While watching the bear battles in the two movies, I noticed some interesting similarities and differences between the two.

Color and features: The bear from Balto 1 was black with sinister blue and yellow highlights. It was also unnaturally huge, towering over the characters and able to pin down a large dog single pawed. It also had very long, exaggerated claws. The bear from WQ was brown, and clearly much smaller. The anatomy was a little more on key with the size and shape.

Sound: Balto 1's bear had the perfect combination of realistic grunts and thunderous roars, while WQ's bear was more of a softer, growling roar that didn't have much variety.

Events: The fight begins with one of the characters on their own, which would be Balto/Aleu, and then another character, who would be Jenna/Balto, jumps in to help them. Did anyone else notice that Jenna/Balto make their entry in exactly the same way, leaping from one side of the screen, biting onto the bear's arm, and then being thrown into a tree stump? Also, one character ends up in a life threatening situation that relates to the bear's downfall: Balto'snear drowning in the frozen lake, and Aleu's dangling from a cliff.
