, but Muhimu speaks in Kion's defense and Swala decides to trust Kion again.


The migration has to take pats though the Outlands, but soon after, Muhimu enters labor. Kion and Bunga stay with her and Swala and some of the zebras also stay behind to help Muhimu. When the animals draw hyenas' attention, Swala is protecting her frend and her newborn son.

After defeating hyenas Muhimu, Swala and the remaining zebras make their way to Mbali fields.

Ushari is a character from Disney Junior show Lion Guard.

He's appears in a non-speaking moment in Lion Guard Return Of The Roar movie. When he's hit by Bunga's baobab ball.

In the episode "Rise of Makuu" he attempts to eat the hyrax that just got rescued by Lion Guard, but Bunga stops him and tosses him at the tree.



Voice actor : Christian Slater



Wema is a hyena cub from The Lion Guard. She is the sister of Tunu, and a member of Jasiri's clan. She appeared in the episode "Lions of the Outlands".

Wema is first seen playing with her brother, Tunu, and Jasiri's sister, Madoa. She and her brother then hide from Kion, because the only lions they've ever seen are bad ones. Wema is later seen playing with Tunu again, and though Kion helped them get their watering hole back, they are still scared of him.

Vuruga Vuruga is a character from The Lion Guard. She's the leader of a herd of buffalo.
