Okay; whomever wrote the segment for "TaleSpin Tales" messed up quite a bit. Plunder and Lightning was broken up into four episodes when released in syndication (which is the DVD release of the series). Second; it wasn't an extra fifteen minutes missing; the final time for syndication was four minutes less than the movie. Also; syndication was the one that had many of the cuts. Although to be fair; both versions were a real mess. The only thing of note here is that the opening animation was done in America (although I would have been happier if the segment actually told us which American studio actually did the animation), so there you go.

The animation for the opening titles was taken from the 60 second promo, which was animated by Sam Cornell's studio. Sam worked at Disney TVA in the early years, but also ran his own studio in Santa Monica.

Thanks; I have been wondering about that for a while.
