Talespin is a Disney TV series, aired in 1990 as part of the "Disney Afternoon" TV programme, and lasted for 65 episodes.
Following the success of previous series such as Gummi Bears or Ducktales, TaleSpin is a mix of genres : comedy, adventure, drama...
The story relates the adventures of Baloo, as a bush pilot in the 1930's. Careless and easy-going, he ends up working for a business woman named Rebecca for her air service : "Higher for Hire".
But life in the little town of Cape Suzette isn't easy, as the "air pirates" leaded by the dangerous and big-ego pirate Don Karnage, hijack and plunder the planes without mercy.
Baloo's life is about to change when one day, he meets with a young orphan bear : Kit, who despite being cute, seems to have a dark past...
On first sight, the show may seem like a Jungle Book spin-off, as three famous characters (Baloo, Louie and Shere Khan) are present - but this is VERY far from the truth, the show being very unique and creative on almost every side : clever and varied stories, great characters, good animation and orchestral musics...
And while this was a series "marketed" with kids in mind, it has different levels of reading, so that both kids and adults alike will love the stories. The show never hesitates to mention "hard" topics : money problems, jealousy, treason, war, death...while staying true to the Disney values!
In a few words, this is an animated gem that Disney should be proud of, and should SHOW it!
Today, I have sent our Talespin petition to Walt Disney Home Entertainment, Disney Publishing, Disney Consumers Products and Marvel.
To be honest I have no expectation, but what's the worst that can happen? At worse, they won't do anything for Talespin, and that's exactly what they're doing for years! At best, maybe we could finally get a TaleSpin comic and the final DVD volume release?

It's amazing how active the Sources have become! So active, for the first time last night, every single shout box was alive with activity!
What does this mean? It means that a new record has been reached on Animation Source: most shout boxes active at the same time! But it doesn't have to end here!
