Nicknames: Lee, Leela
Breed: Border Collie/Alaskan Husky mix
Generation: 2nd (Dusty and Kodi's generation)
Parents: Shaw (Male; Alaskan Husky) and Bettie (Female; Border Collie)
Siblings: Leonhard (Male; older brother)
Crush(ers): Kodi (c) Universal, Yuri
Personality: Gentle and soft-spoken, Lyla doesn't crave attention. She doesn't like being leader or standing in front of a crowd and will try to get out of an area if she feels uncomfortable. She's very passive and tends to stay quiet, almost never speaking her opinion about anything.
Lyla doesn't enjoy being told what to do, but because she's too quiet, she never really has a say in anything. Depending on what the topic is- family, close friends ect.- she will defend her family in a moment's notice no matter the consequences; but she tends to disappear in a group because she's generally quiet. She prefers one-on-one conversations so that she has a chance to speak up and be heard and will often walk away when another person joins in on the conversation.
But Lyla is a sweetheart and is very nurturing towards those younger than her. She can be very motherly and is, actually easy to talk to once one gets to know her. She's trustworthy, but can't lie to save her life. She enjoys the simple things in life- family, friends, her owner- and is very down to earth.
Likes: Her owner, family, friends, quiet, pups, playing, speaking out
Dislikes: Being shy, being ordered around, being in large crowds, her usual inability to be assertive
Voice: Emma Watson (without the accent)
History: Lyla and her older brother Leonhard were born as accidents to a Pedigree Border Collie and a champion lead Siberian Husky. She was sen tto live with her mother until she was adopted by a young boy that lived in White Mountain- Josiah Glasgow. Josiah was a troubled boy that moved around the United States a lot. Their family finally settled in White Mountain, Alaska, a community they grew to love. Lyla had been adopted by Josiah's parents and had given her to him as a present for his birthday along with a tabby cat that Josiah named 'Tortuga'.
Lyla quickly grew to love Josiah, always following him everywhere. She stayed clear of Tortuga, however, the two never seemed to get along. Bu tonly months after he got her, he'd move again to the remote, small town of Nome where he'd go to school with Rosie. josiah and Rosie quickly became friends and she'd often visit and bring her dog Noatak. She quit visiting after her father took Noatak for training. Throughout that time, Josiah, Lyla, and Jenna (c) Universal would comfort Rosie as much as they could, but it was evident that all she wante dwas her dog back.
As she grew older, Lyla began to catch the eyes of many males in Nome, but none really caught her interest. She had been approached by Kodi and the two became good friends. If Lyla wasn't with Josiah and Kodi wasn't delivering mail, they'd always be together, which spread rumors about them being together. Lyla would deny these rumors, but Kodi agreed, not bothering to take in how Lyla really felt. Kodi wasn't trying to hurt Lyla. He'd never intend on doing so, but he spoke before he thought- a bad habit of his. He tried apologizing many times to Lyla, but she only accepted his apology after the rumors died down and even then would not agree to spending time with him- though they'd hang out after that, just not as much.
Rumors had spread through to White Mountain and Leonhard grew furious. He'd always been over-protective of his little sister though she hated it and made his way to Nome alone. Upon arriving, he got a rude welcome from Kaltag and Nikki, but he was too fogused on finding this "Kodi" to care about what they had to say about strangers on their turf. Shortly after this he'd found Kodi, confronting him without giving the husky mix a time to talk. It was then that Lyla spoke up for her friend and told Leonhard what happened. Reluctantly, Leonhard let it slide, but kept a watchful eye on most of the males in Nome now, much to Lyla's embarrassment.
Only a year after she'd been taken in by the Glasgow family, Josiah fell ill and Lyla never left his side. She did what she could to make him smile and it pained her to see her beloved owner in such condition. Josiah Glasgow passed away in his sleep at the age of nine and the family was devastated. The Glasgows would never be the same. They never really talked to one another and only fed and let Lyla outside. It became too much for the pair to keep her so they gave her to Rosie, saying that Josiah would have wanted her to have him. Lyla would never be the same- Josiah would always run through her mind throughout the day and she often wound up being too depressed to talk or do anything.
It was Kodi who brought her out of her depression. He began to visit ehr and his mother every day, Leonhard keeping an eye on him each visit. Kodi and Lyla would get to talking again and he was the first to get her to smile since Josiah's passing. Though Josiah would always be remembered and thinking of him made her upset, Lyla moved on and she accepted Rosie as her owner.
Relation to Balto: Her late owner is best friends with Rosie; she also knows Rosie through Noatak (c) me; She gets along well with Jenna (c) Universal; her best friend is Kodi (c) Universal; her current owner is Rosie (c) Universal
I know her legs look a bit wonky but I was stuck using MS paint to creat them and I'm not so good at drawing dogs free hand to being with.
