Question :
KitCloudkicker52885 :

My friend, Kit_Lee, had asked me to post these questions to Jymn and Mark for him.

1. What was the inspiration in writing the episode The Old Man and the Sea Duck? The episode was always emotional to me 'cause it had a religious feel to it that there are guardian angels looking over us always. Like Joe McGee was watching over Baloo to help him fly again. Was that part of the inspiration?

2. On Kit, what was your favorite Kit moments? (seeing Kit is also my favorite character much, like my friend KitCloudkicker52885l) So I was wondering, what moment  did you and Mark liked the most with Kit?

3. On Kit wearing paints as I've seen Kit did originally wear paints but since he was slightly pudgy at times, I can see where the no paints rule applied to Him and him only being 3 foot 9.
But I was wondering, in the episode Double or Nothing, we see Kit Pull 50 dollars out of a pocket on his furry hip, was that a little animation mistake or was it to say that Kit might have had on Paints the same color as his fur? Just curious....

4. Also, to add to my friend KitCloudkicker52885's question, what other odd jobs would you and Mark have thought of for Kit as if it was Rebecca asking him to do a second Job? Seeing she was really like his adoptive mother, I know Kit's very resourceful, so I could imagine him doing many things.

5. And seeing that there was an episode with Baloo having a bit of destiny following him, (aka Destiny Rides Again) would there have been a thought of doing a episode with Kit as the Chosen One of sorts?

6. And lastly, in some episodes Kit and Molly did not appear in them, I can guess that it was due to the voice actors having other shows to do. But what was those two great cubs doing when there weren't around? I see babysitting Molly for Kit as one opposition, and school being a second.
But I was wondering what if Kit had been in Balooest of the Blue Bloods? What would have been his rule there? Sorry to ask such a silly question but I felt there were many times when Kit would have been great in episodes he wasn't in, even just to help out his Papa Bear, so that's what brought up the question.

Thanks for looking Jymn and I hope I didn't ask any thing too silly.

First of all, there are no "silly" questions. ..... only stupid ones. ;o)

1. Sorry, I can't remember the inspiration for this episode.

2. I can't say there's a specific moment in an episode... but I like the fact that, despite his tough guy attitude, Kit likes having a Papa Bear, a Mama Becky, and a Kid Sister. I like the way he plays with Molly without guile or embarrassment. Plus, he's pretty fearless.

3. Ha-ha-ha! You just discovered the great secret of animation. Furry characters are actually wearing fur suits. Think how many times Bugs Bunny has pulled something out of his pockets. Or when they reach behind their backs, where do you think they're getting that large mallet from? (It rhymes with "zup zheir zass.") There are simply certain cartoon conventions that you never think about. Like in Gummi Bears, they always wear the same outfits... day in, day out. So we had Tummi go to the closet once, and the closet was full of clothes... all the same! Or when Baloo hangs out his wash, and there are the heart-designed boxer shorts... and he doesn't WEAR PANTS!

4. Uh.....whatever Baloo WON'T do, like take out the trash.

5. Probably not.

6. No, the cast for an episode is never chosen based on an actor's availability. We usually write the scripts in advance of the recording session, so we simply assume the actor are going to be there. No, when we write a character out of an episode, it is because we want to devote more screen time to another character. If Becky and Baloo need to go on a date (Bluebloods), we don't want kids, Shere Khan, Dunder, Louie, whoever, taking up screentime.

He meant "pants" on question three, I just didn't catch it when I edited the questions before posting them. Sorry 'bout that... :red:

Shout box : steet (12 days) : "Wrong! In the desert." I love Kit's reactions to Baloo in that episode.
