About puppy's eyes.

About puppy's eyes.

Identification of puppies.

Many wondered about this. Why do puppies have blue eyes if the mother and father had a gold and brown eyes, respectively?  Well, I will give a couple of quite clear and simple reasons that are lacking in real life. It's just ... the reason.
Okay, because of the negligence of animators and artists there was confusion between the puppies. Some we remember. But in almost every frame has a lot of mistakes: all puppies blue-eyed,  all puppies with brown-eyed. Because difficult to disassemble them. Why so?
Real
But we know that there are three puppies with blue eyes and three puppy with brown eyes.

In fact, this confusion is not the only puppies. Balto in a dream becomes a blue-eyed!
Eyed
Okay, this is also a blooper, but I won't  speak about it. It's just the intro. We now turn to the main.

1.  We see that many puppies have blue eyes, but their parents have brown or golden eyes.
 Breed
In general, not surprising.

Puppies have a breed of siberian huskies, and they have in the breed standard a blue eyes. And this is regardless of the fact that his closest grandparents, mom and dad are a brown-eyed.
Yes
Two puppies with brown eyes, two puppies with blue eyes. This is inherent in the breed standard at the genetic level (can also be different eyes, one blue and one brown; but once personally I had the siberian husky, who had eyes the color of turquoise or aqua, with a silver suit).

2. However, there is one statement. This puppy (with a red stripe on the nose) was first blue-eyed, and then he began brown-eyed. Okay, I don't want speak about bloopers. But a reflection of real life here can result. And it is justified.
 Color
Yes, he changes the color of his eyes.

So, I think that know it all. Puppies, kittens, cubs of various mammals and babies (human's children) are born with blue eyes. Then their eyes get own real color (several months must pass).
WolfBorn
It does not depend on the species, or anything else. They all are born blue-eyed. Their pigment still weak, sometimes the eyes may have a grayish hue. But then they grow up and their eyes turn brown.
Aleu
In the example I gave only puppies (we're talking about them).
So those puppies that were with blue eyes, just the youngest in brood, and they (if it want to become an adult) can be represented with a golden or brown eyes. This is justified.

3.  However, that Aleu? She is still remains with blue eyes. She is not a wolf, but almost dog.  While walking along the wolf's image.
Blue
Blue eyes are pretty cool. As sapphires.

I have already said that the young cubs of mammals are born with blue eyes. Wolf cubs are born blue-eyed (adult wolf's eyes may be yellow, copper, gold, greenish color).
EyesPuppies
Yep, But What's Aleu?

Oddly enough, but the wolf-dog crossbreed always has only the color of eyes, which wolves have. Accordingly, blue eyes only mistake animation team who worked on the film, well, to emphasize the "personality" Aleu. Well, I think so, at last.

Although the white wolves (arctic) blue eyes are very suitable in appearance. Quite nicely.

Brown
P.S. Old White Wolf design was: pink nose, blue eyes, black border wasn't on ears , lilac-gray spots wasn't on eyes .

Most likely only just statement number 2. I think.

Thanks for reading!

Well, basically of the same Disney sequels I Like "Rescuers Down Under" (in my opinion, he's a little better than the original cartoon, although I love both the cartoons), "The Lion King 2" (I will not say that it was good movie, but plus there is also a lot). "DuckTales. Treasured lamp" I also really like. I like short copyrights cartoons (eg Wolfsong, R'ha etc .; these two shots are one of my favorite movies). If the film has something good, I always say about it.

But WQ along with "The Secret of NIMH 2" is so bad. Sequels of "The Land Before Time" in my opinion good only the first three sequels (though the songs are bad, I agree), and there is quite a nice animation.

It seems to me that, given what you said in your last posting, you make a habit of being too critical of theatrical or televised sequels, and expect far too much of them. If you have such high personal standards, and invariably always find yourself disappointed or, worse, angered, then you really ought to consider avoiding sequel-watching altogether. ROFL

I think I've said all I need to say here. This is pointless. The rest of what I said can stand on its own merits.

I hate WQ not because of the terrible animation. There are completely different reasons. In WQ I like music, dreams are showed very cool (although do not make sense), landscapes (despite the wretched computer graphics) beautiful, juicy and fantastic colors. Yes, one of the shocks of hatred was that Aniu officially called the mother of the protagonist, although no aesthetic or logical evidence was not in the movie (there is evidence to support parenting, but they belong to another character).

The fact that the project had the potential. Was conceived a good idea, and a large-scale story, but it ruined by the typical clichés that are characteristic for all the cheap sequels (in particular, many of Disney). It does not matter for a TV or in cinemas, but need adequate and fascinating story and the script. Because children when they grow up, they like to analyze something and learn from it.

I also think that, and I DON'T mean this to pick on you or to flame bait, but you need to work on your English skills. A lot. Especially if you're going to write articles for the English sources. I realize English may not be your first language. But you have to realize that English is the central language of the site, and there are not only native English speakers, but plenty of non-native speakers/readers of English who will get easily confused by what you are writing.

Mightybalto is right, and I think you need to loosen up on the hate of Wolf Quest. The movie is what it is. It was produced with a low budget, as a direct-to-video release. There have been far worse animated sequels than this (the sequels to The Secret of NIMH and The Land Before Time immediately come to mind).

Certainly there are plenty of Balto fans who dislike or even hate Wolf Quest. Who cares? That is their right, and they're welcome to it. And so are you. Making an article like this, which will not resolve anything, and is pointless when one considers what the priorities of the production company were, is a waste of time. Yours to waste, sure. But just as if you might say to your detractors "if you don't like my article, then don't read it (which would be a silly statement anyway, since it would have already been read), it's just as easy to say to folks like you that, if you're unwilling to expect anything less than perfection from a direct-to-video sequel of a theatrical movie, then you should not watch direct-to-video sequels. Period.

Want to do better? Go to college, get a degree in animation production, and convince a studio to back you financially (and so forth) on your own movie sequel, where you can spend inordinate amounts of time tweaking the characters to the "nth" degree in accordance with real-world animal genetics and conformation.

And then watch the resulting reactions from the audience and the critics when they view your heavily detail-laden production. lol

For one, Balto II was a low budget film. You aren't going to expect an award winner out of that. Secondly, as it has been stated, it's just a cartoon... Cartoons aren't required to stay in the realm of reality.

In general, that's how it works when you start a discussion. People are going to respond when you post something. There isn't a need to get all worked up over that.

No one ever said that movies and shows for kids are calling kids "stupid". Younger children aren't going to sit there and criticize a film for being unrealistic, etc. Depending upon age, most of them probably don't understand genetics, or what they even are. When it comes to taste, it just depends on the individual.

Honestly, I don't see how his offspring look like (or even act like) wolves. Besides Aleu, the rest look and act pretty much like Huskies.

It's your opinion if you like WQ or not, but I feel like you're making an overly big deal out of it in various places.

Even if it's a cartoon for children, it should not be stupid, illogical and to make cheap. It's just an article eventually! People give their opinion! What all do not like "heterodoxy"?!
Its "cartoons for children, and children stupid" such people simply insults young viewers. Thus are born or people with no taste, or people who do not know simple things. They would have made a disembodied spirit the someone's parent. Oh yeah, these idiots have done and tarnished.

I really hate this cartoon (WQ).
P.S. All puppies of Balto and Jenna had to be like wolves.

You're over-thinking this. It's a cartoon...an animated movie aimed at children. It's not a documentary on canine genetics. And I think you'll find that most fans of this movie (and any other animated movie or television series about animated domestic or wild animals) just don't care. I am also 100% certain that the writers, the directors and the producers of all three of the Balto movies were not concerned with such extraordinarily minor issues in their efforts at creating children's cartoons.

How many articles is this now where you've done this?

Mightybalto1925, I agree with you. In this case, blue eyes can be only one justification (number 2). And I know that a wolf-dog crossbreed (adult) and her offspring can have ONLY "wolfish" eye colors (gray, gold, green, yellow). I just write out little by little. But thanks for reminding me about it. :)

Troll Berserker, A little later I will correct statements in number 3. In this case, blue eyes (although as sapphires, they look very cool, also pretty good), a side effect.

I would like to backtrack and mention that my first post does have an error in it. Unlike Huskies, Wolf hybrids cannot have blue eyes. So technically, Balto's offspring SHOULD have brown, grey, yellow or green eyes. But I think in this instance, it's something that the production team could get away with without looking like complete fools.

I never said that you were wrong on puppys eyes nor that Balto's pups couldn't have blue eyes. I was just poiting out that unlike what you've said in the aricle, adult wolves can't have blue eyes also that the two adult wolf pics are either not blue-eyed or not wolf at all.

"In nature". I mean that cubs of mammals are born with blue (or grayish) eyes.;)

Excellent point about the breed standard. I just pointed out three possible reasons to justify it.

Well yes, Huskies can have blue eyes, along with brown eyes. But back in Balto's time, there were no "breed standards (which is more less a guide for people who breed and show dogs)". In fact, the Siberian Husky wasn't recognized until 1930.

I'm not sure by what you mean "in nature". If you're talking about wolves, wolves don't have blue eyes.

I am told that the puppies can have blue eyes for two reasons: the breed standard Siberian Husky (this is normal), or that the puppies can be born with blue eyes (as in nature), but then grow and become with its natural color. This model painted sheet (white wolf), which you can find and buy. Have you ever try to read attentively !?

The blue-eyed Balto is not a blooper. This, along with his fur color, was changed to cooler colors to match the background around him in his dreams.

To be fair, I'm not sure what you're trying to get at in this article. Yes, Balto and Jenna have brownish colored eyes, but that doesn't mean their offspring won't have any blue eyes. In order for that to be so, both parents need to have a copy of the blue-eye gene, which is recessive, to pass it on.

That colored white wolf concept looks fake. There's a full character concept in production section and it's uncolored - http://www.animationsource.org [...] nt/balto/img_site/8%285%29.jpg

The picture of blue-eyed white wolf appear either photoshoped or it's just a husky (I looked the photo up. It's almost certainly a husky photo). Wolves can't have blue eyes, neither grey or arctic wolves. Their eyes can be light grey and appear blue in certain light, but they aren't actually blue. Here's a pic of a wolf with such bright eyes, similar to the grey wolf picture you posted - http://www.dawnthieves.de/Memb [...] Apr2014/Grana-1404-Luna-02.jpg
I looked up the exact photo you posted too. A bigger resolution reveals that those eyes are grey, not blue neither - http://www.naturpark-bayer-wald.de/tw/Wolf/wiki-wolf2.jpg
