Name: Ramses (A pharaoh in Egypt)
Species: African lion
Story: Not much is known about his background, but Ramses was born with one older brother, and the two left their birth home at a rather young age. They went on their separate ways, promising each other they would meet again some day. Ramses dreamed of starting a pride of his own, and it wasn't long before he found a small piece of land in which he thought he would start his pride. Another young rogue had his eyes set on the same territory, so the two lions fought, and Ramses ended up defeated and badly wounded. Swallowing his defeat, he retreated to a small oasis to wait for his wounds to heal, and when he had recovered, he continued his search for a territory of his own. Time passed, and Ramses was now a full grown adult, when he finally won himself a small territory by defeating its old leader. After a while, he earned the pride's trust and was acknowledged as the new leader. Ramses was very happy, he enjoyed the love and respect of his pride, but still he couldn't help but feeling a little empty. He didn't have a mate to rule along side of him, and he felt rather alone, but his life would soon take an unexpected turn. Ramses discovered that his big brother Jumaane lived with a neighbor pride not all that far away from his territory, and one day, Jumaane did in fact come to visit him. The two brothers were thrilled to see each other again, but it soon turned out that Jumaane had a problem: The pride he lived in was in very poor conditions, there was little water and almost no prey, and he feared that his young son might not survive under those circumstanses. Jumaane then asked Ramses for a very surprising favor, if his young son Mchumba could come to live with his pride where he could have a better chance of making it into adulthood. Ramses was rather hesitant at first, but seeing how desperate his brother was, he then agreed. So, Mchumba was brought to Ramses's pride by his parents, who said a tearful goodbye to their son and left him in his uncle's trusted care. Ramses swore to his brother that he would take best possible care of the young cub, and a close bond was formed between Ramses and Mchumba. Ramses soon understood what he had been missing in his life all along, he loved Mchumba as if he was his own son and taught him everything he needed to know about one day making it on his own. Tthe two had many walks around the lands, but as Mchumba got older, he became a little reckless and mischevious and often got into trouble. Ramses had to have many talks with him, he tended not to be too strict but sometimes it was required. He was sure it was just a teenage phase, and that Mchumba would calm down eventually. Finally, Mchumba grew into a healthy adult, and told his uncle that he wanted to leave to find a life of his own. Ramses was both surprised and sad, but he understood Mchumba's will to explore and maybe find a place of his own, just like he did when he was young.
