Was the look of Scar a sterotype of villians Disney shows? I'll try to find the answer
The Question : Was Scar/Simba/Mufasa typical villians/heros in the world of Disney?
You may be asking, "What do you mean???"
You all know your favorite movie, (Of cource) The Lion King! But were the character's looks meant to be, or just lucky?
First we will take a look at Scar, the villian of the First Lion King movie.
You may be aware, he's kinda ugly. Look at his hero counter-part, Simba/mufasa!
The example of ugly= evil has been a theme in many Disney videos, starting way back to Snow white, while the counter part of the story, when she turned into the witch looking thing, was much ugly.
Now- Many of you will be saying "Scar's mother was dark! His father gave him that SCAR!"
Let's ignore that, We all know Disney likes to make up stuff /After/ something comes out!
This is when the movie first came out - no books- no history.
Scar is much Darker (hinting "Darkness, evil") and compared to Simba, isn't much of a looker.
Now Simba, The main Hero of the story.
He has good looks right? He's handsom, and when he is a cub he is really adorable right? This is a typical theme in (Well now "Older") Disney films!
He is good to look at the eye right? You like him (well most people will) right off, unlike Scar, who you can instantly tell is the villian of the story. Strong looking, (most Disney Men do look strong) and light colors.
Making him look like a " Hero"
Not much to say here, now to Mufasa!
Good to look at the eye, a "good guy" right off the bat! Alot like Simba (Fatter though) so there is not much to say, now onto the female Lions!
Zira!
Much like Scar, but with a few added features.
A torn ear, if you've ever had a cat, your pet with that torn ear looks mangy doesn't it? Same thing for ZIra!
Her Dark colored Skin, red/yellow eyes are creepy, and dark looking. (That "Evil" look again)
To the hero female. I'll be using Sarabi!
Now, she's not as light as Simba/Mufasa/Nala, but she's not dark light Scar/Zira. She doesn't "Scream" evil.
^Sarabi/Scar comparasion^
Well, that's the base line of this artical. While the "HISTORY" of (Not each, but some) of these characters are great, but there is no doubt in my mind that Disney was planning to make these characters a sterotype of villians/heros.
Though now they have "matured" up some!
(I know I didn't use some other heros/villians from the movie, but well, there's not much different)
