Again yes they have run into calling them pepper or freckles but in most of the books and under dialog of the movie it states feckles has 3 spots around his nose. There's no particular specification for pepper. Oh and I watched the film last night took me a couple more hours but all the puppy coats are repeated at least once in one scene or the other. :3

Actually, I think this girl's name is Pepper. I'm pretty sure that she was called Pepper in the movie.

That's why many people say that it's Pepper instead of Freckles. But I've done my research and in the books I've seen there are characterized by his spots where it says freckles was named after his spots across his nose. And in the scene you can see the dubbed over his almost exact look to a puppy next to the one who asked "did you hear that?" when the pup that first asked is atop the bag and leaning off it. Could be they got lazy ad decided to reuse the color and missed changing spot placement. Also some male pup voice overs where done by women so that could be another reason why. I was surprised when I found that out to but freckles is affirmatively boy.
