I just got a chance to interview Star from Balto - Robbie Rist.

1. What was it like playing Star from Balto?

I like doing gigs where they give you leeway to make it your own and improvise. Simon Wells was like, "Yeah, try it'. Any gig like that is gonna be fun. Also, it gives me a 'Kevin bacon number of 1, so THAT is super cool. Also, in the animation world, Balto is that rare bird of being about a serious subject AND there's no songs. I think in it's way, Balto stands proud as kind of it's own thing.

2. Do you have any favorite lines from the movie?

I like the little whoopee I do after getting hit on the head.

3. Can you believe it has been over 15 years ago?

I just looked up how long ago it was. yeah....crazy....

4. If they brought your character back, would you reprise the roles in the sequels?

Of course. I wanna work all of the time!

Weird Connection: Balto To Naruto
5. How is your work coming along as Choji Akamichi in Naruto?

I haven't done any in a while. he is such an ancillary character.
I dunno. I 'm sure he will be back....

What do you think? Please post your responses below.

That is so cool. It's cool to know that he hasn't forgotten about his awesome role on Balto!

Awesome! I wish I could see the trio again. Especially hearing Robbie Rist voice Star again! :-)

Have you seen how old this topic is? If there was audio, it probably would have been released a long time ago.

On top of everything else, while this is not an attempt to dismiss Nikkifan1's efforts at all (which may or may not have been real), without photos or even audio (or video) of the interviews in question, it is hard to take simple typed words at face value...as an authentic interview. And none has ever been provided for any of these interviews.

But as you said, Arctic, the topic is old.

I can confirm this interview did happen. I can also say that Mr. Rist is interested in an audio interview if we want.

I'm friends with him on Facebook, and he's usually pretty generous about having interviews/talks with fans. I'd take a screenshot, but I'd rather not expose his personal information for all to see.

I guess, since it's fairly on topic, if you guys want to post your questions here, then I can work on setting up an interview.

I wonder why we never see interviews with the likes of Phil Collins? Or Kevin Bacon? Or Bob Hoskins? Or Bridgette Fonda? David Carradine? Mark Hamill? Peter MacNicol? Sean Astin? Keith Carradine? Kathy Najimy? Carl Weathers? David Paymer? Or mmmaaaaaaybe even Jim Cummings? Maurice LaMarche? Jodi Benson? Joe Alaskey? Charles Fleischer?

(Rhetorical question.)

Good reason why we don't hear from David LOL but in all seriousness I'd love to hear from the others

Well, just because he is deceased doesn't mean we might not have seen an "interview" (quotations intentional) with him before. Most of these interviews (real or not) are old history anyway. I don't know that I've seen any recent interviews.
