It's not really a question, but...
I must say the only thing I'm annoyed with Talespin (save for the bad animation in some episodes) is that everything goes back to the way things were after each episode.
I know, most companies does that, especially with cartoons.
Of course, this has advantages (episodes can be watched in any order without getting lost) and drawbacks (less freedom, repetitivity, harder to get "hooked" to the series...)
Do you think Talespin would have been better if there wasn't that "reset" button? Weren't you annoyed by that when writing scripts?

Back then, that was the only way to do it. Square one after each episode. Now we can have whole seasonal arcs, as well as multi-season arcs. I personally like some evolution in my characters and some memory of past experiences, but back then you never knew what order a particular episode was going to be shown in, so they all had to start on equal footing, or someone might watch one on one day and not understand it because it was shown "before" an episode that it should have been after.

Jymn => Argh. That's realistic (and I believe you even more, since
you're in the animation industry), but it's still pessimistic. Disney
is currently making a few attemps to go back to their roots : Princess
& the Frog returns to traditional animation, Epic Mickey go back to
the roots of the character as well as including some characters we
would have never expected to see again (Oswald, the Phantom
Blot...) And Warren Spector who is the director of Epic Mickey is trying very hard to convince Disney to do a Ducktales game. I don't think it's completly impossible. If these attemps are successful, they may reconsider their plans...even though it will take time. EDIT = I just learned that a sequel to Roger Rabbit is currenlty being written, and by the original writers!! (and for real, this time!) Yet it's been 20 years since the first film. If this isn't another proof of what I'm saying! |

I can make you two fairly sure guarentees. 1) Disney will NEVER ressurect Tale Spin for more episodes or books or movies or Michael Bey mega-blockbusters. 2) If Disney DOES ressurect Tale Spin, they wil NEVER contact Mark or me. Jymn |

That's what I thought. But why "back then"? I think most TV cartoons
are still doing that, or still aired "out of order". It's still a shame - but as I said, it's really one of the very few "flaws" I can see to that series ![]() And we shouldn't rule out the possibility for Disney to continue the series, yes-no? |

Well, like you said - there are advantages and there are drawbacks. One of the main things that drew me to the show is that it's completely inhabited by anthropomorphic animals - not a human in sight. So, I think either way, I'd be happy with the series. But you're right - "resetting" it is a little disappointing - especially if the episode plot left much to be desired. :/ |
