Everyone, I am done. There will be no more posts about the true story here, or on the main site. I am not deleting my profile (though who can say whether or not it WILL be deleted by certain others :x ), but beyond responses to posts generally on the forum, or to comments on the main site, I have had it with the behavior and the backroom politics of this site.

If you'd like to know why, please visit my main site profile: http://baltosource.timduru.org/en/profile/see/9709.html.

You're certainly welcome to visit my true story website, http://www.baltostruestory.com, and I'd like to point out that the forum is now open for viewing by guests, though you must still register in order to participate and enjoy all its benefits: http://togoseppala.proboards105.com/index.cgi.

To those who have always been kind to me, and appreciative of all the hard work I put into helping you learn about the real history (and who have enjoyed my fan fictions and fan videos, and my articles), I am deeply grateful.

well, bye. As much as I would love to join you back at your forum, I know that's not possible. But, thanks again for helping me and the others learn the true story.

Leonhard Seppala left from Nome, driving his team 170 miles to Shaktoolik, traveling up to 84 miles one day. Coupled with the return trip from Shaktoolik to Golovin, his total distance was an astonishing 261 miles! This is the team that was led by Togo, and seconded by Fritz.)

Statues & Mounts

Balto Statue The most famous "Serum Run landmark" would be the bronze Balto statue in New York Central Park. Built in 1925 by sculpter Frederick George Richard Roth. It describes on the text, "Dedicated to the indomitable spirit of the sled dogs that relayed antitoxins 660 miles over rough ice, across treacherous waters, through Arctic blizzards from Nenana to the relief of stricken Nome in the Winter of 1925.Endurance - Fidelity - Intelligence"

Balto's Mount Balto passed away in the confort of Cleveland, were he still is today, mounted in the 'Cleveland Museum of Natural History'. Some people believe his body should be in Nome, but Cleveland deserves Balto as they rescued him and his team mates and he lived there happily as a hero for the last years of his life. His fur is now faded from his original black. You can visit him and his exhibition still and even buy Balto merchindise in the gift shop! Here is the link if you want more information: http://www.cmnh.org/site/

Togo's Mount Togo was too mounted and can be found in the Iditarod Trail Museum in Wasilla, Alaska. It was first displayed in Vermont but a campaign brought Togo back to his original home state thankfully. Unfortunatly though, the mount is not in its best state.

Fritz Mount Fritz, one of Leonard Seppala's dogs from the Serum Run, has also been mounted and can be found at the "Carrie L. McLean Memorial Museum and Library" located in Nome.
Here is an interesting article BaltoSeppala found: http://www.adn.com/front/story/6163088p-6042574c.html

The Serum Run Diary and dates, coming soon!

Profiles of Balto & Togo also coming soon!

Hello, this is the first time I see this real story, thank you very much
