Okay, I've seen this film many times and I always though it was sad when Koda is told about his mum's death by Kenai and I wanted to know if you found it sad too.

I did find it kind of sad, but since it was the turning point in the movie I guess you could find it a bit exciting too since it leads to the thing with Denahi. I wasn't so sad though as to cry, LOL. XD But still, it was a bit. Poor Koda ):

Of course it was sad. I might not have cried or anything like that during it, but it was a moving scene indeed.
I love how instead of Kenai actually telling Koda what had happened, they used expressions and gestures while Phil Collins sang instead.

I agree. It had the same sort of effect as 'married life' in Up.

I thought it was really sad, and I can only imagine how painful that sort of thing must be.

NO. That scene in UP right at the beginning when it shows all the way till the wife died makes me cry. I don't know what it is, I don't ever cry during movies, but THAT part of the movie and Hachi: a Dog's tale made me cry, though Hachi had me sobbing the whole movie X3

I'm not saying it is as sad as Up. Just the same sort of style of telling something which is better done without lots of talking. I didn't cry ay BB but Up did get me crying.

It is definitely sad. I was watching the scene today and I can't imagine being in Koda's situation...

Throughout the entire movie he had hope that his mother would come meet him soon, and then he is told by someone he looks up to that she is not coming back. He's also just a cub.. Definitely sad...

As well as the fact that the one he looked up to so much is the very one who KILLED his mom. That sounds like the hardest part to me. It's like he lost both his mom and his brother in that instance.

It surely is! And i think Phil Collins's song helps conveying the emotion.
