Important Facts :
*The Disney company denies ever having prior knowledge of the Japanese lion Kimba before making the Lion King Movie. If they had outright admitted that Kimba was the inspiration for Simba they would probably have to pay the owner royalties. There were some legal battles, but one of the Japanese companies that had rights to it went bankrupt so not much could be done.
*In early production stages, Simba was white.
*The rights to Kimba the White Lion were tied up in legal battles for many years, beginning when the original production company, Mushi Productions, went bankrupt in 1973. The US contract to the show ran out in 1978. Nobody had the US rights to it from 1978 until 2000. (However, there was some sort of breakthrough in the early 90s that led to the 1993 production of a new English-language version of Kimba that has been shown around the world, but not in the U.S.)
*The Disney corporate stance, that none of Disney's people knew of Kimba before the movie was released, has been exposed as untrue.
*There was a time line diffrence , 1965 , 1994. But ! I do recal after watching the first seson of pokemon on vhs watching a comecial for 'Kimba , The White Lion' So Disney could have seen it.
* I heard some rumors that Disney was right in the thick of the battle to obtain rights to Kimba . I am not sure if that is true.
*Kimba was comming to The U.S.A in 1993 but was delayed.
*A member of Dinsey once wore a Kimba costum to a party **What an Idoit***
*During planning sessions for The Lion King, Simba started out as a white lion until one of the animators spoke up: "Not even OUR lawyers are THAT good!" Maybe so, but notice how both characters have a tuft of hair in the middle of their foreheads, and the very unusual dark ear rim. That alone shows how Kimba is the direct predecessor of Simba.
My opoins : Yeah, Dinsey took it, The animation is alike, There are too many simlair sense to be a mestake, Dinsey most likely took it.
And they didn't give any credit to the owner of Kimba .
"There is no doubt in my mind
that The Lion King is a copy of Kimba."

"Animation buffs believe Disney ripped off Kimba to create The Lion King. Disney insists similarities... are coincidence. If anything supports Disney's argument, it's the depth of the Japanese show. The Kimba episodes deal with justice and morality, never presuming children deserve only lightentertainment." --PETER HONG, Los Angeles Times, May 19, 2002
Africa, mid-20th century: In the face of the encroachment of mankind, a white lion, Panja, seeks to give all wild animals a safe haven, free from fear. And, to a very large degree, he is successful. His mistake is to steal the cattle from a near by village, as they had no other food.A professional hunter, Viper Snakely, known as Ham Egg in the original Japanese, is called in to stop these raids. He avoids directly attacking Panja — instead, Ham Egg records the sounds of Panja and uses that as bait to trap his mate, Eliza, who then becomes bait in a trap for Panja. Panja is killed for his hide, and the pregnant Eliza is put on a ship, destined for a zoo.Leo (Kimba in the English-language version) is born on the circus train. Eliza teaches him his father's ideals. As a huge storm approaches, she urges Leo out to leave through the bars of her cage. The storm wrecks the circus train, leaving Leo floundering in the ocean. The fish help him to survive and learn to swim. As he begins to despair, the stars in the sky form his mother, and she encourages him with loving guidance. Guided by butterflies, Leo makes it back to land.Leo/Kimba lands far from his ancestral home and is found and cared for by some people. Leo learns the advantages of human culture, and he makes up his mind that when he returns to his wild home he will bring civilized culture to the jungle and stand for peace like his father. The show follows Leo/Kimba's life after he returns to the wild (still a young cub) and shows his learning and growing during the next year. One thing Leo soon learns is that true peace will require communication and mutual understanding between the animals and humans.
