Can You Stay Hidden From The Hunters That Seek You?

A Roleplay Story by Black Rose, Moki Hunter, and WolfCall

Plot

In the small town of Night Shade, Cresent Valley High School is about to gain some new students. What the faculty doesn't know is that this rawdy gang of teenagers is actually a werewolf pack. Although these lycanthropes are still new at controlling their abilities, they all plan to start their lives over in this new town and live somewhat normal lives. But these werewolves aren't the only supernatural teens in this town.

Over-looking the whole town is the Shadow Mountain Manor, a towering mansion that contains a very strange group of teens who happen to be vampires. This young coven has been living in Night Shade and attending CVHS long enough to learn that keeping a low profile is the best way to go. The young pack of werewolves posses a threat to the vampires way of life, and with only a month left until school is in session, the vampires try their hardest to control the new pack. But these young wolves don't want to listen to anything the vampires have to say. With fights breaking out, their existence becames less and less hidden.

There are only six people in the whole town who know of the existence of werewolves and vampires, and these hunters are close to finding out about these two groups of teens. Will the pack and the coven learn to get along before the hunters discover their secret?

Current Time

Month/Season: late July and nearing the end of a hot summer; the sun is still bright, though, and the weather hot

Setting

Modern Time ~ 2011/2012
NightShade, Ohio ~ a fictional small town containing about one of everything

Important Places

MAP

Dainty's Diner ~ The casual place to eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is owned by the Richmond couple, and they cook all the food there on their own. Their young daughter, Chelsea, waitresses the place almost all the time, but they do have a few employees that help out with the place. They have an old-fashioned bar seating complete with stools along with tables and booths. They even have an old juxebox that doesn't work one hundred percent of the time but has a wide variety of music.

Bella Notte ~ A much more formal restaurant that is a hot spot for first dates and anniversaries. It is obviously an Itialian themed eatery, but they have many lunch specials as well. Inside is filled with velvet carpets, soft lighting, and wineglasses with soft music barely heard in the background.

Sweets 'N Treats ~ This is the place to go when you have the urge for something sweet. The small building is split between a candy shop, an ice cream parlor, and a fudgery. There are many tables scattered around the whole floor, and you will never be able to not be able to find a place to sit. What makes this place specail is that all the treats are home-made. The place seems to never be empty, and it is understandable why.

The Crooked Shelf ~ A quaint book store containing shelves upon shelves of modern and classic literature. It is one of the few shops with two stories, and it's second floor is mainly filled with arm chairs and couches were books can be enjoyed to the fullest. There is a small stage there where local musicians can play any night, just so long as they inform Katie (the elderly book keeper) before they arrive that night.

Immaculate Heart ~ The local church in Night Shade where most of the town congregates every Sunday morning.

Green Tea ~ A generic drug store with the only pharmacy in town near the back of the store. Although this place is usually empty, it is a great place to purchase any first aid needs.

Night Shade Medical ~ The local doctor's office that only contraisn two actual doctors. Although they can treat many minor injuries, the major wounds must endure the hour drive to the closest hospital in the next town over.

Moutain Sun Hospital ~ A hopsital in the next town where all major injures can be properly taken care of.

North Hills Shopping District ~ Only a twenty minute drive, this is the place where most of the people in NightShade go for a shopping spree. North Hills is a large stip mall filled with stores of every kind, even brand name stores that are non-existant in NightShade. On weekends, many teenagers will take the whole day to go to North Hills and spend their pay checks.

Eye of the Needle ~ The only clothing store in Night Shade with absolutely no name brand articles of clothing in sight. Despite this, most of the clothes there are still pretty fashionable, even if there aren't in style. Most everyone is happy shopping there, but they also have other clothing usually bought in North Hills.

Seeing Clear ~ This shop mostly sells jewelery, but their specailty is the hand-made glass trinkets that take up the whole back of the store. Each one is unique, and they are very popular for gifts to loved ones.

Greener Grasses ~ A small grocery store with a huge section of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Joe's General Store ~ Just as the title would suggest. You can find everything here from cooking utensils to a birthday card.

Fresh ~ A bakery that is wonderful for breakfasts and lunches. They have many cafe items, including many specail coffees, mochas, and smoothies. They have the best breakfast sandwiches in town, and are famous for their cakes and cookies. The place is small and only has a few boothes, but most people prefer to eat outside in the patio area anyways.

Checkers ~ The only pizzeria in town, but most of the NightShade population will say that they have the best pizza in the world. They only have a small place to sit and eat, but most everyone just gets delivery.

Night Shade Flim ~ The largest building in Night Shade and serves as not only a movie theatre, but also the video and music store. Although this is all separated inside, it all goes by the same name and is worked by the same employees. Even though they tend to get the latest DVD's and Cd's a week later than the rest of the world, they are usually perfect when keeping up with theatre releases.

Rosebud's ~ A strange store that sells many 'magical' items, and mostly people by things from there for gags and prunks. What they don't know is that many of these items will work in the right hands...

Nightly ~ The tiny hotel where visiters, including the hunters, can stay for as long as they want. It contains a large lobby downstaris and has only one floor of rooms.

Cresent Valley High School ~ CVHS is the only public school in Night Shade and is where most kids attend after finishing grade school at CVGS

Shadow Mountain Manor ~ A large mansion that sits over the town as if watching over it. Also, it is the home of the vampires.

Not sure which characters to add. If we each add three characters to make up for Polar's characters, I think it would work best. I know thats a lot of characters for a both of us, but do you think we can hande it? If so, I think it would go best if we each add someone at school and in the huntes, I add a vampire, and you add a werewolf. Is this alright with you? I'll wait for your answer before posting my new characters.

And here are my old characters!!!

Full Name: Stacy Johnson
Nicknames: Stacy, Stace
Age: 20 years
Gender: female
Group: Hunters
Personality: What Stacy lacks in size she makes up for in attitude. She has a firey temper and doesn't take grief from anybody. If she has a problem with you, you are well aware of it. She isn't one to keep quiet and is unafraid to bring attention to "the elephant in the room." She almost always has a come-back to anything you can throw at her. Stacy isn't all talk, either. She is very good at her job and hardly ever misses a target. She prefers to use the old fashion bow and arrow rather than a gun, but she is handy with both. Although her weak point is a hands on fight, she knows the pressure points of the body well enough to escape from a grip and make a run for it. She also has a great hatred for werewolves and does not ask questions before killing one.

History: Stacy grew up in sunny California with her single mother. Coming from a rich family, the two of them never hurt financially. Stacy climbed up the socail ladder from the time she entered school all the way to high school graduation. Although she loved a good party, she preferred to stay clean of drugs and alcohol and ranked in the top ten achedemically in her class. She was all prepared to attend college and earn a degree in chemical engineering when she stayed out much too late on a full moon night.

While walking home at around two in the morning, Stacy had the strange feeling that someone was following her. She keep her cool and continued down the main street of town, but there were only a few cars along even that road. Between passing cars, Stacy was suddenly shoved into an alley. Paniced, she ran farther into the alley to try and escape the stranger, but her path was blocked by a fence. She pounded on back doors and screamed for help from the shadow she still didn't see, but no one came to her rescure. Finally, she saw a pair of gold eyes climbing down a fire escape, and the large furred form they belonged to let out a wailing howl just before lunging for her.

Having no where else to go, Stacy tried to climb the fence, but the creature grabbed her ankle between it's jaws and pulled at her. She clutched to the fence as best she could, but claws scrapped across her abdomen as the creature tried to pulled her off the fence. Stacy soon realized the monster was climbing up after her just as one lean claw caught the side of her neck and slid down to her collar bone. And then, the mass of fur was gone.

She managed to detangled herself from the fencing and slid to the ground where she watched a man drag the now human body behind a dumpster. The man came over to her and explained that the creature had been a werewolf and it was his job to kill them. He examined her ankle and told her the bite wasn't deep enough to give her the lycanthropy, but that her wounds she be cleaned anyways. Her took her to his house where he badanged her wounds and where she stayed the night. In the morning, the man asked her if she would like to join him in the hunt since he was growing older and still had not taken on an apprentice. Feeling a new hatred for werewolves, Stacy immediately agreed. She left for training a few days late, much to the disappointment of her parents, and has not returned to California since.

Crush: ~
Other: she has many scars from the attack, including bite marks on her right ankle, claw marks across her hips and stomach, and one lean scar running from just under her right ear, down the side of her neck, and ending at her collar bone; because of her scars Stacy almost always wears a turtle-neck shirt, and if she isn't, she will never wear any shirt that goes below her collar-bone.

Full Name: Caledon Enslie
Nicknames: Cale
Age: 30 years, but looks around his late teens
Gender: male
Group: Vampires
Personality: Cale is almost always chill and hardly ever looses his cool. He likes to makes others smile, especailly those in his coven. His smirk never leaves his face unless the situation is very, very serious. Cale is also a huge flirt and likes messing with the human girls around town, which is why most of them know who he is and follow him around when he walks through town. Although he is always relaxed, Cale cares a lot about his friends and would give up his life for any of them. Because Cale likes hanging around the humans in town so much, the others are often faced with his big puppy-dog eyes when he begs them to go down to the strip mall or rollor-skating rink or other human place with him.

History: Cale spent his human life in Texas during the late 80's and earlier 90's. He graduated from highschool in 1999, then took off with a group of his friends for a cross-country trip, leaving behind their small town, ranching lives behind. They traveled to Florida to visit Dinsey Land and then Universal, never having been there before. They went to Miama then the beaches of Carolina before making their way to New York for broadway. From there, they headed west, stopping at major sights including the Grand Canyon. Finally, they reached California and spent two weeks with a surf board in one hand and a beer in the other.

As the five best friends spent their last night out on the beach, prepareing to head back home just in time to pack for college, a strange girl came walking passed them a little after midnight. Because she was very beautiful and also because they were not exactly sober, the boys were on her in an instant. The girl hung out with them, encouraging their in take of alcohol until they were passed out drunk, except Cale who never was a big drinker. He did finally fall asleep while the mysterious girl stroked his hair.

When Cale finally woke an hour later with the feeling that something really wasn't right, he was still laying in the same beach chair in the same spot he had fallen asleep at. But the only thing left of his friends were their empty beach chair. Only thinking that they returned to the beach house without him, Cale thought nothing of it until he noticed the girl sitting calmly in the sand. Blood coated her mouth and hands and then Cale saw a few clumps of dark sand that had been scattered around to become unnoticable. Then, the girl's teeth were at his throat before he even saw her move. When Cale felt that there could not be a single drop of blood left in his body, the girl muttered something about liking Cale. Blackness was taking over his vision when a warm liquid entered his mouth just before he could no longer feel his heart beating.

Cale came to hidden behind sand dunes with the sun blazing down on him. He felt a necklace around his neck and quickly tore it off. His body felt as if it had been dumped into flames, so he quickly put the necklace back on. He later found the note demanding he never take the shark tooth off, and that is when it finally clicked that Cale was now a vampire.

Full Name: Rafe Slaughter
Nicknames: Rafe
Age: 18 years
Gender: male
Group: Werewolves
Personality: Rafe acts like the big brother of the pack and can sometimes be over-protective especailly when it comes to the humans. He has an intimidating build that can easily scare off most anybody, but he is a very caring and considerate guy. He hates to be away from his pack and is hardly seen without another werewolf. He hardly ever looses his tempers, but if one of the pack is in trouble, Rafe is blinded by rage and is merciless. After his experience with the hunters, Rafe is weary of humans and will not hesitate to kill a hunter.

History: Rafe was born in a town just outside of Night Shade, and he had a normal childhood with two loving parents and two annoying younger twin sisters. When he entered highschool, he had all the plans to make it to captain of the football team, and things seemed to be moving in that direction as he made it on the team. Even at the beginning of the season, there was talk of moving him up to the varsity team for his sophmore year, and Rafe's small world just got happier and happier.

Rafe never did see his sophmore year at that school, though. After one football game, Rafe stayed long after everyone else had left to talk with the varsity coach. They discussed moving him up after the end of the season, which Rafe agreed to quickly. The coach left, but Rafe stayed out on the field, to happy to leave just yet. As he laid down in the center of the field, he heard a low snarl coming from his left. When he turned toward the sound, he saw a flash of slick white jaws before they sliced through his shoulder.

The animal left bite wounds up and down Rafe's body as he tried to fight it off, but it finally got a grip around his neck. Thankfully, the team had come back to the field to look for Rafe since he never showed up at the restaurant, and they scared off the strange creature. The cops were called and Rafe was rushed to the hospital.

After stitching him up, Rafe had to stay home for a week of recovery, but after only two days, he felt fine again. Rafe took out the stitches himself since they were causing more pain then helping him. After three days, all the marks from the attack were completely gone. His parents and the doctors were all astonished by this, but Rafe was just happy that he wouldn't have to miss a game.

A month passed, and everything seemed back to normal. Except for Rafe. As the moon grew fuller, Rafe became more out of control. He almost broke the neck of a player on another team, and the coaches were having doubts about moving Rafe up to varsity. When he shoved a team mate into a locker after an arguement, the coaches finally decided Rafe couldn't handle the pressure of football and school. They asked him to turn in his gear and come back when he had learned to control his anger. Rafe was so frustrated with life that night, that he took a walk in the evening of the full moon and shifted before night even fell.

Now that he knew what he was, Rafe ran away from town and traveled around Ohio for two years. During this time he had a run in with a group of hunters. He tried negotiating with them before one of them shot an arrow at him that, luckily, missed. Rafe took off and now only sees hunters as merciless killers. He found the pack near his old hometown. When they were looking for a place to stay, Rafe suggested NightShade, though never told them he grew up in the next town over. He yearns everyday to go back to his hometown, though he knows he shouldn't.

Other: he has a single scar across the top of his shoulder from a silver arrow

Full Name: Jackson Coldstone
Nicknames: Jack
Age: 17 years
Gender: male
Group: Human Student
Personality: Jackson is very artistic and is his greatest love his music. He writes his own songs with the help of his guitar that is covered in his own sharpie drawings. He also does a lot of sketch work, but never takes the time to actually add much color to them other than a few streaks of colored pencil. Even though he is an artist, he has absolutely no patience and has a very short temper. He gets flustered and stressed too easily. But Jackson also has a very open mind and is a good person to go to for advice since he's the master of the brutal truth.

History: Jackson's father owns a lot of the shops in town, so the Coldstone family is pretty fine with money. Jackson is the only child and can get pretty much get anything he wants, though he doesn't really flaunt this. He is comfortable with worn out t-shirts and ripped up jeans and only spends money on his musical taste with racks of CD's and the best stereo and amp in town. His guitar actually came from his aunt who passed it down to him just before she died. He named the guitar 'Marie' after his aunt and a intricate drawing of that name was the first thing Jackson sharpied onto the guitar.

Jackson is definately not the most popular kid in school, and keeps his head down most of the time. He doesn't like to get involved in any of the drama and chaos of highschool. He does have the biggest crush on the most popular girl in school, though she would never look his way. Most of his songs are about her. He also writes about the problems of his friends, especailly his best friend Carrie.

Jackson doesn't believe much in the supernatural. He likes reality just the way it is and doesn't want any creatures coming in and making it different. Of course, when Carrie starts about werewolves and vampires, Jackson listens, but he always makes sure to say, "You do know that none of that stuff is real, right?"

Full Name: Luna Wagner
Nicknames: Luna
Age: 17 years
Gender: female
Group: Werwolves
Personality: Luna is very rebellious and likes to break rules just for the sake of proving she can't be restrained from doing what she wants. She doesn't really seem to care about anyone and is rather mean to her other pack mates, but they knew by now not to take is personally. She avoids any romantic situation at all costs since she claims she wants absolutely nothing to do with love, and she has a habit of rolling her eyes and fake gagging whenever someone in the pack starts talking about love and friends and family and stuff like that.

History: Luna grew up in a bad part of New York where the whole city was basically under the influence of the gangs there. Luna's mother got involved with a gang called the Wolves, and her mother often feed them whenever they came around and would even offer them the guest bedroom if one of them needed a place to spend the night. Although Luna was told many times by her mother to stay away from these people and to stay upstairs whenever they were around, Luna knew about the coming and going of the gang members and even learned some of their names.

When Luna was fifteen, she started to disregard her mother's warning words and joined the gang for dinner on one occasion that lead to many more. One of the younger members, Ryan, came to the house more and more often to talk and flirt with Luna. Her mother noticed the attention he was giving Luna, and told her daughter she wasn't allowed to see him anymore because he was too old for her. Luna didn't see what those three measley years had to do with anything, and escalted the arguement further. Her mother forbid her to leave her room for the rest of the night before heading back downstairs to start dinner.

Later on, just to prove that her mother had no control over her, Luna snuck out of her room and found Ryan at the park where the Wolves often spent time. She declared that she was joining them no matter what, and Ryan had no complaints about it. He warned her that the initiation would be life-changing, but Luna didn't care. She just wanted away from her over protective mother. Ryan took her to a run-down house where the gang lived and they set her initiation for the next night of the full moon.

When that night came, they locked Luna and Ryan in a room together before running for the woods in the park. Luna was very confused about what she was supposed to do to be accepted into the gang, and that was when Ryan started to shift into a wolf. Luna realized that Ryan had been right about how the initiation would change her, but she calmed her fears and welcomed Ryan's bites.

After officailly becoming a member, Luna fell into her place easily, mostly sticking by Ryan and staying out of trouble. But when things with Ryan started to go down hill, Luna wanted out. After a huge fight with Ryan, ending with him telling her she can't ever leave, Luna got up the courage to run. She didn't make it very far when a few Wolves caught up to her and tried to take her back. Luna fought with all her strength, but they dragged her all the way back to the house and knocked her out so she wouldn't run. When she came to, she felt ashamed from trying to leave the people that had now become her family, but the Wolves weren't forgiving. She was banished from the gang and forced to leave town, and Ryan didn't even come to say a good-bye.

Now that she was a lone wolf, Luna did nothing but walk until she reached NightShade and the pack she has now. She still wonders if Ryan still thinks of her and if he even knew that she was being banished until after she was gone. She holds on to the hope that he still loves her, which is why she refuses to be eith any other guy.

Other: she still wears a bracelet that marks are as part of the gang, but she can't bring herself to take it off yet

Full Name: Vanessa Cooke
Nicknames: Nessa
Age: 16 years
Gender: female
Group: Human Student
Personality: Nessa can be rather vain when it comes to her looks and does really enjoy all the attention she gets from being part of the popular crowd. She is a very big flirt and jumps at any cute guy that passes her way, whether she is currently single or not. She is a great friend to her team mates, though, and is willing to do just about anything for them. Although she plays the pretty girl at school, she also has a tomboyish side to her that only her friends really now about.

History: Nessa has lived in Night Shade her whole life, though she hasn't always been on top of the socail ladder. When she was in gradeschool, she hung around all the guys and played their rough sports and joined into their gross jokes. It was only when she was thirteen that one girl pointed out how much Nessa acted like a guy. That was when she started questioning if she wanted to be all the guys best friend or the girl that every guy wanted. Nessa decided on the latter.

When Nessa entered her freshman year in CVHS, she completely changed her whole style first by not signing up for any sports and instead going out for the dance team. After such an athletic youth, Nessa found dancing easy and found herself the most favorite freshman on the team. She also learned that the dance team had quite a bit of competition against the cheerleaders, who also had a new freshman. It was the same girl who had insulted Nessa in eight grade, so she easily hated the cheerleaders as much as the older girls on the dance team.

As she grew up, Nessa found herself attending all the best parties and gaining all the attention from the guys. She also found herself always competeing against the same girl, especailly when Nessa found out her football player boyfriend had cheated on her with that cheerleader. Now that she's about to enter her Junior year, Nessa is determined to find some way to get back at her. She also just found out that she is the unofficail "Baby Captain" on the dance team by the Seniors, which basically garuntee's her the captain spot next year. Nessa is floating on cloud nine just when things in town start to change.

Full Name: Scott Rover
Nickname: Scotty
Age: 21
Gender: male
Group: Hunter
Personality: Scotty doesn't try very hard at his missions and goes off on his own to get a drink or hang out at a club. A lot of his companions get annoyed with him, but Scotty doesn't mind at all. He actually tries really hard to do everything wrong and get on everyone's last nerve. Although he pretends to trip up in training and on exams, he is an incredible fighter and detective. He often figures something out, keeps it to himself, and slyly leds the others to discover what he already knew. He definately does not want to be known as anything remotely close to a good agent, so he spends his time joking around and scewing up unimportant work.

History: Scotty is the grandson of the director of their operation, but he has a reputaion of being horrable at his job even though he is actually really amazing at what he does. There is a reason for him pretending to suck, though. His father was basically a disgrace to his grandfather, so when Scotty showed potential at a young age, his grandfather was thrilled. Scotty noticed how badly this hurt his farther, though, and quickly began messing up his training on purpose and skipping out on his studies. He hung out with friends a lot and worked really hard to earn the reputation of being the goof-off. His grandfather still puts him on mission, though, in hope that the skills he witnessed when Scotty was younger will suddenly reappear.

Full Name: Chloe Kesley
Nickname: SunGlow, Sun, Sunny, sometimes Glow
Age: in her mid-sixtes but looks 18
Gender: female
Group: Vampire
Personality: Sunny represents the hippie culture she was brought up in, but with her own modern twist. She is very into peace, love, and harmony and hardly ever lets others get under her skin and tick her off. She is very well-tempered and is never upset, or so it seems like. She has a calm demeaner, but if something catches her attention, she wasts no time shedding her out coolness to reveal a hyper-active mind. She is incredubly smart as well and also very compassionate. Unlike the others of her coven, she is willing to give the wolves a chance before she even meets them.

History: Chloe grew up in the 1960s and soaked up all the culture that came with it. She soon left her parents and highschool behind to join a caravan of other teens protesting the war. But on their way to DC, they had some care troubles. The whole group of them stayed in tents on the side of the road while the large bus was fixed, but Chloe (now known as Sunny) couldn't stand being cooped up in that one spot. She soon wondered off and had a rather nasty run in with a vampire. You can figure out the rest...

Sunny feel into the life pretty easily since she refused to go after humans no matter how bad her thirst, but her animal-loving ways also prevented that source of blood. Sunny quickly caught onto the habit of stealing from blood banks. Although she still feels guilty for stealing, she knows she has to survive and is the one to convert her current coven to this practice.

For twenty years, Sunny remained in the dark nights until she happened upon a friendly witch who cursed the gold and silver bracelet she wore. (the one in the pic) With this new found freedom, Sunny explored the modern world, starting with her nose peircing and sun design tattoo all across her back.

Full Name: Chelsea Richmond
Nickname: Chels
Age: 16
Gender: female
Group: Human Student
Personality: Chelsea is serious most of the time and not easily humored even though her sarcastic comments usually have her friends rolling on the ground laughing. She is cynical and pessimistic, although she simply calls herself a realist. She is firm in her believe that as soon as something good happens, something equally as horrible must follow, and vice versa. This is why she doesn't strive for happiness and is actually more hopeful after a tragedy. At work, she is very manorly and kind but professional and often unemotional. She is fast-reacting in a situation, which is good in the restaurant business when a machine breaks down or a whole stack of plates falls to the ground. She isn't the best person to come to when you have a problem, since she is brutally honest and won't try to make you feel better.

History: Chelsea grew up in NightShade and in Dainty's Diner, the quaint restaurant her parents own. Because she spent a lot of her childhood helping out with the family business, it is no wonder that she works there almost every weeknight and weekend day. Despite the frequent hours, her parents will give her off any day she wants. Besides, the pay is amazing, so Chelsea hardly ever complains.

Group: Vampires
Personality: Most of the time is secretive, can seem cold and heartless, and overall unforgiving. But his coven can see past the exterior, and really he's just had a hard past to deal with. He's slightly calm when he's around them, and only sometimes loses his temper unless someone he doesn't trust or know comes into the picture - when the other species/groups start becoming entangled in their concerns, Ashton is set on edge. And even his coven can't help him to a full extent. They know him well, but not well enough.
History: By Ash's 15th birthday, he had already begun to feel slightly rebellious towards his parents. He had always been a good student in school, never really disobeyed anyone, but all of a sudden, when his grades slipped a bit from stress, his parents couldn't handle it? They yelled and shouted at him as if he were a dog. He didn't like it one bit.
This was where a split personality started forming. He was hurt that his parents couldn't accept him, in some form or another, but at the same time began feeling it was his duty to defy them in order to show he wouldn't take it anymore. He slowly began letting his grades slip, more and more.
Every day his parents would yell even more at him, and this caused even more damage. Ashton began confusing everything. He had forgotten rational explanation, and it was beyond his understanding by now that his rebellious ways were making matters worse. It came to a point where his father slapped him across the face, so hard the teenager was knocked off his feet. He let out a few tears, the last he swore he'd ever shed, and ran out the door. His older brother followed him, little to Ashton's knowledge, in an attempt to try and convince him to come back.
Ashton ran through the city, far far away from his old home. He wanted nothing to do with his old life anymore. He wouldn't show weakness ever again. Not on the outside, at least. He'd bottle it up forever if he had to. And then it happened.
While stumbling upon one of the various alleys in the streets, he slipped against the wall and allowed himself to feel the pain, taking it all in like battle wounds.
Suddenly, the now 17 year old was confronted with a creature of darkness. A vampire. He didn't know it, either, until he felt blood across his mouth, that wasn't even his, and then fangs in his throat. He died then with another vampire's blood in his system. He awakened to find his brother leaning over his body, trying to help him up as Ashton's vision began fuzzing and clearing.
Ashton barely recognized his brother, and it was only after he nearly killed him did he realize there was strange blood spewn all over the floor. He felt his own neck. There were two bite marks there that would forever remain. He was horrified as he saw his brother's nearly dead body on the ground, and fled the scene quicker than any average human could.
He eventually went back home to get some things before he left town, but when he came, his parents were there to greet him with glares of hatred. They had found out about his brother. And they thought he was the murderer. His own parents attempted to kill their 'last' son. They shot him with bullets, they stabbed him with knives, but to Ashton's astonishment, nothing really bothered him. Except that his own parents were trying to murder him in cold blood. This was the ultimate breaking point, and he killed his parents out of rage. He drank their blood with savage delight, and later found his brother. Before his brother died, he tried the same thing that had happened to him. He gave his brother his own blood, then killed him for good. His brother was now a vampire too, and didn't like it. They grew apart overtime, even though they still held a brotherly bond for each other that could never be broken.
Before they were torn apart, though, they each received a matching chain from a witch who wanted them gone from town. She hated the bloodshed and offered them a trip out of having to hide from the sun in exchange for them leaving innocent blood out of her town. They accepted, of course, and from then on were able to walk during the day without so much as a mild burn.
Ashton has a tattoo of a cross on his chest, as mild humor for himself, but he is aching inside like no one would ever know. And he's acted out in vain because of it. For all these years since...

Full Name: Isabella Yukon
Nicknames: Isa, Bella, Isabella
Age: 16 1/2 [for 26 years]
Gender: Female
Group: Vampires
Personality: Isabella is smart. She knows her way around things and is apt at getting out of tough situations. And while quiet most of the time, the members of her coven know well enough that when she does talk, it's usually not without good reason. She's always planning in the back of her mind, looking for loopholes or anything related. She's extremely friendly, though her quietness does not come from being shy. She's actually extremely nice and social. This concerns some members of the coven because while they like staying low and not talking to many outside their group, Isa tends to like talking to humans sometimes.
History: Isa had never had a tough life when she was younger. But when she was 15, she was hit with an extremely fatal case of cancer. Her parents were devastated and while she went through months of treatment, her health only seemed to decline. She didn't get better. She only got worse. Before she knew it, it was her sixteenth birthday. And she had to spend it in the hospital.
One night there, a little while after her parents had left, she was only a few days close to her deadline. The day she wouldn't wake up. But she had an unexpected visitor pass by her hospital room. Ashton Demour came walking ever so cautiously into the quiet, empty room. He saw Isa's miserable state and decided to turn her. Originally, he had been there just for the sake of confiscating some blood bags due to the low supply in town. Though he decided he could spare a good deed just this once. And ever since, Isa has been apart of the coven.

Full Name: Zachary Chase
Nicknames: Zac, Zachary
Age: 16 1/2
Gender: Male
Group: Werewolves
Personality: Reckless, loves to have fun, and daring at best. Zac seems not to care about anyone who's in his way, and loves his pack like his brothers and sisters. He'll bump right into you if he thinks you may be a problem, and tends to start things without thinking. But besides that, he loves to crack a joke every now and then just to lighten up the mood.
History: Zac used to live a normal life before he was dared by a few dumb classmates and sent to the forest as his challenge. There he was turned into the creature he is today and he was so traumatized by the accident he never went back to his regular friends again. He stayed in the forest, not knowing how to change back into his wolf form and not really wanting to anyway. He was forced to on the full moons, of course, and eventually got the hang of it. Even though he could have gone back to school and back home, he decided it was best to leave everyone behind. He didn't want to risk A) People asking where he had been all the time he was gone & B) Hurting the ones he loved and trusted. And so, he ran away, eventually becoming a part of the pack and coming to the town.

Full Name: Carrie Carter
Nicknames: Car, Carrie
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Group: Human Student
Personality: Carrie is relatively quiet around most people. Though she's very intuitive, and deeply brave too. Her curiosity sometimes gets the better of her, but you would never know that was a cause for her actions. When things go wrong, she's usually not the first culprit; she's a very good student, studies a lot, and if she ever gets into a troubled situation, it's never entirely her fault. She's the type of person who tends to get 'caught up in things' even if she doesn't meant to.
History: Carrie has lived a pretty normal life, though she's always been into the supernatural. Time and time again, she's been told none of it was real, however, and over the years she learned to silence her dreams from others. When she was younger, she had a worse thing to deal with. Around a few months after her eighth birthday, her mother died in a car accident. This left her and her father alone.
Since then, her father has tried his very hardest to attempt to fall in love again: with no success. Carrie doesn't mind being alone with her father, though. If she were to gain a stepmother, she wouldn't mind that either. She just tries to go with the flow and not to get in anyone's way. She's never been the most popular around school.
In fact, the one time people in school talked to her the most was to give their condolences about her mother. To say 'Oh, I'm sorry about what happened' or 'I hope you feel better soon'. She only has a handful of friends due to her strange personality and overall aura, but she sometimes prefers it that way.

Nicknames: Trav, Travis
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Group: Human Student
Personality: Travis is the type of guy who's loved around school, but tries not to flaunt it. He loves the attention and is incredibly grateful that he's not a social outcast. He's the appreciative person who is thankful for the things they're privileged to have and he's usually mild/neutral on most subjects.. Though he's not big on the supernatural. He's never believed in the stuff, and doesn't have too wide of an imagination. He's of average intelligence, and can come up with an idea pretty quick. Though his plans aren't always full proof.
History: Travis has never really had too tough of a life, but he isn't exactly a full proof student. He's great when it comes to having friends and being grateful, but he's never really experienced 'true life'. He's not sure what it's like to have a tragedy happen with him in it. So when the world suddenly starts overturning with vampires and werewolves, he will find that the supernatural isn't just myths. He will have to cope with the pressure of either believing it or not, and he will find that his life isn't the only one in danger here. He'll have to come to terms with hard core reality. And who knows how that will turn out.

Nicknames: Janess, Jan, Janessa
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Group: Hunters
Personality: Janessa is efficiant, never misses, and doesn't have too much of a sense of humor. She's sensitive, though, and does tend to have sympathy for others much more than she should. This tends to mess with her job a lot. However, you give her an order and she will follow it without question. Even if she feels what she is doing is wrong, she will do what she is told for the sake of not upsetting balance.
History: Janessa went through high school and splashed straight into college. She planned to be a lawyer and was one of the highest in her class. However, the authorities saw something different in her. A passion to strive and please. So they assigned her to be a supernatural hunter. With that, she gave up law school and dropped out of college. She sometimes regrets this, but in the end, she realizes that what she's doing now is much more important. Keeping the city safe from threats such as vampires and werewolves. And keeping the secret hidden from most of the population, as well.

Full Name: John [Slash] Mason
Nicknames: Slash
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Group: Werewolves
Personality: Quiet, untrusting of almost everyone, even though he tries his best to talk to others and make a friend. He's incredibly observant, and braver than you'd often make him out to be. He often keeps his thoughts to himself, and his past is not something he considers an open subject. He's extremely protective of the few he does choose to trust, and will defend his secrets and those in danger with his entire life at stake.
History: John Mason was born into an average family. He had a mother, a father, and an older brother. He seemed to enjoy the aspect of life in general and was a fairly happy kid. His neighborhood had never been marked as dangerous, and so, no one around ever felt the need to be cautious. However, this was their greatest mistake. By believing their home was safe, John's parents had neglected to protect their sons correctly. One night, a man proved their error.
It was midnight. The entire family was asleep and having dreams. John was about 11 at the time. He awoke first, hearing a quiet bang downstairs. Creeping down the steps, he tried to listen for more sounds. Then he heard rummaging in the kitchen. Pots and pans were clattering noisily onto the floor, and John had a sudden and deep feeling of fear creep into his system. By this time, his brother had groggily awoken, but dismissed the sounds and fell back asleep. His parents, on the other side of the house, were too far away to hear anything going on here.
Still, John continued forward. He pressed on into the kitchen until he saw a dark shape somewhere near the stove. When he flipped on the light, however, he gasped. He couldn't stop himself, and the intruder snapped his head in the boy's direction. Knowing his mistake, John tried to back away. Though, the intruder had other plans. Grabbing a kitchen knife, he hustled to the trembling boy. He picked John up by the shoulders and carried him to a nearby chair. Finding wire somewhere nearby, he tied John as tightly as he could to the chair, making sure he couldn't move.
John attempted to get out, but he couldn't break free. The wire was too strong, and his body was too feeble to break away from it. In a desperate attempt to get help, he tried to move the chair and reach the phone just on the counter. However, the strange man came back inside and slammed the chair back against the wall, making sure John was away from any help available to him. Holding the knife to the boy's throat, he slit it ever so gently. It was enough to cause John's first mental scar, and caused a massive amount of bleeding even though the cut had been minor.
The man banged against the walls, in a mad attempt to wake up the rest of the family. John's brother awoke with a start, then, and quickly noticing his brother's absence, hurried to his parent's bedroom and pushed them awake. They all three ran down the stairs in a worried frenzy, fearing for what might be happening. When they finally got to the entrance of the kitchen, they all gasped at the horror. Blood flowed all over the neck line of John's shirt, and he was still bleeding profusely. His breathing was severed and he was forced to struggle for each breath.
John's brother sneaked away from the situation unnoticed. He ran as fast as his feet could carry him to where he knew there was another phone line. And as the intruder became even more hostile back in the kitchen, John's brother dialed 911 in a panic. The intruder had just begun to demand for the family's money, their valuable possessions. John's mother was in tears. His father was trying his best to calm her down and stay strong. He stepped forward and said, "No. Now give us back our son!" His demand didn't go unpunished.
The man slashed against the boy's chest. Strapped in and unable to move, John received the full force of the knife. The man commanded his parents to give him the money once more, and his father continued to step forward cautiously in order to get to John and free him. The man noticed this, however, and grabbed the father's shoulders, killing him in a gruesome scene. John's mother broke down after that, screaming and sobbing and begging for the killer to stop. He replied in an uncaring and harsh tone that he'd stop once she showed him where the money and valuables were.
His mother stayed with the tears still running, frozen in fear and shock. She didn't know what she should do. John's brother had sneaked back to see if his family was okay and had to hold everything in his power not to gasp. Though neither of them moved, and so, the killer turned towards John once again and turned the chair over. He cut the wires off of the chair but they were still entangled all over John. And so, he still couldn't move. The killer then reached for him, and John tried to inch away, scared to death by now, and cried out in agony as another slash came straight into his back. And another right below it, as he tried still to move away.
He curled up into a ball after that, crying and in terrible pain. Just as John's mother unfroze and moved in a haste to grab the money, the police arrived, arresting the killer and taking John into an ambulance. After that tragedy, the family wanted to start fresh. By the time John was 12, they had moved into an entirely different neighborhood and always took precautions, even if it was unnecessary. Both John and his brother were enrolled into new schools, and John's new nickname became 'Slash' overtime due to his graphic scars. John was never the same after that.
Once into high school, he attempted to make more friends. But his life was soon to come into turmoil, as yet another problem would cause his world to turn upside down. Transformation.

Full Name: Derek Harris
Nicknames: Seth
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Group: Hunters
Personality: Derek is definitely not the type to give up, whether it be for himself or for someone else. He used to take things to heart often, but all the hurt has made him stronger over time. Because of his family members and the fact that no one truly accepted him back at home, he used to be quiet and unwilling to talk to anyone at all. Now that he's been on his own, however, he's learned that it was never his fault. He began to embrace his true nature, and became a hard-working, helpful person overtime: more like the way he was before he grew older. He's overjoyed to meet anyone who takes him seriously, and becomes quiet the social butterfly if given a chance. He is a good smooth talker and is often the one of the group who gets the information from city people.
History:
Derek was never normal. At least to his parents. He grew up in a town that was nothing more than skeptical of anything that didn't seem natural. All of their uniformed ways bored Derek. Even as a little kid, he loved to learn about stories and fantasy and things that everyone told him weren't real. He always believed that something had to be out there. He wanted to trust and to know that some kind of thing existed out of the world in this town. Otherwise, life was a waste to him. What was the point of living if everyday you woke up there was nothing to live for?
As he grew older, Derek became more involved in things such as the supernatural and odd occurrences in various cities. His parents shrugged off these activities, warning him that he should do something 'worthy of his time'. They believed that what he was doing wasn't right. It was something only a freak would do. And so each time they caught him doing something they didn't approve of, he was downgraded and forced to hear a speech about what was real and what didn't exist.
This made his hobbies turn to obsessions. Everyday when he came home, Derek would look for more stories and more research. Papers in school turned to jokes in front of the class as he read aloud the beliefs he so thought were real. His classmates would merely snort in their seats and point with bursting laughter. This caused a real problem to arise in Derek's overall self esteem. He began to believe that maybe he really was a freak. Perhaps people lived for the sole purpose of living. Maybe there really wasn't anything there.
However, one morning he woke up from a long night's worth of dreams. It was Monday, a school day of course. Derek shook his head. He pretended to go to school. Before he left, he dumped all of his books and pencils onto his bed, rummaging through all of his stuff in order to find things he would need. He grabbed several pairs of jeans, shorts, and shirts, and some other clothing items he may have needed in the future, went downstairs and sneaked a month's worth of food in ziplocks, stuffed everything in his backpack, and called out to his parents that he would be going.
He never went to school that day. He took off. Being 15, he already had a permit and a car to match. And although the law was that he had to have a licensed driver to accompany him, he broke it. Getting into his car, he sped off in the opposite direction of town, finally landing in a new place. He managed to find a job working at a grocery store, and was always careful to see if anyone was watching while he got into his car alone.
After some time, Derek managed to get a cheap apartment, using some of the money he had earned from his job. He's been living alone every since. And although it's not a preferred life style for most, Derek finds that being understood and living alone is always a hundred times better than being made fun of and surrounded by those who look down on you.
He managed to scrape enough money to get into college, but he was pulled out by the hunter’s group. He was hired because of his history of supernatural interest.

Stacy shoved open the hotel room door with all her force, tripping inside the room and catching herself at the last second. With a heavy sigh, she muttered, "Of course we get the room with the door that sticks." Her plum duffle bag flew across the room as she tossed it inside the cramped room. Inside were two twin beds crowding the entire space, a single closet and dresser, and a simple white door that Stacy assumed led to the bathroom. "I call the closet!" she shouted as she hurriedly jogged over to the tiny closet and kicked off her shoes inside. Finally feeling comfortable, she plopped down on the bed closest to the window with a content grin on her face. "At least this middle of nowhere town has comfortable mattresses," she said off-handedly, tucking her hands underneath her head.

Scotty dumped his suitcase on his bed before exiting from the hotel room. He sauntered across the hall to the room Stacy and Janessa were staying in. He poked his head inside, seeing a room identical to his and Derek's except for the different shade of green painted on the walls. "How you two liking the new arrangements?" he asked, his body still standing out in the hallway.

Luna tapped her foot on the ground in a slow staccato as her eyes fluttered closed in the bright afternoon sun. After the full moon night, she needed some rest. Behind her eyelids, Luna relived her time as wolf, exploring the new territory of this town. Just outside of the city limits stood a thick forest that the pack had spent the night running through. The only downside was that they had been so excited to mark their territory and explore the new land, none of them had gotten very much sleep. Or, at least, Luna hadn't. The image of a gray rabbit running through the brush soon disappeared into blackness as Luna feel more deeply into sleep.

Rafe spread himself out on the couch, propping his feet on one of many unpacked boxes scattered across the living room floor. This morning he had been determined to connect the pack's TV, but now it sat forgotten on the entertainment center with wires tangled all around it. Why did Rafe ever think it a good idea to throw away the directional packet? Oh well. It was too late now. Besides, exhaustion finally began to seep into his veins. His drooping eyes weren't helped by Luna's deep breathes sounding through the cracked open window. Suddenly, his stomach grumbled loudly and cramped up painfully. That deer was finally starting to wear off. With a groan, Rafe pushed himself off the couch and shouted through the house, "Who wants to go get some lunch?"

-~-

Cale slid down the banister of Shadow Mountain Manor, landing silently on the marble floor. "Who's up for a swim before summer ends?!" he called, already clad in his swim trunks and sandals. Realizing that there were only three weeks left before school started again had left Cale in a summer fever.

Sunny plucked the strings of her guitar when Cale's voice traveled up to her room. "I am!" she shouted back excitedly. In a few moments, Sunny set down her guitar and had switched from her pajama outfit to a bikini, tank, and shorts. She trotted down the steps at a relatively human speed while she pulled her long hair into a ponytail. "I'm ready when you are," she said to Cale with a grin.

-~-

Jackson took another sip from his coffee mug, scratching out another line in his notebook. Fresh was nearly empty at this time of day with all the youth either down at the lake or working their summer jobs. He didn't mind the silence inside the bakery though, since it allowed him to concentrate on his new song. It wasn't going so well at the moment. He glanced at his phone, wishing that either Carrie or Chelsea would call for some hanging out time. It had been nearly a week since the three best friends and gotten together, and he kind of missed them.

-~-

Chelsea smeared the bright white washcloth across the already shiny counter, needing something to do other than wait around in anxiety for the lunchtime rush. Her hand moved around in the same circle again and again as she stared out at the sidewalk and the sunny sky, wishing she could go out there herself.

-~

Nessa slowly opened her eyes and glanced at the clock beside her bed, seeing the blinking red numbers telling her it was already well after twelve 'o clock. She groaned as she finally pushed herself out of her bed and shoved her feet into her slippers before dragging herself to the bathroom.

Ooc:// I figured that all the humans wouldn't be friends and to kinda keep them in two separate groups. And, I also added that the popular girl that Jackson has a crush on his Nessa.

Janessa rolled her eyes playfully, smirking as she watched her fellow hunter struggling to get the door open. She was right, though. What luck they had to have had indeed to get the one room in the entire excuse for a hotel that has a sticking handle. She didn't move as Stacy stumbled inside, knowing full well beforehand that such a thing might happen. Once her colleague was through the door, though, Janessa allowed herself to step inside as well. She blinked in surprise as Stacy immediately called the closet, but she wasn't too disappointed. She had always been the type to use drawers anyways, after all. "That's alright," she said in response. She followed Stacy's example by dumping her large backpack onto the floor and heaving her tired body onto her mattress. "Sure got that right," she said in a relaxed sort of tone.

Derek managed to stuff a few important items in his first drawer before finally letting his guard down and following Scotty to the girls' room. He strutted over to stand behind Scotty and let a playful smirk cross his lips as he said after his partner, "Yeah, it isn't too shabby now is it?" In return, Janessa shot him an 'Are you kidding me?' look.

~~

Zac had just been marching into the living room, ready to ask his fellow pack member, Rafe, whether or not the TV was finally up and running, when Rafe asked if anyone was hungry. Zac lifted an excited hand, wanting to explore more of this city - in particular, the actual city part. He used the same lifted hand to scratch the back of his hair, feeling a particularly irritating itch right in that spot. Perhaps there were still some leftover fleas from the night before. Usually when he transformed, they all went away until the next month. Something about how fleas only liked fur, not hair. Zac grinned after doing this, forgetting about the itch for the moment. "I'm starved and ready to go!" Despite the fact that they had indeed been running around all night as wolves, Zac was never the type to mope around in a tired state.

John, on the other hand, was sitting near Luna, not really wanting to meet the new townsfolk of the place they decided to move. He was very hungry, though. He hadn't gotten much sleep, like the rest of his pack mates, but that didn't seem to concern him so much. "I'll go," he said. "I don't really remember when the last time I ate was, to be honest..." he trailed off, planning on catching those extra z's when they came back from lunch.

~~

Isa had heard Cale all the way from her room when he started changing into his beach outfit, and so she had done the same. She came down stairs and threw her arms to the side to allow the others a better look. "How do I look?" She asked excitedly. She was smiling a wide grin, unable to contain the joy she felt at being able to go out and have some fun in the water. Ashton, quite the contrary, wasn't feeling up to it. Isa slowly walked up to him, nudging his shoulder. He turned minimally, and then back again, forcing her to poke him repeatedly. When he finally turned the second time, she said, "Aren't you coming?"

He hesitated at first, not sure whether it was a good idea or not. After a few moments thought, he finally caved, deciding that if he was with his coven, he would be perfectly fine. He let a smirk crack upon his lips as he finally answered, "Sure." Isa clapped her hands almost immediately, saying, "Well then, get a move on! Chop chop, Ash!" Ashton shook his head, getting up from the couch and going upstairs. "Let me get a blood bag real quick and then I'll be ready, okay?"

~~

Travis had been awake for quite a while now. Checking his watch, he suspected it to be a bit past 12. That would make it three hours since he had been up. Sighing, he walked around his kitchen and grabbed yet another bowl of cereal. He'd been increasingly hungry over the past few days, and he wasn't sure if it was due to hormones or boredom. After he poured the milk, he sat down at the counter, wondering how long his parents would take to get back home from work. Oh well, it didn't matter much at the moment. He grabbed his cell phone from the other end of the counter, fingering his contacts to see who he should invite to take a swim.

~~

Carrie had been reading a book for about half an hour now, unsure of what she should do on this perfectly weathered day. She contemplated going for a swim, or taking a walk outside, but those things would be rather lonely if she were to do them by herself. After taking a brief pause from her fiction book to look out the window, Carrie resumed her reading, hoping that something she could do would pop into her mind soon.

Stacy rolled over on to her side to face the two boys standing in the door way, glaring menacingly at both of them. "Seriously?" she asked with irritation, her good mood quickly evaporating as she finally took a look around the room. Her bed nearly touched the window, prevently a clear view of the air conditioning system below it. The pastel green walls were faded in some areas while vibrant in others. Even worse, the channel list hanging over the ancient television only contained ten names. Stacy jumped up from her bed, heading over to her duffle bag and pulling out her favorite cotton blanket that traveled everywhere with her. She sat back down on the bed, draping the worn out fabric over her shoulders and made a pouty face at the room. "How long do we have to stay here?"

Scotty chuckled at Stacey's jutted out lower lip as he sauntered into the room and sat down on top of the dresser at the foot of Janessa's bed. "I don't know what you two our complaining about," he said in a disbelieving tone, obviously fake. "I mean, our room is the ideal living quarters for any monster hunter out in the field." His notorious smirk graced his lips as he glanced at Derek and asked, "Right?"

Luna was jostled awake from her nap by the annoyingly loud voice of Zac. She nearly fell to the ground as she jumped in surprise at being woken. She huffed out a growl and sat up, glaring at Zac in a way only a wolf could, as if she wanted nothing more than to rip out his throat. "Some of us are trying to sleep here," she snarled. "I'd appreciate some quiet."

"Calm down, Moon," Rafe said, using his nickname for her to try to relax her frazzled nerves. She sent him a glare as well, though not filled with as much hatred as the one for Zac had contained. "We're just planning to go into town for some lunch. Would you like to come?" His voice was soft though he was careful not to sound too condescending. He knew how cranky Luna was after being woken up.

She opened her mouth to snapped out a no, but the hollowness in her stomach stopped her. Going out for food actually was a pretty good idea, but she was in no mood to throw compliments around. "I guess so," she grumbled, standing up and stetching her hand up in order to crack her back. After a large yawn, Luna shook off the wariness of lack of sleep and headed towards the door without checking to see if the others were coming.

Sunny grinned at Isa. "You look absolutely wonderful." She giggled at Isa's excitement to head to the beach, feeling pretty anxious to go herself. After Ashton finally agreed to go with the rest of them, Sunny's attitude lightened even more, if that was possible. "Well hurry up, sunshine! We're wasting daylight!" She smiled at Ashton to show she was only kidding, but she actually was feeling very impatient to get there. She bounced up and down on the balls of her feet to conain her pent up energy. She normally wasn't like this, but her calm shell cracked more and more every day she spent cooped up inside. She had spent most of the summer lazing around, and like Cale, finding out the break was almost over had sent her into a frenzy to do something fun.

Cale shrugged at Ashton as he stepped up to grab a blood bag before the trip. Cale suppressed the urge to tease him about having a little snack before heading to the buffet, but Cale realized that Ashton had a harder time controlling his thirst than Cale, Isa, or Sunny. "We'll be waiting," he called to Ashton as he took a seat on the stairs, leaning back to relax his back against the polished wood.

Jackson scibbled out nearly half of his notebook page in frustion. No good words rhymed with "echo" and he was done racking his brain for one. He finished off the last gulp of his coffee before gathering his notebooks and pencils and shoving them inside his ragged messerenger bag. He hitched the strap over his shoulder, dropped the mug off at the counter, and waved goodbye to the elderly lady who owned the bakery. He pulled his out-dated phone from his pocket as he walked the few blocks to his house. Barely glancing at the numbers, he dialed up Carrie's number without even bothering to scroll through his contacts. He didn't really have anything in mind as he lifted the phone to his ear, but he wanted to do something more than hanging out at Fresh alone all day.

Chelsea glanced behind her as her father exited the tiny office tucked into a spare room behind the counter. He was carrying a baby blue peice of paper that had HELP WANTED printed in bold at the top. Curiously, Chelsea watched her father tape it on the front window. When he turned around to face her questioning gaze, he finally explained. "Tony's heading back to college today."

"Which explains why he is an hour late for his shift," Chelsea commented grumpily. Tony was possibly the most irresponsible boy in town, but he did good work when he actually remembered to check the scheduale. It would have been nice to have some notice since the eighteen or older students holding a summer job were retiring for the year and the younger half of the student population was cramming in all their summer activities at the same time. Mr. Richmond liked to hire a few highschool students around this time to take the college students place, but Tony had failed to give him a head start on that. Which meant Chelsea would be working the busiest shift of the day alone.

"I called your mother. She'll be here soon," her dad called over his shoulder as he returned to his kitchen lair at the same time the door opened to a large group of young teenagers. They brought with them the scenets of the lake: sunscreen and muddy water and fresh air. Chelsea held back a groan as she put on a smile and walked over to their table. Her mother better get here sooner than soon.

Nessa groggily brushed her teeth and hair, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She really had to stop slipping in so late or else the transition back to early school mornings would be hell. She splashed some water on her face in an attempt to wake herself up. It didn't really work. Moving on to Plan B, Nessa grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank from her dresser while knotting her hair on the top of her head. The sun was shining beauitfully, and it was a great weather for a run around the neighborhood. She slipped on some tennis shoes, plucked her iPod from her nightstand, and switched her phone to silent. She jogged down the steps of the silent house, a sure sign her parents weren't coming home for their lunch hour. As she headed out the door, Nessa plopped her phone in her pocket and blasted her iPod to an up beat, country song about the joys of summer. Hopefully, the lyrics would motivate her to do something during this sunny break from school other than sleeping it away.

Derek, playing along with Scotty's antics, said smoothly, "Absolutely! Why," he put his palm to his heart, indicating that he was 'surprised' at Janessa and Stacy's dislike of the place, "it's definitely wonderful in my opinion!" After the laughter of him and his comrade subsided, Derek just smiled vaguely. "Look," he said in a mildly more serious tone. "We're here to catch some vampires or werewolves or whatever the heck is going bump in the night around here, okay? We put the people's safety before our own comfort, and yeah this place sucks but small city hotels usually do." He crossed his arms around his chest and leaned his back further on the wall (he had moved there quite a while ago before closing the door). "Now, are we going to talk about strategy or are we going to lay around moping all day?" As he chuckled lightly in an attempt to brighten up the dampened mood, Janessa shot him a disapproving look. She was just so exhausted. She couldn't believe they had to work the second they got there.

~~

Zac couldn't help but laugh at Luna. Her insults didn't really hurt him as badly as they could have had he been a normal person, but being as he was overly excited and happy all the time, it didn't really concern him what others shot his way. In fact, he was sort of oblivious to the fact that she was attempting to shut him up. "Aw come on, Luna! Quiet is way too boring anyway!" When she walked towards and through the door, though, he merely blinked, swiftly turned his head to see Rafe's following action, and when none came after about 2 seconds, Zac followed her merrily out the door. John, who was still sitting on the couch, chose to go after Rafe.

~~

Ashton made it upstairs in a flash, and by the time he hear scale call that they'd be waiting, he had already reached the small freezer where the coven kept their supply of blood bags. It was running low. Ashton would have to remind himself to restock when they came back later. Otherwise, well... Ashton pulled the blood bag open, drinking it hastily before crumpling it up and throwing it in the trash. It would have to be enough to suffice.

He headed over to the drawer in his room and captured some black swimming trunks from inside it. He slipped it on with ease, changed his shirt to a white one, and was back downstairs in about three more minutes. Isabella rose up from her sitting position like a bolt of lightning, rearing to go and just burst through the door in order to get to the beach. Ashton didn't really need to announce the fact that he was ready because of this, but he decided to anyways out of tradition's sake. "Back," he said simply, feeling refreshed and a lot more able to handle crowds now that he had had some blood. And with a shock of irony, Ashton suddenly remembered that although he was second oldest in this coven (second only to Sunny), he probably had the most trouble controlling himself around blood. He vaguely wondered why that was as he headed out the front door after Isa.

~~

Travis had tried calling Jackson, but it seemed as though the phone was busy. Shrugging, he noticed Nessa's name on his contacts as he fingered through the last name starting with 'M'. "Nessa!" He said as if he had just experienced an epiphany, and clicked her number before he even had time to think over his decision. As he waited for her to pickup, he nudged the phone between his ear and his shoulder blade, using both of his hands to pick up his empty cereal bowl (filled only with a tiny bit of swishing milk at the bottom) and drop it off over by the sink.

~~

Carrie, in the midst of reading an extremely interesting section of her book, had completely forgotten any and all hopes for plans of the day. As she was immersed in her fictional world of fantasy, her phone rang. She jumped as she crashed back into reality, but far from being sulky about the interruption, she answered her phone with a smile. "Hello?" she said happily, though she didn't need to hear who's voice it was at the end. She knew it was Jackson because of caller ID. She hoped he had at least a smidgen of a plan more than she did of what they could possibly do.

Scotty's wide, chuckling smile faded into a closed-up grimace that hide all of his white teeth as Derek brought up the business of the four of them being present in NightShade. Scotty pulled his legs up on the dresser he was sitting upon, his hands hanging limply and resting on his knees while he leaned his back against the wall. His eyes wondered up to the grayish ceiling which seemed like it was white at one time or another, and Scott thought more about what could possible make a ceiling that gaunt than the strategy discussion going on around him.

With a sad but determined sigh, Stacy slid the blanket from her shoulder and pursed her lips. They all knew that business started as soon as they arrived, but Stacy had hoped to squeeze in a short nap before they started chasing vampires around the town. But Derek was right. They had lots of work to do. "Well, let’s review what we've got to go on," Stacy stated in her all business voice. She barely glanced at Scotty who she could tell by his blank stare upwards wasn't paying attention at all. "It's not much, but we know that NightShade medical was missing quite a few bags of blood that they were supposed to send to Mountain Sun hospital after their big summer blood drive. The cover story is that a box just got misplaced, but we all know that something else is going on. After all, who loses a whole box of blood bags? The biggest clue is that it happens every blood drive, which means there has to be vamps involved. That much blood could keep one vampire alive for well over a year, so there must be at least two or three to need that much every couple of months. So I guess the best plan is to start at the source, at NightShade Medical. See if there's any way a vampire could sneak in."

"Or maybe there's someone on the inside handing it out," Scotty suggested, still staring up and looking like he's talking to the ceiling. He finally lowered his neck to stare at his comrades and shrug at them. "I mean, why else would this have happened for so long without anyone reporting it until now?"

Luna finally halted after trotting down the steps of their newly rented house, which was a little rough and not exactly in prime condition, but it worked for the four wolves. Lifting her nose to scent the air with her keen senses, Luna immediately smelled the greasy goodness of a slab of meat cooking on a grill. There was definitely a burger cooking nearby. She headed down the sidewalk, only glancing back to see Zac following her lead. With her head held high, she did all she could to ignore his presence.

Rafe shrugged at Slash as Luna head out the door, Zac walking after her. "I guess we're going right now," he said as he stood up from the couch. As he passed the door, he swiped Luna's flip flops from the floor, noticing that she had walked outside without putting them on. By the time he was out on the porch, Luna was already half way towards the strong scent of cooking beef, which sent Rafe's stomach growling hungrily. "I guess she'll realize she doesn't have them soon enough," he mumbled, half to Slash and half to himself as he walked at a slightly brisk pace to catch up with Zac.

"Well finally," Cale said with dramatic irritation, only able to keep his annoyed frown for a second before it split into a grin. He jumped up from his place on the stairs, rushing towards the door in a second. Instead of going out after Ashton, he held the door open and bowed dramatically to Sunny. "After you, madam," he teased, keeping his head ducked low so no one could see his laughing face, but his slightly shaking shoulders gave him away.

"Why, thank you, monsieur," Sunny shrilled in her best attempt at a European accent, but of which country exactly, no one could tell. She pranced out the door, spinning on her toes gracefully as Cale followed behind and shut the door. Coming to a stop from her little dance, Sunny said off-handedly, "By the way, we are running out of juice, aren't we?" She directed the question at Ashton, using her code name for the blood bags which she had gotten in the habit of using even when there were no humans around. She didn't wait for an answer and went on. "I think Tom's holding another box for us down at the medical. Perhaps we should pick it up on our way home," she suggested. Tom Kingsley was one of two doctors who worked at NightShade Medical, and also the more younger and gullible one. He didn't ask questions when the coven came to pick up their supply and handed him over an envelope of cash that paid for his silence. They had been doing this gig for almost two years now, but Sunny sometimes secretly wondered how long it would take the authorities to start questioning the missing blood.

"Hey, Car," Jackson greeted, nodding his head as if she was standing in front of him and shaking his head at himself for doing so. "I'm walking back from Fresh with nothing to do today, and I was just wondering if you wanted to go down to the lake or something. We could even drop by Dainty's to see if Chelsea will be free soon." There was hardly a time when Jackson hung out with only one of the girls that were his two best friends. It wasn't that he didn't want to hang out with only Carrie, but he felt a lot more comfortable with the two girls to keep each other busy chatting while Jackson played the role of the quiet one. It's hard to be the one who doesn't say much when there are only two of you.

Chelsea hummed along to the cheerful love song coming from the jukebox as she poured seven glasses full of her famous lemonade. Well, no one in town really knew that it was Chelsea who made the lemonade, and they probably also didn't know it was homemade, but Chelsea felt accomplished every time someone ordered a glass anyways. "Everyone else in the room can see it. Everyone else but you," Chelsea quietly sung under her breath as she lifted the tray of glasses with on hand and headed over to the table of teens. Luckily, this group was quietly chatting, apparently tired out from a day at the lake and too exhausted to be rowdy. Chelsea didn't mind lazy groups like this and she could only hope that the rest of the costumers would be this polite.

Nessa barely jogged down her street when he phone vibrated violently in her pocket. She tugged her ear buds from her ears, probably not as gently as she should have, and slowed down her pace as she grabbed her phone from her pocket. The caller ID told her Travis was on the other line. Deciding she could take a break from her run to talk to someone who could very well be the hottest guys in town. Oh, and her best friends. She skidded to a stop at the same time she tapped the answer button on the touch screen. She brought the phone to her ear and chirped in greeting, "Hello, stranger! What an honor it is to finally get a call from you."

Full Name: Johnathon Anasazi
Nicknames: Johnny
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Group: Hunters
Personality: Dispite his tough exterior when dealing with monsters, Johnny is very sweet natured. He would give his life for his friends and family in a second. Because the amount of love he feels for family and friends, when one of them gets hurt or killed he gets an overwhleming desire for revenge. He battles with himself for control over his anger. When he lets his anger take control, he tends to lash out irrationally.
History: Johnny grew up in Arizona. His father, Max, his mother, Lily, his brother, Dave, and him were a close family. They were wealthy, seeing as Johnny's mother came from a rich family and was a lawyer. Max, however, had been a hunter until Johnny started school, when he decided his kids were growing up fast and he had to be home with them more. The two boys had no idea about their father's past as a hunter.
One evening, the night of a full moon, when Johnny was 14, his father was two hours late and he hadn't called them to let them know. Johnny was determined that there was something wrong but his mother kept insisting that everything was fine. He snuck out of the house that night and found his father in the alley behind his office with a large man yelling about revenge.
Johnny stayed away and evesdropped, trying to figure out what was happening and what he could do. The man revealed that Johnny's father had killed his wife and now he had to take care of their daughter all on his own. Johnny felt his stomach drop, unable to believe what he had just heard. It couldn't be true. His father was no murderer.
As the man continued, his sentances turned into ramblings. He kept calling Johnny's father a hunter, over and over again until finally, he let out a mangled yell in a fit of range and then all Johnny could hear was snarling. When silence finally settled, Johnny was working up the courage to look around the corner. Before he could, a huge wolf bolted past him. Johnny had stared after it in shock then quickly looked around the corner. His father's dead body was laying there.
Unable to handle it anymore, he ran away that night. He couldn't face his mother or his brother. He couln't deal with pretending he hadn't seen anything or telling everyone. No one would believe him. He had heard the man's name and he swore to get revenge.
When he reached a city in California, he hit the library and began research. He figured out that the thing that killed his father was a werewolf and his father must have been a hunter. He wrote down everything he remembered from his father's killer and set to work.
After a year of tracking, he found the wolf and killed it. He kept hunting on his own and eventually ran into the group of hunters. He agreed to join them and has been with them ever since.

Full Name: Darrell Kinnean
Nicknames: Dare
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Group: Hunters
Personality: Dare is a reckless soul. He often throws caution to the wind if it does not suit him in that moment in time. Anone who knew him when he was a child would not recognize him as an adult. Before the attack, he was calm, gentle, and careful. Now, he'd leap into battle with a werewolf or vampire without a second thought. He's quite harsh and acts like if someone ever double crossed him it'd be easy to kill them but in reality he never could. Once he views someone as family, that's that. He knows this and hates that side of him and always tries to smother it. When he's in a relaxed setting with the group, he begins to become a tiny bit more like the kid he used to be.
History: Darrell grew up with his parents and his younger brother, Richie. They didn't have much money but they were happy. He and Richie would play catch right when they got home from school and after dinner the whole family would sit down and play a game.
When Dare was 15, the four of them were walking home from Richie's school play when they were jumped by a large werewolf. Darrell's mother screamed for him to grab his younger brother and run. He did as she said and tried not to listen as his parents were killed by the beast.
Dare could see the house as he led his little brother down the road. Richie, only 10, was having trouble keeping up but Darrell wouldn't leave him. He would lay down his life for his brother. With that thought in mind, Darrell got a plan. He shoved Richie ahead and yelled at him to go as fast as he could. As his brother ran, Darrell turned to face the beast.
It took only half a second for it to reach him. It knocked him over instantly and Darrell was filled with thankfullness that his brother was safe. Then he heard his brother hollaring insults at it, trying to get it to go for him. The wolf dug its claws in him as it leapt off and bolted for his brother. Darrell rolled onto his stomach and was trying to get up as the wolf reached Richie.
Unable to look away, Darrell watched the horrible event that changed his life. He froze, unable to move, wanting to die. The wolf turned to him again and began coming closer. Dare closed his eyes, waiting for it. But before it happened, he heard a gun shot and a howl. He looked up and saw the wolf drop to the ground. He turned his head to the right and saw a tall man kneeling beside him.
"Did it bite you?" the man had asked gruffly, eyeing his wounds. Darrell shook his head and the man nodded. He told him that he'd call the cops, report and attack, and everything would be fine. He went to leave but Darrell insisted he tell him what happened, surprising himself when he managed words. He didn't feel like he could even breathe with his world falling down around him. The man heaved a sigh then explained about monsters and monster hunters, like himself. When he finished, he left without a word.
Darrell was taken into foster care. He was haunted by the memories of the attack and had nightmares every night. Hatred filled him and he became solitary and quiet. The other boys often laughed at him or ignored him. He was the weird kid that studied monsters at every waking minute. He graduated school quickly now that he had no social life to interrupt his work. After that, the potential to be a great hunter shone in him and he was sent to the group. He bonded with Johnny as soon as he joined the group and views him as a younger brother.

Other: Darrell wears a worn hoodie that had belonged to his father during winters, even if it's too cold for the hoodie. A few of his many scars are from the werewolf that had killed his family but most are from his tendancy to be reckless while hunting.

Gender: female
Group: Werewolves

She's usually laid back but she is very stubborn and hardheaded. She hates hunters and thinks all they do is cause pain and suffering. She also has little to no patience with vampires but doesn't dislike them like she does hunters.
History: Jaimie's parents were changed when she was a baby. They were lone wolves. They lived normal lives in Oregon and didn't cause any problems for anyone else. But then her mother was killed by a hunter when she was a baby. When she was 11, her father disappeared one night. She assumed it was a hunter and prepared himself in case eh came to the house for her too.
The next morning, her father came home and went straight to bed. She couldn't figure it out. Where had he been? When he woke up, he wouldn't talk about it. He refused to tell her anything. Finally, she gave up.
Then, when she was 12, her father didn't come home again. This time, she wasn't going to let the mystery go unsolved. She tracked him and got there just in time to see a hunter standing over her father. "My name's Johnny. Remember me? You killed my father last year," he told her father, fury flashing in his gaze. Before she could move, he shot him. Furious, she hurled herself at the hunter. She wrestled with him for a while but soon realized she wasn't near trained enough. This hunter was prepared. She ripped herself away and fled but she could never forget his face. He was only about three years older than her and she swore she would find him.
Furious, she trained herself in the way of fighting and eventually managed to find a werewolf to change her. It was a dangerous move, since the werewolf was looking for a kill but she managed to get away after she was bitten. Soon after, she found the pack.

History: Tyler was walking home from college one night when he was attacked by a huge wolf. He heard shouting while he was being attacked and when he woke up he was in the hospital. His rommate told him that he was attacked by an animal and was going to be okay. Tyler didn't think much about it. The hospital let him out earlier than expected. Everyone was shocked at the recovery.
He started to get stronger when he worked out. He couldn't explain it, he just knew he was better. His roommate, however, grew weary of him. He seemed to think something weird was going on. Tyler believed it was just a miracle. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?
One full moon, he and his rommate, who thought he should get help, were arguing and Tyler changed shape and attacked him. He left home immediately, disgusted with himself.

Gender: Male

Personality: Drake is a prankster who loves everyone; well, everyone who isn't a hunter. Although he's stubborn and has a mind of his own, he can't stand independance. If he isn't with people, he isn't having fun. For him quiet time is sitting in a loud room filled with people while he reads.
History: Drake was living on the streets when he was changed. A vampire named Ray in need of a companion found him and changed him. Drake found that this life was much better than the life he was living. The only thing that truly bothered him was that he couldn't be in the sun.
However, a decade after he began traveling with Ray, Ray was killed by a hunter. Ray hadn't been attacking anyone or doing anything to upset the hunter. This broke Drake's heart and the trust he always put on everybody. He traveled alone for about a few years. It was during this time that he realized how much he missed company. He was a people person, that was that. He began to sink into a depression.
After a while, he met a friendly witch in a small town who warned him against hunters in the town. After Drake told her he didn't care anymore, she brought him to her home where she gave him a bracelet to let him stay in the sun. It was amazing how much this ability brightened his life. He was able to walk in town with people again. Just being around people made him feel less alone. He began to live his life and stayed in the most social places he could.

Eventually her sivlings, who she had loved very much, moved out of the house, leaving her with her two parents who disapproved of her acting passion.

Full Name: Bane Williams
Nicknames: Bane
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Group: Human Students
Personality: Bane is tough and intimidating. He plays football and loves to try to intimidate the other team before the game. He acts like he doesn't care about anybody but stays loyal and loving to the people in his life that care about him. He's very calculating and can often see flaws in plans before they happen.
History: Bane was in foster care until he was twelve. Then he was adopted by a kind couple that gave him everything he needed. His adoptive father was the joke of the office at work. Bane, who used to walk to his work every day after school, was disgusted by the way people treated him and laughed at him. By the time he was 14, he began standing up for his father when people would laugh at him. He used his large size to intimidate them and kept doing it . They kept carpooling everyday, even when Bane got his licence. Bane partly wanted to do it so he could help his father at work.
This attitude he picked up was impossible for him to get rid of. Disgusted with the "cool" crowd like the one that picked on his father, Bane seperated himself from nearly everyone at school, ignoring the fact that most people weren't like that. He focused everything into school and football.

He is himself through and through and he makes it clear that that isn't going to change. He loves his grandmother more than anything and is very loyal to her.
History: Joey's parents died when he was young so his grandmother raised him. She taught him to be a gentleman, do the best he could in school, and always follow his heart. He kept those virtues close to him and that was why people were drawn to him. His life up to his point has been rather uneventful but he's always been excitable and has always wanted some adventure.

Johnny walked into the girls' room after leaving his stuff in his hotel room and leaned against the wall, looking around. He finally let his gaze settle on Scotty. "Well," he said softly, "there's an interesting thought. Something we don't see everyday for sure. But a good point. Surely they would have noticed..." He sighed. "But I suppose we should go to Night Shade Medical to check it out anyway, right?" He wished he could just stay in his room and rest. He hadn't had time to just read a book in a while. However, the vampires weren't going to wait for him to be ready.

Darrell nodded, eyes hard as he switched into work mode. "Absolutely," he replied without a second thought. "We have to be thorough. If we don't do the job correctly, these things get away and live. We can't let that happen." He was exhausted but completely ready to go. His job was hard and he accepted that. It was how it was and he had to be good at his job or risk lives. He crossed his arms across his chest and looked around the room.

~

Jaimie yawned as she trotted after the others. Although she was physically tired, her mind was wide awake. This was partly due to her stomach. She put one of her hands in her pocket as she walked. She hoped that when they got back she'd be able to take a nap. Even if she felt awake, she knew that she had to take care of herself and let herself rest. She'd regret it if she didn't. As much as she loved exploring new territory, she hated catching up on rest the next day.

Tyler loped near the front of the group. As exhausted as he was, he still managed to find energy to keep his excited attitude. "I'm loving the new area," he said to no one in particular. "I like exploring." He smiled to himself and stretched as he walked. When they got back, he was definitely taking a nap. Being enthusiastic was exhausting all on its own, even when he was more rested than he was today. Pretending to be happy with what he was wasn't an easy thing to do. It was quite difficult. But he was determined to do it. No one had to know how he really felt about what they were.

~

Lacy let a small smile slip onto her face as she watched. They were an interesting group, that was for sure. Not that she'd straight out admit it to anyone, but she liked this group. "That'd be a good idea. We can't exactly let ourselves run out, can we?" They were lucky to be able to get blood from Tom. It was the easiest way to stay fed without attracting attention. If they began attracting attention, hunters would be some of the first to come to them. That was the last thing they needed.

Drake grinned around at the coven. "Then let's do it when we're done." The coven he was part of now had saved his life. He had been getting tired of going from town to town, always trying to make new friends. It was a lonely life and he struggled when he was lonesome. then he had found this coven and everything began to be better for him. He'd do anything for them in a heartbeat.

~

Joey grinned at his grandmother and then looked back at his notes. "Hmm... I think I'm catching on grandma. I may beat you this time." She just chuckled at him. They were playing 21B Baker Street and he was determined to win this time. Although winning didn't really matter. He just loved spending this time with his grandma.
"Well, Joey, you know what I always say," his grandma replied. She smiled at him. Joey smiled back. He loved his grandma and couldn't imagine life without her. He'd be bored without her. She was always wanting to pay a game or watch a movie or go out. she was always entertaining doing all of those things. "Don't count on it." She gave him a wink and went back to the start to make her guess as to what happened. Joey laughed, already knowing he just lost.

~

Stella spread out in the grass in the park, staring at the clouds. She couldn't wait for school to start so she could start acting again. Her parents would always think it was a waste of time but Stella knew better. She knew that whatever she loved was not a waste. She had talent. So many people had told her that again and again. The last thing she wanted to do was waste that gift. She only wished she could make her parents understand that.

~

Bane walked around town, hands in his pockets. He wished he could find a way to keep his father away from the jerks in the office but every time he suggested changing jobs, his father just told him that he liked his job. Bane scoffed to himself as he thought about it. How could anyone enjoy a job where they were mocked over and over? He felt angry as he thought about the teasing his father went through all the time. He wished he could rub off on him and make him realize that he just had to show them that they had to leave him alone.

OOC: Oh snap! I finally see where the story is going. *facepalm* Nice going, Rose! This oughta get some Draaamaa going. >D

Derek nodded absently, choosing not to say something because, frankly, he was out of good ideas at the moment. He looked from one comrade to the other and wondered somewhere in the back of his mind whether they’d be able to find such an elusive group of vampires. “How can they possibly stay hidden, though? I mean, if you think about it, a group of adults traveling into the hospital every now and then must be suspicious. Do you think it’s possible they live in town or near it?”

Janessa thought for a moment before saying, “Well, that’s a start.” She listened to Derek’s doubts and answered after a few seconds more, “They most likely do live in town, seeing as no one has noticed a thing for a while. The age group could be a bit iffy, though…” she trailed off, trying to think. Perhaps one of the others would have a better idea as to their ages. “I do think you guys are right, though. Our first priority should be NightShade Medical.”

~~

Zac couldn’t help but crack a grin as he noticed Luna ignoring him. Though he continued to follow her all the same. “Hey, Luna! Am I annoying you?” He called towards her, simply to make conversation but also to have something of a laugh. He saw Jaimie, Slash, and Rafe behind him, and noticed quickly that Tyler was now beside him. He always liked Tyler, since the kid was so enthusiastic and outgoing. Their personalities were somewhat similar, and Zac found that although sending puns back and forth with Luna was fun, he could have a much better time just conversing with Tyler. “I know, right?” he replied with the same grin he had cracked moments ago.

Slash couldn’t help but let a smile pass as he followed Rafe out the door. “She really is feisty, isn’t she?” he said, looking out past the door before he stepped over the threshold. “Well, I don’t blame her,” he said a short pause later. “I’m hungry as well. Though it would look a bit less obvious if she wore her shoes some places.” He let a short and somewhat quiet laugh cross his lips, and for some reason John felt he hadn’t done so in a while.

~~

Ashton nodded, agreeing with Sunny and Lacy. “Yeah, sounds good,” he said a bit more to himself than anything, although he meant it to be louder. He wondered to himself why he was so prone to bloodlust even though he should be used to it by now. After all, he was the oldest in the coven if you miscounted Sunny. That meant that if the others could handle it, he should be able to just as well… right? For some reason, he had a harder time than the others, and it irritated him to no end because the reasons eluded him.

Isa was quite happy on the other hand. The innocent, social vampire of the group was skipping her way behind the others, not able to stand waiting any longer to get to their destination. Although she chose not to say much in agreement with the others, she did manage a, “Yup!” She thought her opinion was pretty much spoken of already, since the others held one similar to hers. Sunny was right. They needed to restock.

~~

Travis couldn’t surpress a genuine laugh as he heard Nessa’s response. “Well, I have been preparing for the perfect summer swim. You up to going to the lake later?” He said, unable to keep the smirk off his face either. He let his voice slide out smoothly, as it normally did, even when he wasn’t conscious of it. Nessa was in fact one of the best friends he had, and honestly, he was surprised with himself for not calling her sooner into the summer vacation. He decided to convey this by saying, “Sorry I didn’t call earlier. Don’t know what came over me.” He let another small chuckle out before going silent to allow Nessa time to respond.

~~

Carrie’s face suddenly brightened as she listened to Jackson’s suggestion of a day at the lake with Chelsea. “Sounds awesome! Where do you want to meet? If I’m not mistaken, Chelsea should be off soon. And if not,” she added in a low voice so as to sound humorously mysterious, “we can always find ways to persuade her boss to let her off early.” She grinned to herself.

Ooc:// Moki - Haha, I know! I am so excited!

Scotty processed everything said in the room, though a bored expression remained on his face. His sharp mind started to put some of the pieces together and calculating some numbers. The incomplete box of blood bags had been reported to the hunters three days ago and had arrived at Mountain Sun Hospital two days before. Adding in the fact that it took nearly a whole day to get the blood to Mountain Sun, Scotty figured out that the missing box had only been missing for maybe six days. To vampires, this was a very short amount of time, so it was very unlikely that if they were being given it by a doctor, they probably hadn't visited NightShade Medical to pick it up yet.

All this had processed in his mind as Stacy had agreed with the others and was already slipping on the boots she had kicked off earlier. "Hold up," he said quickly, wanting to stop everyone from going to NightShade Medical right at that moment. He didn't want to tell everyone what he had inferred yet, so he stuttered out any explanation as to why he had stopped everyone from leaving. "Maybe... maybe we should wait till night fall. To see, uh, who’s out at that time. We can look while we, um, go to the medical. Ya know, kill two birds with one stone..." His last statement came out more as a question than a statement, only adding to the illusion that he was an incompetent hunter and not all that bright.

Stacy opened her mouth to tell Scotty how stupid that plan was, but despite how poorly he declared it, it did make sense. Not wanting to be proven wrong, though, Stacy quickly retorted, "Well it wouldn't do any harm to go twice, now would it?" She glanced around at the others, hoping they would take her side instead of Scotty's.

-~-

Luna repressed a growl at Zac, trying not to be annoyed by his question knowing full well that if she seemed irritated, it would only make him laugh at her. Still, she was unable to bit her tongue hard enough and replied coolly, "Your very existence puts me on edge, Zac. I would appreciate it if you fixed that." She gave him a tight, ill-humored grin before quickening her pace to storm in front of the two boys. Luna rolled her eyes at Zac and Tyler as they expressed their enthusiasm very excitedly and loudly and brightly. Her exhaustion left her without any decent remark for the two of them, so instead she muttered under her breath, "Pups," and tried not to acknowledge them.

Rafe chuckled at Slash's comment, shaking his head at how true that statement was. "You alright back there, Jaimie?" Rafe asked her, noticing her lagging behind. Despite her bright, awake eyes, her wide yawn and sluggish pace proved how tired she was really feeling.

-~-

Cale nodded in agreement. "When we're done," he said, repeating Drake's statement to emphasize that he wasn't going to be thinking about anything about the blood supply until after he had fun at the lake. Out of nowhere, he suddenly took off running at nearly full speed, gently hitting into Drake's shoulder and bumping hips with Isa. "Race ya!" he shouted over his shoulder as he ran through the woods as fast as he could without running into a tree or tripping on a root.

Sunny giggled at Cale, slowly jogging after him as she said, "It's settled, then. But you're not going to beat me!" She smiled brightly at Ashton and Lacy before speeding passed them, her bright laughter echoing through the trees as she sprinted through them, barely catching up to Cale but determined to pass him.

-~-

Jackson thought about the best place to meet Carrie as he walked up the driveway of his house. "Do you just wanna meet up at Dainty's?" he asked, knowing that it was the half way point between their houses anyway. "I can be there in ten minutes."

-~-

Chelsea doodled on her order sheet as she leaned against the back counter waiting for the burgers the table had ordered to be done. Even though her drawing consisted of only smiley faces and deformed flowers, Chelsea felt rather proud of them. There weren't much compared to the work Jackson could do, but if Chelsea could make a stick figure look something like a person instead of a plant, it was an accomplishment in her book.

-~-

"Of course!" Nessa practically shrieked into the phone, so excitedly to be going to lake with Travis that she barely heard his second comment. Nessa giggled and responded with a bright reply. "I know! I seriously thought you were on your deathbed or something," she teased, already turning back down the sidewalk and heading to the house. If she was going out that evening, Nessa had to make time to take a shower, do her hair, and pick out an outfit. She was already mentally going through her closet as she waited for Travis to respond.

Johnny hesitated, not wanting to get in the middle of them. But he had to give his opinion. Heaving a sigh, Johnny glanced between them. They each had a point. It was a much better plan to go that night. However, what was the harm of going twice? "Stacy has a point," he said finally. "I think if we go this afternoon then that's great. But no matter what we need to go tonight. Scotty had a great point. If we just go tonight though we can get some more research in, make sure we have all the details..." He was still thinking about what Janessa had said. The age group was definitely something to think about. It could be anything.

Dare rolled his eyes. "I think we've got everything we need. There's nothing to do but look around so why not go twice? I'm with Stacy." He hated research. He'd rather jump into something with both feet and end up in horrible danger. He always managed to get out of those situations just fine so he saw research as completely unnecessary. The idea of going to the hospital twice sounded much more fun. "All that'll happen is we won't miss anything."

~

Jaimie nodded slowly and quickened her pace to reach Rafe and Slash. "I'm okay. My darn body wants to rest but my mind wants to go." She chuckled. "I'm at war with myself." She shook herself, hoping to jolt herself more awake. It didn't work, much to her disappointment. She yawned again, unable to stop herself.

Tyler grinned. "Ah, Luna's so much fun." Even if he had issues with being a monster, he loved this pack. Every one here was fun and great. Really, they were like family. This pack was all he had and he'd protect them with everything he had. "One day she's going to hurt us," he predicted, grinning at Zac mischievously. He considered Zac to be his partner in crime. The two of them were always kidding around. Whether they were messing with Luna or just conversing.

~

Drake grinned. A race? Wonderful! He took off after them. "You're going down!" he called. "Ya hear me?! I'm gonna win!" He was gaining on Cale when he tripped on a root and then ended up running into a tree. He laughed it off as he started running again.

Lacy raised her eyebrows, amused at the others' energy. She paused, trying to decide if she should join them in the race or not. As she watched the others, she sighed, knowing that if she didn't it'd take her longer to get there than the others. That sure sounded annoying. She looked around then started running, careful not to run into anything or trip like Drake had.

~

Bane grabbed his phone and flipped through his contacts, bored. There weren't many people on there since he wasn't one for socializing. He did have a few people he hung out with at school, though. They were more acquaintances than friends. He sighed, closed his phone, and put it in his pocket. The boredom was driving him crazy so he finally decided to go to the lake. It was generally relaxing there but he'd be less bored.
~

Stella pushed herself up and got to her feet. She was starting to get hungry since she hadn't eaten yet so she decided to go to Dainty's Diner. It was her favorite place to go when she had nothing to do. Actually, even when she had a lot to do, it was her favorite place to go. It was just so perfect. No other place she had ever been to could even compare to it.

~

Joey laughed as he plopped on the couch. Sure enough, he had lost the game. "I think you cheat," he announced, grinning. "There's not other explanation. You cheat. That's why I can't win." His grandma just laughed at him and shook her head. He grinned at her, again feeling very lucky to be here with her. He had an amazing childhood and he was lucky for that. "Can I go to Dainty's Diner?" he asked, looking up at her.
"Absolutely. And when you get home later we'll make some cookies," she smiled at him. "Now go have fun."

Janessa, as practical as she was, saw it as a waste of time to go to the same hospital twice. She agreed with Scotty's plan because, honestly, they'd never met vampires who could walk during the day. It was indeed strange, however, that they weren't looked on suspiciously if they only came out at night, but then again... most people at night were either too drunk to notice or too tired to care. Perhaps that was why an alarm hadn't been raised until recently. "I don't think it's smart to go twice when we could be out doing research rather than looking for something that's not there. Vampires are always out at night, so what's the use in going before sunset?" She looked around at the group, thinking hard just as Derek piped up.

"I don't see the harm. We're not too far on leads and it'll give us something to do." He shrugged. Janessa would have shot him a glare, but she just wasn't in the mood for it. "Alright, how about this, then. We should split up into groups. Some of you are bent on going twice, but those of us who think it's not worth it should try and figure out who these vampires are. It would help to discover their age group, though how we'll do that I have no clue as of yet..."

~~

Zac couldn't help but grin, and it was all he could do not to burst out laughing. He called out to Luna, "Well I like being on the edge. It's better than being stuck in the middle anyway." He turned to Tyler with the same cracked grin and said, "Yeah no kidding. I'm surprised she has such a big heart. If I were her, I would have ripped us to shreds by now." He finally let out that short laugh he had been holding for so long, looking back absently to see Slash, Rafe, and Jaimie behind them.

~~

Isa let out a giggle as the others sped in front of her, and she followed Cale like a bullet, determined not to stray too far behind - unlike Ashton, who remained walking. As she let the air grace her brunette hair, she smiled, unable to contain the joy she felt as this particular moment. "Hey, I thought vampires were supposed to be nimble and agile," she teased innocently as she saw Drake collide with a tree. She let her smile radiate at him for a few seconds as he got up and kept racing. She managed to keep her speed level with his, as Cale and Sunny were too far ahead to reach and she didn't feel like running alone.

Ashton, on the other hand, didn't feel like running at all. He was in the very back of the group with his hands in his pockets, still wondering whether there was something wrong with him because he got so iffy around humans. Even going to high school was a major problem for him, though he did not openly admit it. He saw Lacy go, as if she were hesitant about following, and he half wished she had stayed behind with him so he wouldn't be left to chastise himself via mind. He sighed and ran a hand through his light hair.

~~

Carried nodded, although she knew it was pointless to do so because Jackson couldn't see; after all, they weren't talking face to face, although they probably would be in less than twenty minutes. "I can be there in twelve," she said in response, and closed her phone to head to her car. Perhaps this day would be better than she had hoped! Suddenly she was excited and anxious for what was to come later on.

~~

Travis joked back, "Well I'm not dead yet but how about we pick a time?" he smiled, as usually Nessa managed to make him do so easily. As he talked, he started pilfering the fridge again. Since he was a guy, it wouldn't take him nearly as long to get ready. He would have to take a shower at some point and pick something nice to wear, but his hair was shorter and he didn't have to style it. Guys didn't wear makeup so that was another thing he didn't pay attention to. He simply wanted food at the moment. "Hm..." He found some orange juice, and drank a few gulps straight from the jug. He capped it afterwards and put it back, now on the prowl for some protein. Maybe bacon if they had some...

Stacy shoved her second boot before standing up and glancing at all of them. "Are we decided then?" she asked impatiently, moving towards the door. Before anyone could answer, she nodded and replied, "Good. I'm leaving. Whoever is coming with, let’s go." Stacy squeezed through the entirely too crowded room to make it out of the door way. Once she was in the hall, Stacy turned on her heels to see who had followed. From the previous conversation, she expected to at least see Dare and Derek. These two weren't such bad company. Dare could be a little reckless, but that was at least better than hesitant. As for Derek, well, if anyone would be able to get information out of these people at the Medical, it would be him.

-~-

Scotty nodded in agreement to Derek, but said nothing as the group split in to two. He briefly wondered if this was a good idea. Together, the six of them made quite a team most of the time, but splitting up left all of them vulnerable. Scotty quickly pushed these thoughts aside, though, since there was nothing he could do about it now. "I think we should go out into town and see if we find anything interesting. You never know what information we might come across," he said with a shrug to those in the room and had sided with him.

-~-

Luna smirked at Tyler's comment, though there was nothing pleasant in the expression. "Oh, you've got that right," she said through clenched teeth, chuckling quietly without humor. She growled quietly at Zac, shooting him a glare over her shoulder. "I wouldn't push your luck today. I can feel my heart growing smaller by the second." Turning her head forward again, Luna realized they had arrived at the burger place. Luna made to open the door when she spied a sign on the door next to a Help Wanted advertisement. It was one of those lists of rules that no one paid attention to because no one went out places without a shirt and shoes. Except Luna finally realized her feet were bare. With a sound that seemed to be a mix between a growl and a groan, Luna snapped her head to look down the street at the house that her shoes were still in.

Then her eyes landed on Rafe, who was holding up her pair of black flip-flops in his hand, grinning knowingly at her. With pursed lips, Luna shoved passed Zac and Tyler and took her shoes from Rafe. "Thanks," she muttered under her breathe as she threw them to the ground and slid her feet inside.

"Anytime," Rafe answered with a smile as Luna brushed passed the two boys again and shoved herself through the door of the diner. Rafe grinned back at Jaimie and replied to her comment a little too late. "Well at least now you can go to war with a full stomach." He held the door open for her and Slash to go inside.

Chelsea glanced up from working on a pair of sunglasses for a smiling sun as the door chimed, letting in another group of teenagers. She stared at them for longer than she probably should have since she didn't recognize any of their faces. NightShade was a pretty small town, and Dainty's served most of the population on a daily basis, so for Chelsea not to know someone was a rare occasion. She snapped out of her trance of confusion as a bell dinged in the back, signaling that one table's order was done. Chelsea hurried to the back and arranged the plates on a serving tray before taking them out. As she handed the table their plates of burgers and fries, Chelsea couldn't help but glance at the new teens a few more times.

-~-

"Come on, slow pokes!" Cale called over his shoulder with a chuckle, slowing slightly to glance back at others. He actually had no clue how far behind him anyone was; they all could have been right behind him for all he knew. Suddenly, Sunny zoomed past him, taking advantage of his slower steps. "Hey!" he shouted after her with a wide smile as he quickened his sprint again.

"Who's slow now?" Sunny asked with a light laugh, dodging a tree that Cale barely missed as he ran almost directly behind her. He stumbled a bit, not completely stopping but slowing down to almost not moving. Sunny stuck her tongue out at him as his stalled time caused both Drake and Isa to pass him.

With a playful growl, Cale shot forward. "This is not happening," he muttered as he pushed with all his might to pass all three of them.

-~-

Jackson smiled to himself as he walked inside his house and slid his phone in his pocket. He trotted up two flights of steps and into his room, grabbing a pair of swim trunks from his closet and tossing them inside the messenger bag along with his notebooks and pencils. After only being in the house for maybe two minutes, Jackson was already heading out again, tossing sunscreen into his bag and placing a pair of sunglasses over his eyes. Instead of walking ten minutes to Dainty's, Jackson grabbed his bike from between two bushes next to the garage. He never bothered chaining it since it stayed pretty well hidden. In a smooth, practiced rhythm, Jackson jumped up on the seat and pedaled out of the driveway in one move. Stella and Bane popped into his mind as he pedaled down the side walk, and Jackson wondered if he should invite them as well. He'd wait until he got to Dainty's to make any phone calls, though.

-~-

Nessa hurried into the house and had already bounded up the stairs when Travis asked for a time. "Give me, like, half an hour," Nessa said, standing in front of her closet, ripping clothes off the hanger and throwing them to the floor when they didn't meet her standard. Glancing in the mirror at her rumpled, sweaty appearance, Nessa quickly amended her previous suggestion. "Or maybe more like forty-five minutes."
