Question :
jcalamil :

¿can this series be revived someday sooner or later? I think it worths, because there are other animated series being revived, like "tom and jerry tales", "scooby doo mistery inc", and the future "looney tunes laff riott", if the problem is not about being able, then it could be about "wanting", I mean if someone can revive the series, it depends if he wants it or not, but I wish it could happen someday (for a new generation of viewers). so long!

"Disney" doesn't mean anything, this is a big company. If you were to send them a letter, try heading for the head of the Walt Disney Television Animation. If you're very, very lucky, they may answer...

I am conscient reviving Talespin won't be so soon, it could take time (unless disney decides so soon), the matter is that Disney should keep this in mind, to make it affordable, it could take time, I know that, but the questions are: ¿will they remember this? ¿can they find a creative team?, and not least ¿how are they going to know what fans want if comunication between Disney & fans is limited? I don't know, but if I were writing to disney this could be the moment. ;)

well, I'm glad that at least someone is being optimist:) , and also I saw in youtube another fan desiring this to happen, he says Walt disney studios should know about what fans want, but the only problem is ¿how are they going know it?, by the way ¿where has Jymn been these days?

I don't think the possibility of Disney reviving TaleSpin would necessarily have to revolve around traditional animation. There's more than one avenue for animated series now.

I could see a chance of Disney reviving TaleSpin and possibly even DuckTales. For one thing, Disney has sunk so far down in the past 15 years that they have no way but to go up. TaleSpin represents everything that Disney needs in order to attact a general audience. People just loved it; they didn't care that it was a Disney cartoon. Nowadays, because Eisner seemed to have sapped the animation spirit so much during his tenure, being a Disney cartoon is a turn-off. TaleSpin occurred during a peak of Disney that they sorely need to scale back up to.

Plus there's also that nostalgic value of revisiting a series from 20 years ago.

The problem, however, is if they revive TaleSpin, could they do so while keeping the spirit of the original series? In order to do that, you'd have to have a creative team that is in tune with the show in the way Jymn Magon was. Otherwise you'll have crap like Quack Pack.

I'm starting to see TaleSpin and DuckTales (which exists within the Carl Barks realm) as classic series that Disney could use to re-establish itself.

Yes, of course I would, there's no questioning that. I really hope they'll come back to it one day. I just hope they will keep the same formula or at least keep the spirit of it.

But I'm being realistic by saying that it's not going to happen anytime soon...

maybe, but, I don't know, besides just if that happens, they could adapt it in the "comedic style" you mentioned before (the series had its hillarious parts too), but I will keep my fingers crossed, !have a nice day!:)

Lilo & Stitch series was started in 2003, which is not exactly recent, and the Emperor's new school is exactly the "pure comedic" style I described (though I haven't seen it much so at least, that's what it looks like)

maybe, but remember that recently, there was some series with traditional animation like "lilo and stich series and emperor's new school, and as for the princess and the frog, that's a good point, it they succeed, probably it's a first step to revive traditional animation.

Shout box : steet (7 days) : "Wrong! In the desert." I love Kit's reactions to Baloo in that episode.
