Aleu's markings might be a representation of real wolf markings.
I looked at Aleu's markings, and wondered if Boris' comment, 'Daughter looks even more wolf then father' (or something to that effect...) meant not just stature, and color, but markings. I looked through a selection of my wolf pictures, and found a dark colored wolf who's markings (facial, at least) matched exactly. I unfortunately do not have that exact picture to share, but I did find some photos close. The top one is a wolf, the bottom is a husky. I outlined markings for looking ease.
Now I am ready to accept the wolf's broken marking is individuality, and does not represent all wolves. I am also ready to say that Aleu's markings might, might, be a mix between wolf and husky markings. It could also just be that the Wolf Quest budget was low and they wanted to make her markings simple.
Now, Aleu's color could also be wolf representation.
Notice how similar they are. The second colors are only a shade or two apart. The wolf colors are only from this particular wolf, but there's got to be similar looking wolves out there, right?
In no way am I saying Universal did, in fact, base Aleu's colors and markings on real wolves, I'm just saying they possibly did.
Thank you for reading.
