Lion King remake to crossover with Star Wars!

Written by Karlamon :

Disney is well underway in making a live-action/CGI remake of The Lion King, and it has just been announced by the Mouse House that there will be an interesting twist. It turns out this incarnation will be crossing over with the Star Wars universe!

Mufasa and Darth Vader[Disney/Lucasfilm]

The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm made the surprise announcement that it’ll be combining two of their biggest franchises into one epic feature. Sources report that the massive box office success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and the recent Disney live-action remakes convinced Disney that audiences would love to see two nostalgic franchises together.

Not much is known yet, but James Earl Jones is in talks to reprise both of his iconic movie roles: The wise king Mufasa, and the evil Darth Vader. So presumably this spinoff takes place sometime during the original trilogy. Star Wars creator George Lucas will return to supervise the CGI effects, and hopes to bring back fan-favourite Jar Jar Binks for an important role.

Does this also mean we’ll eventually see Elsa of Frozen joining The Avengers? The possibilities are endless at Disney!

*sigh* How desperate do you have to be to crossover two film franchises that have absolutely nothing in common? :icon297:
