Banana - Synopsis
In all of miniondom, there is no food as thoroughly and enthusiastically embraced and enjoyed as the humble banana. Well, at least they're eating healthy, right? For a minion, a banana is the ultimate comfort food. However, the love of the banana borders on obsession with each and every minion. They will guard well their own supply, and go to great lengths to acquire anyone else's--begging, pleading, manipulation and even stealing. (As an afterthought, not specifically related to this mini-movie, this would certainly be followed closely by ice cream with all the trimmings! Do you suppose the minions know about banana splits?)
One day that's just what happens. All of it. One fellow makes a mistake...he turns his back on one of his co-workers while at his work station. Obsessing over his banana, carefully concealed in his lunch box on the floor by his desk, it is all he can do to keep from pulling it out and indulging in the yellow goodness right then and there, and just forget about waiting for lunch. Of course, he's a minion...so impulse control is not among his stonger suits. He finally gives in, reaches for the banana, and is spotted by his coworker. What follows is pure hilarity...and chaos! Then a minion accidentally innocently walks into the room with an apple...
Home Makeover - Synopsis
It hasn't been long since Gru has adopted Margo, Edith and Agnes from Miss Hattie's Home For Girls, and the final stage of the adoption process which Gru has to surpass is for his home to pass inspection as being suitable for children. Naturally, this hasn't been the primary thing on his mind, and his home has never been kid-safe (in fact, it's full of dangerous and villainous things). But he knows he will have to get around to it soon, as a visit from a social worker to conduct the inspection is looming.
Unfortunately, nobody expected a call from the social worker one morning while Gru was out on an errand to find plutonium! The social worker says he's on his way over! Agnes tells two minions to "assemble the troops", and what ensues is a hilarious litany of attempts by the minions, and the girls, to cover up the unsavory aspects of Gru's home with paint, ribbons, tennis balls, etc. Then the social worker arrives, and the girls and one of the minions pile on a disguise to appear as Gru, which appears to fool the social worker...who gives the house a pass. And just as he's going out the door to leave, Gru shows up!
Orientation Day - Synopsis
Gru has a lot of minions...a whole army of them in fact. Nevertheless, there are times when new ones come into the fold, and are employed by "Gru Laboratories" (after having been engineered by Dr. Nefario, apparently!). Once they are ready, they are given a name tag, a specific job, and a new employee orientation video. Upon completion of that video, they then begin their first day on the job, whether it be in the research department, or as members of a crack infiltration and heists team, or as bomb transporters!
And that's just what three new minions experience on their first day in this mini-movie. Each of the three have been assigned as bomb transporters. They are so excited about starting, however, that they're not terribly focused on the orientation video they're supposed to be watching and, when the time comes to begin their first day, chaos ensues...and a lot of explosions!
