Given Name: Cade
Pedigree: Gray coated Siberian husky
Lineage: Spats and Mabli
Siblings: 1 brother: died before weaning.
Personality: Pass him in the street, he’d be easily taken for a regular busy body. Though he’s a lead dog, he doesn’t give off overly domineering vibes. If you’re on his team though, you may have something different to say. He can be snappy and impatient but he is an extremely honest worker, who worked hard to get the lead position at a very young age. Needless to say, he’s good at what he does. In the harness he is in his element. He gives his commands sternly, precisely and expects them to be carried out in no less order than they were given in. His professionalism is his best asset, but his lack of patience and light arrogance can hinder this on occasion. When he’s off duty he is somewhat of an enigma, he’s deeply cynical about others and prefers his solitude (due to his cynicism of course). Off duty attempts to socialize with him will be met with a great deal of his petulance. He is notably honest- in an unfiltered and brutal kind of way. If you ask his opinion of something, his replies can be very upsetting but honest. Of course he sees nothing wrong with all of this and carries on in his merry (or not so merry) ways. On the surface, Cade can be quite charming as long as you don’t ask questions and don’t push your luck.
Habits/Quirks: He is a horribly light sleeper, slightly paranoid, outside of his team-mates he doesn’t socialize/get out much. It’s been said that he keeps a much loved tennis ball under his mat/bed…but no one has ever dared to test that theory.
Passions: His lead position, exploring the woods.
Bio: Grew up North of Nome, his brother died before he was weaned so he hadn’t been given a name yet. Cade claims to be unaffected by it, most of the time he forgets to mention that he even had a brother. Cade’s father was a runaround casanova of a male who broke a good deal of young hearts, and it didn’t help when his owner put him up for stud. Spats was just a wheeler, but that’s not what he told the ladies and his pups. The night before he traveled to Nome,Cade learned the truth about his father and he was bitterly disappointed and vowed not to speak to Spats again, but Cade did promise to do him one better and become the dog Spats pretended he was. Cade was expected far too much of at far too young an age- but he rose to the challenge in Nome. Thus he suffers the consequence of being young and in a powerful position- his mild arrogance. He usually keeps it in check, and the team never complains about it. He climbed the ranks quickly and became lead dog with ease- and is a very hard worker. He never slacks, but gives the team a few less days off than they’d probably like.
Though he doesn’t display his affection like the rest of the team, he’d trust his team-mates with his life (which is an extremely high honor considering his cynicism). When the team goes into Nome for fun with the city dogs Cade usually stays behind or goes as a simple bystander. Most dogs in Nome love it when the team returns to town- but they are aware of Cade’s wariness of them and in turn give him respect (which does wonders for his ego) and most know to avoid attempting instigate a conversation with him. In his choice free time, he likes exploring the woods around Nome, not looking for anything in particular- but he prefers the time spend leading the team above all else. He and the team’s human owner share a mutually distant relationship.
Ever since Spica ran to Nome- and the team finally persuaded him to allow her to take up a position as a swinger dog when Sacco left the team, his world has been turned upside down. He currently really couldn’t find anything more annoying than little miss bright-eyes herself. But he has to admit the kid’s got talent, unfortunately he’d really like to find any excuse to get her out of his hair and have the team go back to normal… Spica’s been making herself a nuisance, and become quite a thorn in his side. He knows she isn’t perfect and still has much to learn- he knows he hasn’t got long to wait until she makes a mistake- and he’ll be around to see it.
