How Scar's pride of Outlanders possibly came to be . . .
Okay, okay. We all know that after Mufasa died, his brother, Scar (AKA Taka) took over the throne. Also, we know, thanks to TLK2, that Scar had lion followers and possibly a lead mate (Zira).
The only way this is possible is if his lionesses, the Outlanders, were originally from the pride that lived at Pride Rock!
I mean, when you think about it, it kind of makes sense:
- From what the movies show, there were no other prides nearby (well, they weren't shown anyway).
- While he was king, Scar had the control of all of the lionesses, meaning he had enough time to mate with as many females that he wanted (just like real male lions would do), to make sure that, in case something happened to him, he would have an immediate heir to the throne.
(IMO, this is probably how Nuka and Vitani came to be. No one is sure how Kovu truly became the heir when he was supposedly the 'last born' before their exile from the Pridelands.)
I mean, that would give Simba more of a reason to exile those that opposed him to the Outlands - for following Scar's rule.
It was a long period of time between Mufasa's death and the reuniting of Simba and Nala, which gives Scar lots of time to reproduce cubs with his blood in them, since most of the lionesses were out hunting, the hyenas were eating, and possibly there was a couple of females that were caring for cubs, even if they were the spawn of Scar.
I don't think that Scar knew of his 'followers' until after he took over Pride Rock, but before the 'Be Prepared' song in TLK, he did say he was 'surrounded by idiots' (meaning the hyenas) . . . if I remember correctly; I'm guessing he didn't like the hyenas that much, unless they did what he ordered.
This would give him more of a reason to try and convert lionesses to his side and make cubs, forming his own pride to help order around the still loyal lionesses (like Sarabi, Sarafina, and Nala). If there were any other lionesses that didn't live at Pride Rock, the Scar-loyal lionesses possibly forced them to join their pact of loyalty to King Scar.
In conclusion, it is unknown how the Outlanders really came to be, but this way makes the most sense. If Scar was so much of a lion, he would be forceful into making the lionesses his own, destroying all things that were not his own (mainly cubs) and weakening those that defied his rule.
