I had written up a LONG news about the stuff going on, but the browser just blurped and I lost all of it. So unfortunately, here's a shortened version of what I wrote.
Ok, so if you check out the latest release dates, courtesy of Box Office Mojo, you'll see there are new entries. How to Train Your Dragon 3 comes out on June 17, 2016. Kung Fu Panda 3 comes out March 18, 2016. The Penguins of Madagascar - a brand-new film based off the TV show - comes out March 27, 2015. Three brand-new animated films have just been announced: Trolls (working title, June 5, 2015), Mumbai Musical (working title, December 18, 2015), and Happy Smekday (November 26, 2014).
This follows the announcements of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (June 20, 2014) and Rio 2 (April 11, 2014). As well as this, Pixar's previously-untitled film about Dinosaurs is called The Good Dinosaur and will be released on May 30, 2014.
Too far out for you? Finding Nemo comes back to theaters this weekend in 3D, which is something you can go and see if you loved it. Also, coming next week is Hotel Transylvania, a comedy. Frankenweenie comes to theaters October 5, and Wreck-it Ralph and Rise of the Guardians come to theaters in the last two months of the year. And lastly, the latest Pokemon film will be released by the end of the year; whether it is released in theaters or on Cartoon Network is not yet clear.

...I'm surprised the announcement of Finding Nemo 2 wasn't on here [I
think it's been confirmed, but no plot as of now]. Then again, there's
not much info on it yet, except that Ellen Degeneres is returning to
be Dory [yay!]. Some of these sequels [including the above] are... quite unnecessary in my eyes [except to become cash cows... again!], especially Rio 2 and the HTTYD sequels [shoot, they have the Dragons series on CN now, so shouldn't that be enough?]. I honestly can't see anything interesting as a good plot that isn't something most animated sequels haven't already done. I predict a bunch of "finding yourself" and "enter new love interest" plots all around! And of course, Rio 2 will totally have so many tie-ins into the Rio Summer Olympics a couple months after the planned release. What timing! - Juuchan17 |

They haven't even released HTTYD 2, and they're planning a third?
Anyway, all these movies look great, and I saw the screening (?) of
Finding Nemo 3D a few weeks ago ^^ |

I'm actually excited about Kung Fu Panda 3. It had a good cliffhanger!
Also Rio 2 is going to be excited because they're adding a true, current event to the movie that is VERY special to the people of Brazil! That'll give it a good plot. Hotel Transylvania looks absolutely hilarious. I like the original idea too. Wreck-it Ralph will be a great movie for any video game lover. It's going to feature a lot of game characters that we've grown up knowing. Q*bert, Eggman, Pacman ghost, Bowser, etc. I'm looking forward to the other cameos they'll hide in the movie. Rise of the Guardians looks like it's going to be an intense holiday movie. So far, my favorite character is Santa, who is a bold Russian man. Good fit! Overall, I'm excited for these movies! I can't wait to see them all! |
