Bad ending!, June 03, 2011

Of course, i love this movie! And the plot is OK. But i have problems with the endign. When Zira dies, Kovu is a little sad. I understand that. But then everything is all right again and Simba smiles. OMG, come on guys, somebody is dead! And nobody cares! Really, if i was Simba, i would say something as: I really don't want  this. Zira still was an lioness, she has got a bad soul, but still..

Well, it's better than just smile and invite everybody on Pride Rock. For me, it was a bad ending.

When we left off our beloved lions of the Pridelands, Simba and Nala had welcomed a cub of their own into the Circle of Life... but what else? At last, Disney gave us an answer with "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride", a Direct-To-Video [DTV] sequel with stunning animation, lively music and song, and a continuing story that should have been in theaters.

That little cub just so happens to be a daughter, Princess Kiara, and very much like her father, Simba, she is an adventurous child that wants to play and explore. Simba plays the overprotective dad here, wanting Kiara to be the wise future Queen that she is born to become while also wanting to be as good of a ruler as his father, Mufasa, was and - as shown and mentioned a few times in the film - still is. However, all is not safe in the Pridelands as Scar's former pride of lions, led by the power-hungry lioness Zira, plots a way to avenge Scar's death through his apparent heir, Zira's youngest son, Kovu. Bad animation, November 03, 2010

No way the animation in The Lion King 2 could ever compete to the animation in Disney's the orginal, The Lion King. The voices were off and the characters were poorly drawn. But I have to admit I really did like it's plot. Kiara is born, she meets Kovu, Zira and Simba don't like it, Kovu saves Simba's life, Simba kills Zira, Kovu and Kiara live happily ever after. And then that's it. The storyline is Violent, Romantic, Funny, Akward, you name it! This movie had adult like times, and kid times. Romantic and voilence was for the grown-ups. Funny and Happy was for the children. You may laugh at the fact I'm saying this, but it never really occured to me that I was watching a movie that had to do with lions. It just seemed like all these years they were actually humans. They act much, much like it. I think the movie was created because The Lion King fans wanted to see more. But they didn't actually get what they were [...]

Sold my copy..., October 27, 2010

In General; 2/10

We all know Disney's TLK! (If you don't, then its mighty odd seeing you on TLKS...)

But what about The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride? Well here is my review.

Plot; Um, well this cannot compete to TLK, thats for sure. While it does that "play theme", and I didn't care for the romance. I felt the plot was very overused.

Characters; This movie seemed to trash the characters from the first film, though you do see one hint of Nala from the first film - where she pins down Simba again. But their looks really threw it off for me. And Kiara was annoying for me. They had a chance to make they film better - not as good as TLK, but maybe better than it is now- if they had worked on Nuka/Zira. Instead of focusing on Kiara/Kovu. In the orignal scene, Nuka tells Zira, "I got your attention now, didn't I?" or something around those lines, but it was removed being concidered too dark. I - for one, would think this would be a [...]

Other film / series reviews

A couple of weeks before this film came out in theaters in the late fall-early winter of 1995, my eyes took its first glimpse into a world of the past and the story of a real hero - "Balto", the adventure of a brave dog that saved lives and regained hope in a period of crisis. It was then that I grew obsessed with the true story, reading and buying books based on dogsledding and the famous journey that the movie showed... Despite not being popular in the theaters, it is still one of my favorite animated films to this day, despite the problems of it being "based on a true story".

Loosely based on the true story of the Serum Run of 1925 that inspired the annual Iditarod dogsledding race, the movie starts out as a simple journey between a grandmother and her granddaughter looking for something in Central Park, New York before the grandmother rests to spin her tale, shifting the film into an animated world of sled dogs, snow, and the untamed Alaskan wilderness. Rio : 8 / 10

Fun for all birds of a feather, July 28, 2011

So very first review ever. (for this movie on this site, and for me to write) But hey, this movie really deserves a good review. So let´s start.

First off, the look: First thing you´ll say, colorful! But it is more than that. Look at all the detail, the feathers, or even the city of Rio at night. I admit, I´m not too much into GCI but this is what I think GCI should be.

Music: I downloaded the soundtrack from Itunes as soon as it was released. Anything more to say? The songs are really nice, there is no track I dislike. It gives you a nice summer-feeling. There where really talented musicians involved and you can hear it.

Characters: The characters where interesting. I mean who doesn´t love Rafael or Luiz and who could forget Eva? Okay I admit, the humans seem to be less intelligent than the birds but they are mostly just background characters anyways. And who did watch the movie because of the humans?

Plot: Yes we all knew how the movie will [...]

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 1 / 10

One of the worst Balto movies I've ever seen!!!, July 21, 2011

Let me explain myself, The idea that Kodi doesn't know he's part wolf is really stupid!!  And that Boris gets an ugly girlfriend with a mole on her face is really annoying (I don't like women with moles on their face).  I think that Balto betrayed Kodi just to keep him innocent, I think he should've told him and to respect it than to keep him innocent! Universal step up from this crap it's just stupid innocence stuff and I hate it....  I think Boris should've never had a girlfriend because number one: I think that Stella was stupid as crap and just keeping Kodi ignorant is stupid as well!!! If Universal makes another movie Balto should tell Kodi instead of keeping him ignorant as $h&@!!  Well, thats it of my dramaangry

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 8 / 10

I Will Admit, It was Pretty Good!, June 23, 2011

This movie came out  when I was about six, but I've watched many times. I was thrilled that a sequel was coming out, since I had been secretly wishing for one. Balto and Jenna seemed pretty much in charcter (Balto I believe right on the nail with the stresses of being a father). However, there were a few unbelieveble parts, such as Balto "still getting teased around town because he's part wolf", because at  the end of the 1st movie he seems to have the respect of all of Alaska. Also, it isn't very credible he would still be living in that boat. Now, let me shift the subject to the lovely Aleu. Aleu was, well, a little bit whiney, but she's no more of a primadonna than my own dog! I liked the new idea of putting Balto's wolf heritage into the movie, so that Aleu finally found the place where she belonged. Nuk, Yak, and Sumac were funny, especially with their Russian(?) accents. Nava was also fun, kinda like the Obi Wan Kenobi of the Balto [...]

Cats Don't Dance : 10 / 10

An Amazing Movie For All, June 19, 2011

Right now, I recall vague memories of watching this movie as a young kid, back in the late 1990s. None of those memories were around when I was staring at the title Cats Don't Dance on Netflicks this February. All I felt was a sense of familiarity, so I watched it. I am very glad I did! I found the storyline to be inspiring and and the comedy was great! What really stuck with me was both the characters and the music. I enjoyed watching Danny as he, despite everything that was thrown against him, continued to try again and again. I loved watching Sawyer as she tried to convince herself that Danny would fail and eventually leave, then finally turning around and following her heart. I loved listening to the music, which was mostly accurate for the time and was done so well. I have remained an avid fan of the movie ever since that day.

Some of my favorite scences were:

Danny's Arrival

Farley Wink's office.

Sawyer's Song

The Song on Stage

After [...]

Balto : 10 / 10

A Perfect, Original Classic, June 10, 2011

This review is for Balto.

When I heard about a movie coming soon called Balto, I couldn't wait to see it. I mean, US has made tons of other movies. Such as a very popular one back when my dad was a kid, known as E.T. But, according to me, Balto is one of there best movies. I loved all the scenes. I never saw one animation mistake. Not one! Probably cause they were being very mature and confident about making Balto, too. So, I was very interested and I watched the whole movie and didn't take one break. Not one!

But, there were lots of scenes that made me very interested. Such as The White Wolf Scene. Or known as The Heritge of The Wolf Scene. But, yep, that was my favorite scene. I have other favorite scenes, too. Such as The Boiler Room Scene, Lost Scene, and The End, ofcourse. But, like in most movies, there was a bad guy. Steele. I think Steele is a bully, but I'm a fan of some bad guys. I mean, come on, without a bad guy in a movie, how is the [...]

Brother Bear 2 : 7 / 10

Another Movie To Enjoy, June 10, 2011

Although I believe Brother Bear 2 wasn't as good as the first, it still deserves some attention. A lot of work goes into making an animated film, and Brother Bear 2 isn't any exception. The animation was alright; didn't succeed as much as the other one. I liked the background music, though. I understand that it isn't as good as the other one, though it isn't like Balto 2. All in all, it's a good movie to watch with your family. A great movie to pass the time with.1 comment

Balto : 9 / 10

Balto one review, June 10, 2011

I give it a 9/10 The reason i gave it a 9 out of 10 is because it didn't follow the real story line but was very close to it. The story of balto in the 3 movies is really great good plot for the 2nd and 3rd one but the main one is the one that works the best.

Other reviews

characters: 7/10

music: 10/10

Idea of wolf-dog: 9/10

following the true story: 6/10

Those are al lmy levels of the movie i know its different for you but its still the best i can do with.

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 3 / 10

If you\'re a die-hard fan..., June 06, 2011

All right, I re-watched Balto 3 recently and even though I still don't like the movie that much it is not as bad as I remember, though it is still my least liked among all 3 movies.

Granted, the animation was a little better than Wolf Quest, but I thought the story wasn't very well-written.  the escuss use of crappy CGI bothered me, as well as almost all of the characters.  Balto and Jenna seemed really out-of-character to me and their son, Kodi, did not hold my attention that much.  I don't think he's the worst character, but I didn't think he was the best, either.
I don't really picture the Balto in the first movie ever having a dream to fly in a plane, so I doubt that would be something the original Balto would be interested in.

The add-on of characters such as Stella, Mel, Dipsy and the 2 moose in the woods, makes the movie goofy, but not in a very entertaining way, just in a usually annoying way.  Kodi's [...]

Anastasia : 10 / 10

Fantastic!, June 03, 2011

When I was a kid, I watched all kinds of animated movies and usually my favorite ones were ones about animals; for this movie, I make an exception.

Anastasia is a very well-written movie with a stellar plot, characters, music and visuals all combined to create a fun, charming movie that's enjoyable every time it's watched.

The movie remains interesting from start to finish and does not over-due its use of comical relief or CGI, which many movies tend to do.  Every one of the characters are important in their own right and are given perfect lengths of show-time.  The main characters, Anastasia and Dimitri, grow as individuals in a very real way, making them easily relatable to real people.

To pinpoint Anastasia, herself, she is much more than a young woman whining about how unfair her life is or whatever else older teenagers/young adults stereotypically complain about.  She's very much like a real woman, finding herself through [...]

The Lady and the Tramp : 10 / 10

The Lady and the Tramp is very beautiful, June 03, 2011

The Lady and the Tramp was Disney at it's best. The only movie I can think of that beat it is The Lion King.

The music was outstanding, romantic, and amazing. So: 10/10

Animation? It's nothing like today's animation, since it was made in 1955, but when restored: 10/10

Voice Actors were at their best also. The best I can give it is: 10/10.

I'm impressed with Disney. The characters were awsome. So: 10/10

Overall: 10/10. You can't get much better than this movie. Outstanding!

All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 : 8 / 10

ADGTH 2, June 02, 2011

Surprisingly enough, All Dogs go to Heaven 2 has proven to be a very enjoyable sequel.

Though it differs greatly from the original movie, it continues from a good point where the first movie left off--the not-so-out-of-character idea that Charlie is tired of being in Heaven.

The plot is pretty interesting, though I wasn't too big on the character of Red or the extremely silly Carface, but luckily they were given just enough face-time in the movie to be significant to the plot and not lag as annoying comical-humor characters (sorry, though Red was a villain, I didn't really look at him as all that sinister).

David and Sasha were really fun characters and they worked extremely well with the movie, despite the rejection new characters often face by fans.

The movie, over all, has a great feel to it.  It's much cheerful than the original movie, though it doesn't scream out "super-happy-overkill."  The music and the animation [...]

Balto : 9 / 10

A great movie, June 01, 2011

This is about balto 1

I thought it was a great movie. The characters looked great and their personallitys were good.Balto is the best character he is a shy outcast whcih makes it more intersting.

The music went well with the scenes and the characters like the first scene with steele and the other dog racing the music sounded exciting and fast whcih went well with the scene.

The characters were great.Although i thought that muk and luk were not really important and so was rosie but muk and luk were funny characters and jenna was a big character so was boris and steele was involved alot.

The backrounds looked good and the town of nome had a good look to it.The boat was a bit eh.I wasn't really bothered if it was there or not.

So over all i give it a 9

The AristoCats : 10 / 10

Favourite childhood film, June 01, 2011

I was about 6 years old when I first watched "The Aristocats" so I've known this film a little longer then Balto, I reasons why I love this film is because it shows that it takes place in Paris, France, my second reason theres something going but other times it seems to take for a while and my thrid reason is that I love the three kittens Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse. My favourite kitten I loved at 6 years old was Marie, because she looked so fluffy and cute ^^

So I give rating 10/10 for this film

Spirit : 10 / 10

The best animated horse movie ever., May 30, 2011

Spirit is one of the best animated horse movies, ever. The animation is amazing and better than any other Dreamworks films I have seen. The breathtaking story takes you away to your imagination. The best part of its story is that it mentions every emotion you can think of. From happy to sad, confused to angry. I also love how spirit talks all the way through it, describing how he's feeling as the film moves on. The thing which also makes the film good is that the characters are realistic. Spirit is also realistic in the way the horses act, Like if you try capture a horse, the horse would try to get away (And probably trick you). What also is great about this film is the brilliant music in the background. I seriously think the music in the background is amazing and I'm glad Dreamworks have decided to make the Spirit OST.  The other thing that I liked about the film is that, not only children enjoy it, adults do as well.

Overall, I [...]

Animators Got It!, May 19, 2011

When I first saw Spirit, I went to the theater twice the same day to see it. Now, about nine years later, I am still obsessed with the movie. I just thought it was an awesome movie before because it had to do with animated horses, but now, I realize that there is much more too it. The way the characters look so "realistic". As in their not just actual fake looking horses, they have the quality of animated and real-life horses. The way the animators mixed the two together was fantastic, they each had muscles that would show in the correct places when the character walked, trotted, cantered, or galloped, or just standing still. Each character had their own unique design and personality. That actually brings up another topic. The way the characters facial expressions changed to show how they felt was absalutely amazing. Also, throughout the whole movie, the music that played also helped explain how they felt. Like the train scene."Sound the bugle now, tell them I dont [...]

Truly beautiful., April 24, 2011

When I first saw adds for this on TV, I didn't know what to think. Sure, I don't really remember it now, but I have always loved Spirit. I have to DVD copies of it, and I looked at EVERYTHING. Its truly got great animatiors, and great voices. The songs are amazing and they greatly written. I truly think that this movie is the best animated movie of all time, but I guess Toys Story took that. But I'm pretty sure it was the best animated movie in that time.

Anyway, I just have to say that I love Spirit and everything about it.

A Good, Heart-Touching Movie, April 23, 2011

When I first heard about Balto (when it came out) I thought it was going to be boring. But, my mom bought it for me. So, I watched it. And it turned out, that I started to get addicted to the movie. I loved it! And I still do. But, when the other two came out, which was Balto 2 and Balto 3, I started to think that the first one was the best out of them all! I really loved The Heritage of the Wolf scene. I mean, who wouldn't love that scene? It was heart touching. Especially when Balto started to belive he could do it.

I also liked The Boiler Room scene. That was cute. I'm a little fan of Jenna+Steele. Ok, maybe more than a little, but they would make very cute puppies. i also liked The Bear Fight scene. Oh, and when Rosie and the other children got better at the end. And Balto and Jenna became mates. I love all the scenes. But those are my most favorite.

Now, I have to give the movie 10/10 grade. Which means A+ + +. Or at least just A+. But, in my [...]

Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure : 9 / 10

A powerful love and family story, April 22, 2011

Many years ago as a lad I saw Lady & the Tramp (1955). I have not seen it in many years and I honestly cannot remember what age I was exactly when I last saw it. Mirroring myself as a lad who had yet to mature and understand the themes and storylines of films, there is not much that I can say about it; only that it was a lot of fun to watch and was quite entertaining; which, of course, is what Walt Disney films are all about. I know now that there was a lot more to that film than how I saw it with my young boy’s eyes. From my learning experience at school about themes and storylines; I saw a wonderful love story filled with a sense of family connection and a chance for those who seem different to everyone else to see the light that will bring them respect from surrounding folk and a new life filled with joy and wonder as if you were living Heaven on earth. Because of that, this film became a classical masterpiece that stood out from most other films following in the [...]

Bambi II : 9 / 10

A great continue., April 14, 2011

Bambi 2 is a really funny film which the whole family will enjoy. The best characters are back including Bambi, Thumper, Flower and Faline. Since we didn't know the rest of Bambi's childhood from when Bambi's mother dies, this film explains how Bambi reacted the rest of his childhood from this depressing moment. Although the film is not as good as the first, it still has kept that disney magic and can be watched over and over again for years.

A Good Mix, April 12, 2011

When first apperances in comercials i was immediatly turned away by the fact that it was going to be another boring horsy movie. I was wrong. In a time were western animated movies were starting to give way to CGI (Computer Generated Image) Dreamworks found a clever way of inserting animated charcters in a CGI world. Animators used CGI to expand on the world of spirit and give viewers a taste of the new. Not only was Spirits plot and storyline interesting the most fantastic part was the music. The music was amazing i found myself downloading the Backround onto my MP3. Spirit altogether was the best split CGI and western Animation.

Brother Bear : 9 / 10

The End of an Era, April 11, 2011

Brother Bear is one of those movies that define the term "to little to late". It came at a time when Disney was no longer top dog. A time when Pixar and Dreamworks were at the top of their game and with their state of the art CGI images made traditional 2D hand drawn animation feel obsolete. So by 2003 Pixar was the new king of animation and its grip on the industry was so dominant that some believe if The Lion King had been released in 2003 instead of 1994 it wouldn't have had nearly the impact that it had back then.

So along comes this sweet, cute, family friendly film from Disney called Brother Bear. It was looked upon as Disneys last desperate attempt to keep tradional animation from extinction. Since the change in direction at the start of the century with The Emperors New Groove the studio had only had two hits with Emperor and Lilo and Stich. So the entire future of 2D rested with Brother Bear. This was it. Disneys message to the general audience. Take [...]

Bambi: Love is a Song, April 10, 2011

To say that I love Bambi would be a huge understatement. I have a huge respect for Bambi, far more than some other animated films.

Bambi was a movie I never had the chance to see as a child, and so the first time I saw it was as an adult. It was only then that I could fully understand the significance of it, and I do adore Bambi with a passion.

Bambi is a terrific film. No flaws at all; simply perfect.

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 2 / 10

Balto Fans Beware!, April 03, 2011

Balto 3 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. True, it was good to see some of my favorite chars again, but there really wasn't anything exciting about this movie. The first movie had a race against time and a bad guy. Balto 2 wasn't as good but it had a few good parts. Really, the only thing exciting in this movie was the sled race with the plane. I didn't like how Kodi overreacted when Balto told him planes' time would come. Progress is progress, you can't change that. The musical scenes Stella and Jenna did were extremely irrtating and I found myself more than once screaming "Get on with it!" Really, all the characters seemed out of, well, character. Really, the only character I sort of liked was Ralph, but only because Bill Fagerbakke (the guy who plays Patrick in Spongebob Squarepants) was his voice. It seems that the more recent the movie becomes, the more it deteriorates. If you want to see this movie, I strongly advise you not to even [...]

Brilliant and excellent movie!, March 31, 2011

So, this is my first proper review. So I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly.

I watched this movie when I was younger and I couldn't stop watching it. I was basically playing it over and over. Now I'm older I can understand the movie properly and can make a proper review about it. So here goes:

The whole movie was fantastic, definately worth watching! The plot, characters, music, animation and almost everything of the movie was great! The animators' work definately paid off, I must say. I also suggest you go and watch this movie to see what I'm talking about.

Below are my overviews of the movie.

Plot- It was such an amazing plotline, it was unique and gave a whole meaning to the movie. I like how it's not like other princess movies that focus on love mainly. Anyways, it was an excellent plot!

Characters- The characters were very well developed unlike some other movies.

Anastasia was a brilliant character since she, as [...]

Aleu best seqal even better, March 23, 2011

i thought the second was the best cause the grafics images were best sadly i wish jenna was in it more and the pups i wish we could learn a the pups names and i wish balto had the same voice actor he sounded better in the first

Aleu was a alsome character yes she had a meanish moody mood but wounderful they also could have made aleu a little cuter cause in some sinces she all cute and suff but when she was a pup she had a boyish look and kinda oddbut overall Aleu was so the best of all

balto could have been better i notice a chnge in his fur colrs and his personality was way off then it was in the first move he was more shyisht sweetest dog i saw but balto could'n had chnge that fast so i think theyy were kinda lazy wriitng there scrips but i enjoyed balto

muk luk i really did not like them in any of the movvies cause theyy kinda are wimpish and they just did not seem to fit the movie really well but they are ok.

nava was kinda cool but he could been more [...]

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 6 / 10

Standard lil' kiddie material, March 21, 2011

A'ight, let  me break it down for you:

Story-- Basic in my opinion , I kind of guessed it from looking at the cover and the title "dogs vs. plane", tough I didn't expect it to have to  do with the mail dogs.  And the plane getting lost wasn't entirely expected either, though such a twist is still kind of standard for a typhical kid's movie.

Animation-- Less then good for sure, though it was kind of a step-up from the 2nd movie to me.

Characters-- Good for a kids movie, not good for me though. Stella was just bad and not necessary for the movie, not to mention not a compatible match for Boris; Mel was even worse, I literally MUTE my TV whenever he comes up; and Kodi--even  though he was Balto's son--I really don't see anything special about him, sorry, but I don't. Even Kodi's friends were somewhat annoying.

Music-- Nothing special here. The "Everything Flies" song [...]

Fairly Decent Film, March 19, 2011

So, after not seeing the film after so many years I decided to do some catching in order to give it a proper review. So here goes what I have to say, while keeping my mind clear.

Altogether, it was a decent film. I’m glad that research was done so that it maintained correctness to a fair level. The story itself didn’t keep the history it was based off perfectly, but then again what animated movie actually does (ex: Balto), so that was something I easily overlooked. But the historic elements contained, were still something that I was personally fond of and drawn to. It was well done, enough to deliver a fair idea of the background in order to understand the significance of the events seen.

The characters were pretty great. I admired Dimitri the most simply because he was the most developed and dynamic. Starting off as a selfish con-man, he underwent a change of heart and he started to see the value of good intention and what happiness really is. While [...]

Original and Amazing, March 14, 2011

Like many great animated movies, this one clearly has a lot of heart, effort and creativity mixed into it.

Before this movie, I didn't really think much about horses and since I had seen it in theaters I became completely obsessed with them for months.
This movie gives a highly interesting look at horses and it probably one of the best stories about them since "Black Beauty."

The idea that the horses don't talk adds to the movie's charm, because of the horses' behavior and the animator's lovely work we're able to tell what they're thinking, even without the narration (Matt Damon didn't narrate everything Spirit thought and Rain didn't speak at all).

Fantastic traditional animation--great movement and facial expressions, excellent character designs, etc.--well-done and well-blended CGI, fantastic special effects and an amazing soundtrack are all combined to make this movie extremely powerful and [...]

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 6 / 10

Balto 2: Wolf Quest, March 10, 2011

The first time I saw the movie, I was glad to see mostly because I was excited that the first movie (which I thought was beyond fantastic) was getting a sequel.  Now, when I actually saw the film I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but I didn't absolutely hate it, either.

What I didn't like most about it was Balto's and Jenna's characters and how much they changed.  Not only were their personalities from the original movie all but gone, but they had also changed in voice (which probably couldn't be helped, but Balto just wasn't the same without Kevin Bacon).  I did, however, enjoy the idea behind Balto and Jenna's rebellious daughter, Aleu.  I thought (thought sometimes annoyingly stubborn) she was a very headstrong character who made the story move at a pretty good pace.

The plot was alright, though I wish it had been executed differently.  The only good thing that came out of the [...]

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 3 / 10

A Bitter Disappointment, March 09, 2011

Sequels are often something to look forward to, simply because we all like to see more of something we already love. But its often disappointing and disheartening when our favorite film, movie, series, etc is followed up by something that doesnt meet out high expectations. Like most people, Balto 2 was one of those sequels that we found to be disappointing and sloppy.

One of the first expectations we look forward to are the return of our most beloved and cherished characters. We saw most of the main cast, including: Balto, Jenna, Muk and Luk, and Boris. Despite their appearances, they didnt follow the same character as before. Jenna did a fair job, but seemed to have lost the "strong feminine" edge that we saw previously. Muk, Luk, and Boris seemed to have kept their previous personalities, but sadly enough we dont get to see them often in the film. Balto was a constant appearance, but seemed to have gained a more bolder and talkative personality, not the shy guy we [...]

Balto : 9 / 10

Good Ole Classic, March 08, 2011

This particular movie is an gret example of good traditional animation that we lack nowadats. The animation is very done, and the character design very appropriate and distinguishable; Balto is designed to look small, and the under-dog (no pun intended) while Steel carries a far bigger and stronger build, in order to portray as the main opposition and antagonist. The style is another to trait to applaud about this movie, for it does a wonderful job of displaying canine and wolf anatomy (mostly), while still giving the characters humanized expressions and personalities.

The story and plot for this film is also of great quality. Although its based upon the true story of the Serum Run, it still delivers a message and moral that many of us can learn from: succeeding against all odds. Balto is displayed as the character who gets tormented for his appearance and heritage, and wishes only to be accepted and loved. Despite the many obstacles he encounters, he continues to show kindess [...]

TaleSpin : 9 / 10

The Quality of a Disney Serial, March 07, 2011

I, like many people my age, loved to watch Disney cartoons when I was little. And I suppose I took it for granted that animation would always be with us, waiting to be watched on Saturday mornings on the Disney Channel. Now that I've grown up, I've learned that you cannot take ANYTHING for granted. I did feel, however, that animation was meant only for kids--specifically, TV animation.

I am very glad that Steet made this Source, because it helped to prove me wrong. Granted, the animation is not incredibly well-done, but it's far better than some other TV show animation I've seen. And the voice acting is top-notch, and most of the episodes are not only action-packed, but have their sense of hilarity as well.

All in all, TaleSpin is fastlly cathing my interest once more. Great show!

Anastasia : 10 / 10

OMG - LOVE, February 28, 2011

Most of the time, this kind of Princess movie would have never gotten my interest, but this movie really got to me.

The characters were amazing, I'm glad Anya was there, not just some female added just cus'. And Dimitri was awesome, the diolage between them was really good.

Puka I didn't care for, but he isn't really in the movie too much so I won't knock off a point.

The only thing that I disliked about the movie was Rasputin's bones and what not. It made me cringe.

The music, ahhh the music. :-) So lovely, I really like Once upon a december, it's just what the film needs.

I give full credit for the music.

The animation is amazing here, Its just really good. They did their research if anyone watches the special features. And the plot? Its very intresting. This is a very tragic moment in history, its not just something you make a film out of, and I am GLAD they changed it up. ;-; The true story was depressing. (And [...]

Anastasia : 10 / 10

One of the Best Animated Films in History, February 27, 2011

I had only recently seen Anastasia through Netflix when I was on vacation, and it's easily won my heart ever since. I had first mistakened the movie to be from Disney, because everything was fantastic in story and quality. The animation, characters, effects, music, and feeling of the movie was perfect. Usually animation can be a bit skippy, but this film's animation was very smooth and fit in with the realistic image of a live film. The personalities of the character's expressions and voices were spot on and enjoyable. I loved how Anastasia and Dimitri constantly acted towards each other from beginning to end, and how their feelings changed for each other throughout the film. I'm also usually not one for romances, especially in animation, but I fell in love with this one. I'm a fan of Anastasia x Dimitri, they're an excellent couple. The sarcasm throughout the movie was a winner for me, too.

Now, usually I don't like the soundtrack animated movies [...]

An amazing movie , February 24, 2011

I have loved this movie for quite a long time. I was very young when I first saw it, and I've grown up since then, of course. This movie is still one of my favoriote Animated Movies.

Why? To start, the animation is spot on and very detailed. It really seemed like the animators took their time to make it perfect. Contuining on, the music is amazing. Even the back ground music seems to just slide into the movie easily; it doesn't stick out likea sore thumb.

Unlike other movies, the background music/ music sung by the characters doesn't drown out what they are saying.

You can actually understand what's being said. Over all, the movie was spectacular. I enjoyed every last bit of it.

The Secret of NIMH : 8 / 10

The Secretof NIMH: Plugged In, February 17, 2011

Nobody seems to be terribly fond of moving day. For most of us, it's a time when we have to leave our old neighborhood, our old friends, our old life.

For Mrs. Brisby, on the other hand, it's a matter of life and death. Literally.

You see, her little house happens to be inside a cinderblock the middle of a field that's been sitting fallow all winter. The same field that is due any day now to be turned inside-out by that not-so-little plow over by the farmhouse. Slight bummer, but no big deal – until she learns that her son has pneumonia and will probably die if he leaves the house for the next two weeks or so. And as if that's not trouble enough, then she finds out that her late husband used to hang out with some decidedly eerie rats who may now be the only thing standing between her son and an oversized blender set to puree. And that's not even accounting for the evil rat Jenner, a walking disaster area of a crow named Jeremy, the mysterious [...]

Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure : 10 / 10

Awesome sequel, February 14, 2011

I loved this movie alot. I find it to be very good for a sequel, and worth watching.

Animation: I'm not an expert on this, but I think the animation was very nice. Everything flowed nicely, there were no un-natural movements, I think.

Backgrounds: These were nicely drawn/painted, and likeable. Many were really colourful, and added a lot to the movie.

Characters: I can't find a single one that I dislike. Okay, maybe Lady's and Tramp's roles were a bit bland, but they still were likeable. In my opinion, all characters were developed well enough, and all were likeable.

Songs: Once again, the songs were all really nice. They fit well to the movie, and made sense. I loved every single one of them.

Voice Acting: Pretty good. Okay, I found Lady's and Tramp's voices to be, well, too much aged/old for them. Other than that, those were good.

Plot: I find it to be really cute for Scamp to find love at his young age xD That was really sweet. [...]

The Lady and the Tramp : 10 / 10

Lady & The Tramp Is Romantic And Beautiful, January 29, 2011

I liked the fact that Lady is a house dog, and Tramp is a stray. Tramp is my third favorite LATT character. And I also like that Disney made them fall in love. And seeeing them eating that italian food made me hungry. I especialy like because it's about dogs. Now, if I were to choose from Lady & the Tramp and Lady & the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure, I would have to pick the second one. But their both very good movies. I also like that they made Lady & the Tramp romantic, funny, cool, and ofcourse, animation. Although, I would love to see a real life version of this, it will probably never happen.

What grade would I give Lady & the Tramp?

10/10

I think the movie was pitch perfect. And, I did not see one animation mess up. So, in my class, if I got a 10/10, like Lady & the TRamp, it would be an A +.

Balto : 10 / 10

It\'s A Awesome Movie!, January 29, 2011

Truly, it was a very awsome movie. And beautiful, too. I liked the part when Muk and Luk saved Balto. They changed the true story about Balto and made a animation movie. And making it animation made me and my friends want to by it so badly. So when it came out, I bought. And, to be honest, it is better then the second and third. The second was ok, but Aleu, she talked like a five year old. And, the third one was cooler than the second one. But it didn't have the true Balto spirit in it.

The Grade I would give it is 10/10. It was a 100% perfect. And they didn't mess up the animation. In the second one, they had a few animation problems. And the third, I saw one animation mistake. They made a part of Kodi's muzzle red. But other than that, all the movies are awsome. But I truly love this one the best.

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 7 / 10

I dunno... I thought it was ok., January 22, 2011

I dunno. It was ok.

Animation: Very good. Should've used a bit better poses though. Balto's build wasn't as good as the first movie. Jenna the same. Aleu has a nice build. It was very annoying how she always had some what whinny poses. Muk and Luk were the same annoying Nancy and Mary bears XD Boris was cool. The pups were cute. I loved all the animation. :)

Animators: Ugh they sucked big time. Ear color changes, marking changes, color changes... I thought they did a terrible job. Honestly... I'm surprised they didn't make Balto white and black. The first movie had hardly ANY flaws. :(

Cast: Maurice LaMarche? Replacing Kevin Bacon for Balto? ICK! Jodi Benson was ok for Jenna. Certainly not what I've picked. Lacey Chabert's voice is terrible and sounds like nails on black board. David Carridine for Nava. That fit perfectly for him. I wish David was still around. :( Mark Hamill fit for a bad guy voice yet it was somewhat annoying. Charles [...]

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 5 / 10

Could have been Better, Could have been Worse, January 21, 2011

Maybe this is just me, but I thought this was at least a tiny step up from Balto 2. Actually, I think this should have been the original second movie. At least it keeps the same sort of tone the first movie had.

The animators weren't great. The anatomy was even worse and many of the characters weren't even realistically colored (I mean come on, Dusty was purple and Ralph was blue!). And some characters were just hateful (cough-Stella-cough). But at least these characters weren't ripped off from other movies.

The music. Just as bad as the first movie. Corny and aimed at five years olds who want to sing along with the movie.

However, they kept that whole history/ almost- true theme going and the overall plot was pretty good. For example, the whole Bush plane idea was original and most of the storyline is about as believable as the first movie.

I think this movie could have been really great if they used this as the second movie instead of [...]

Balto : 10 / 10

An Under-appreciated Classic, January 21, 2011

Clearly, the majority of people on the Animation Source like Balto more than the other sites but it's for a good reason. Even after being on this site and years after I watched it the first time, I still love it and it's one of my favorite animated movies.

First off, the characters are original and they all have a purpose. The animators did an amazing job regarding character designs, anatomy (even if it is a cartoon, you have to admit some of the best are the ones that have animals that look the way they're supposed to), and basically everything else about them.

Second, the music was great! There weren't any corny sing-along songs and the only vocal song was actually pretty good!

Third, it draws attention to an event that's very overlooked and even though lots of parts from the story were changed, the writers did a great job of keeping the story at least close to being true. Plus, you can tell they did some type of research for the movie.

I still [...]

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 10 / 10

Good movie., January 14, 2011

Why do I give this miovie a 10 out of 10? Well I give it a 10/10 for one reason. What is that reason? To help the rating fo up. I think this was a 9 out of 10 movie. What I liked about it? The story was good, not as good as the 1st Balto. The Acting, with the exception of the chick that voiced Alue, was good, although I wish they kept the original voices in there. The songs are good. The movie was funnier then the first. I love Alue as a character. I wish Universal would have explain what happen to Balto's family and what happen to Steele. Mark Hamill (who played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) and David Carridean did an awesome job playing their parts. All the other voices, with the exception of Aleu's, was good. It had me in tears a couple of times during the movie. Here's my own rating:

Overall: A

Story: A

Acting: A-

Visuals: A

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 3 / 10

Im not really sure., January 09, 2011

Where shall I start? I did like this movie, but It didnt seem to follow after Balto. They had a good story line, but I disliked how they made Aleu to be like a snob and didnt give a crap about what her father said or did. To tell you the truth if I acted like that, my dad would kick me out the door.  I also disliked how  when they were selling the puppies, everyone rejected Aleu. I'm pretty sure most kids (or adult) would want a wolf, or wolf-dog as a pet. I didnt understand why they made Balto more wolf looking, he was a darkbrown-grey colour,  I guess no one is perfect, but they coulda not made him so wolfish, I know they were trying to add more wolf in it, for part of the story line and how Balto was gettin' old, but he didnt have to be grey.  There were tons of great parts of the movie but also some bad parts, if you ever payed close attention you would notice they did horrible with following designs, but I cant blame anyone, were not perfect... and [...]

Balto is the best wolf movie!, January 06, 2011

Balto was a great movie! The storyline was good and acting was awesome with Kevin Bacon as Balto, Bob Hoskins as Boris, Bridget Fonda as Jenna, and Jim Cummings as Steele. Balto is a awesome wolf-dog and Steele is the best bad guy in any dog/wolf movie! I've first seen the movie on Feb. 15th, 2007! I loooooove the fight scene when Steele beat the crapout of Balto and I also love the white wolf scene! This is my favorite Balto movie of all three! Feb. 15th, 2011 will mark the 4th anniversy of loooving Balto. Balto and Kodi (Balto 3: Wings of Change) is my favorite male characters. My favorite female characters are Jenna and Alue (Balto 2: Wolf Quest). Balto is the coolest and is my favorite 2D animation character of all time and tied for first for all-time favorite animated chacters (along with Humphrey and Lilly from Alpha and Omega, a movie I loooove).

Here's my own rating:

Overall: A+

Story: A+

Acting: A+

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 3 / 10

Where to begin...?, December 13, 2010

I have to say, this movie did dissapoint me. I think they did okay, but they could've done better. I didn't like the fact that this movie rested souly on Kodi, nor did I like how WQ had Aleu as a main character. They should've brought out the other dogs more, or at least mentioned them! I found it weird how Dusty had looked like Aleu. I also didn't like the fact that the dogs were short, and had stubby legs. I also wish the characters had more original designs, but you can't get everything. Also,  the characters' personalities weren't that great either. Dusty was just a tom-boyish dog. She didn't have a real story behind her. And Ralph was an idiot. He just seemed like some big ugly dog who thought he was so cool. And Kirby. Well, he was just off. He acted as if he was the best thing since sled dog racing. Dipsy was just a character with no purpose. She just ate throughout the whole movie! Mel was weird and jumpy. Why was he so jumpy anyways? Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 2 / 10

If You're Thinking about Watching, Think Again, December 10, 2010

Well when I first heard this movie was coming out, I was excited as anyone as this site could've been. And when it came out, I was ten times as disappointed.

The music is okay but coming from someone who can't listen to songs over and over again, it got a bit painful after a while listening to corny songs.

The characters were off too. Jenna was nothing like she was in the first movie and neither was Balto. Even if they did have a family, it wouldn't change them that much! Boris, Muk and Luk were the only characters who didn't change.

Of course, the animation was awful. The backgrounds were incredible, but the characters couldn't compare. There are more then enough articles pointing out lazy mistakes that the animators made. But given the budget, it's not that surprising.

The plot was awful. Plain and simple.

The thing that makes me dislike this movie so much is Aleu herself. Quite frankly, she's a brat. I don't [...]

The best thing since sliced bread!, November 28, 2010

I absolutly love this movie! For so many reasons; the amazing animation, the inspirational message, the love story, the merchandise.......so many things! I give it a 10 for sure. I would recommend it to anyone.(i already have!) I am a solid Balto fan, so solid that it doesnt bother me too much that the sequels were rushed.(but dont get me wrong, I still believe Balto was done a great wrong in it's rushed sequels!) Watch it, and watch it again, any of you controversial types, and find the amazing-nicity of this movie in its true form!

Balto : 10 / 10

Balto Movie as an Inspiration!, November 16, 2010

First, why would I rate this movie a ten? Well honestly, I'm sicken tired of these no-good-for-nothing CGI movies, although there are a couple of exceptions, for example, Ice Age, Bolt and How to Train your Dragon. The old style animation alone is one of the reason why I so love that movie!

Second, when it comes to the sotryline, you really can't stray too much from a true story, so I'll cut some slack on that. But I must mention that they worked very well with what the writers had, I mean honestly, a story about a dog-sled team traversing the frozen plains? BORING! Add a little Balto twist into it... BAM! Success!

Finally, the characters themselves. What are the odds of putting together sucha good team? Two bears that can't swim, a goose that doesn't fly, and a wolf/dog that can't really place himself?! That makes the viewer feel so bad for the group they have no choice but to cheer them on!

The Movie to me is inspiraring in the sense that no [...]

Best Balto since the first one, November 13, 2010

In my opinion this is possibly the best Balto ever! Plus it had one actor that no could forget, Sean Astin. Great movie and great characters except for one that i've heard the majority who've seen the movie nobody liked and neither do I, Stella. Voice acting was well put together and the plot was an "ok" to follow but i think it went by just a little to fast. It had a very well balance between humans talking and Blato and other animals talking in it, there was never any only humans talk and the animals didnt say anything or the other way around. I'm not sure if this was on any TV channel or not, but it probably was. Well to summarize it all its epic and has an "ok" storyline that went by fast and, now that im talking about it Im gonna go watch it now, Hoped you like my review!

TaleSpin : 10 / 10

Best. Series. EVER, November 10, 2010

To tell the truth, even though I'm from 1984 and was old enough to watch TaleSpin when it used to air here in France, I just didn't watch TV series that much. And I really discovered TaleSpin only two years ago...

In a way, this makes my opinion even less biased, because I have absolutely no nostalgic effect on it. And to cut it short : I love this show.

On first sight, the show may seem like a Jungle Book spin-off, as three famous characters (Baloo, Louie and Shere Khan) are present - but this is VERY far from the truth, the show being very unique and creative on almost every side : clever and varied stories, great characters, good animation and orchestral musics...

And while this was a series "marketed" with kids in mind, it has different levels of reading, so that both kids and adults alike will love the stories. The show never hesitates to mention "hard" topics : money problems, jealousy, treason, war, death...while staying true to the Disney [...]

Not good, not great, but AMAZING!, November 10, 2010

Spirit is probably one of the best animated films I've ever seen! It has great action and romance with a bit of comedy as well. I also think it's excellent how so much emotion is conveyed when over half the characters don't even talk. It can be slightly slow at times but it soons picks up the pace and has me on the edge of my seat.

All together- a brilliant film!

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 5 / 10

The End? So many questions..., November 08, 2010

Ok. Balto 3: Wings of Change. By far the most controversial of the Balto trilogy. There were so many things Whienstein could have done. I think the most important thing Whienstein could have done in this movie is give a good detailed story to Kodi and his friends (Kirby, Ralph, Dusty). I didn't see that, it sidetracked way too many times over to Stella and Boris, and in my opinion was a complete waste of time, and talent. There was zero need for Stella, or a relationship with Boris at all. What Whienstein should have done was, again, add a story, and add a relationship with two of the four characters (Ex: Kodi/Dusty or Dusty/Ralph) and carry on with that. Cut Stella out, and make Boris his original self, Balto's guide, and add the humor of his annoyance to Muk and Luk. There was no point to adding Stella, and because of that relationship with Boris, and not Kodi and/or his friends, it has began this really controversial argument between the fans.

Another thing about [...]

About Balto and Jenna..., October 31, 2010

Why the desing of the characters change on Wolf Quest and Wings of Change? Everyone who ask that is because see the first movie and when see the second one find 2 details:

- The face and the body of Balto and Jenna are so diferent than the first movie,  OF COURSE!

- The color of Balto.

For me is so rare about that change. Well, for me Balto 2 is a good movie for the children and the adults.

Balto 3 : Wings of Change : 7 / 10

The Trilogy Finale... could have been better, October 28, 2010

"Balto", the first movie in this series, got viewers all over the world enthralled with the sport of dog-sledding. The first sequel, "Wolf Quest", left that focus, returning to the wilder half of Balto's heritage, as well as added Balto's six children with Jenna. But we all know that good things come in threes, don't they?

So, three years after the successful release of "Wolf Quest", "Balto III: Wings of Change" gave us an ending with a rather safe story that returned to Balto's original passion: pulling a dog-sled.

Three years have passed since the events of the first film, and the year is 1928. Balto's son, Kodiak [or Kodi, as he is commonly called] has achieved his dream of being a sled dog like his famous hero of a father. However, getting used to the rules and ways of sled-dog life isn't the hardest part, as a bush plane, piloted by a blond-haired man named Duke, challenges the sled team to see which [...]

Back To Better Animation, October 28, 2010

Like any other kid when i first watched Balto, it was love at first sight. Growing made me forget Balto but after the second Balto came out i was truly disapointed in the animation, acually now that I remember, I remember thinking who is this Balto looking dog? Also i was really dissapointed in Muk and Luk's animation as well as voice. Don't get me wrong loved the movie, including the plot and music, and was impressed by Aleu's animation. But back to the point when i saw Balto 3, first thing i said was"yes finally back to better animation". Also the plot and history around it is very accurate. But best of all just glad to get back the origanal animation.

The best part about Balto 3 Wings of Change is all the vocies who participated such as Sean Austin(Lord Of The Rings) and Jodi Benson(Little Mermaid). Little Balto testamony, i found Balto when going through a Sean Austin list of movies and in the 2004 bracket then there was Balto 3 voice of [...]

A Positive Review for WQ [even with the flaws], October 27, 2010

When I first found out that there was going to be a sequel to one of my favorite childhood films, I was excited and anticipating how the next chapter of Balto's journey would be. I figured the obvious: He'd settle down with Jenna and copopulate while still managing some sense of adventure.

I was somewhat right. Enter "Balto II: Wolf Quest".

Two months after the ending of the first film [and after saving the day, becoming a hero and getting the girl], Balto has a new job title: DADDY. With six pups to carry on his legacy, nothing could possibly be better... except for these weird dreams of ravens, wolves and ice that haunt him at night and the fact that one of his pups looks as wild as he does. Meet Aleu, the free-spirited and rebellious daughter that howls when she's happy and excited and has a knack for correcting bad grammar... As much as the title says that it is Balto's sequel, it is more about Aleu's journey than anything, as a near brush [...]

If any have read my review of Balto II: Wolf Quest, one would know I did not like the representation of the movie at all.  When I heard a rumor of a THIRD Balto movie, I was quick to question its existance.  After the seemingly failure of Balto II, I was skeptical of the producer's ability to create another Balto sequal.  But I was proven wrong as Balto Source soon annnounced, Balto III was indeed in production.  When the trailor was released I was one of many who watched the synopsis over and over again until we were certain the movie would hopefully fulfill our expectations.

They were met.

We knew of the buget cuts and the lack of animators due to constant contact between Universal and Balto source, so we expected minor misshaps.

Balto III brought back our favorite hero, this time connecting him with the era of the airplane rather then a fantasy world version of the matrix inwhich the characters do the impossible with the world around [...]

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 3 / 10

Greatly Expectations, Low Approval, October 27, 2010

When I first saw this trailor after watching NCIS, I was astounded.  "They're making a sequal?" I asked myself over and over. I checked Balto Source multiple times to make sure I hadn't been dreaming.   Sure enough it was there and in the making, greatly anticipated by many Balto fans around the world.

When I saw it...I was puzzled.  Yes, puzzled.  Within the first ten minutes of the film, I spotted several mistakes on the producer's part and the animators.  Balto's eyes were white, Balto's Hero status seemingly gone, the strong self-confident wolf/dog was replaced by an over-worried mutt who couldn't let his daughter, a half-grown wolf (nearly 18-20 years in human years) know about her heiritage until a hunter shot at her.  Seriously, it is something as simple and obvious as that that needs to be explained when a pup is a pup.  Alue thought a hunter, who was aiming at her, would adopt her!

Now [...]

A Story for the Ages, October 27, 2010

I was no older than 6 at the time when I first watched Balto, barely out of preschool and yet I remember the movie as if I had first watched it.  It would be my first canine protagonist movie (All Dogs go to Heaven would be my second on my 8th borthday).  When I first saw it I  saw it as the usual talking animals adventure.  And oh! was it an adventure!.  Though animated, the creators of the movie knew how to occupy the persons watching, never was there a dull moment.  Serious, casual, romance, conflict, and comedy--Balto had all of this, even adults watching this film for the first time could follow the story and get the jokes spoken within.

************ SPOILER*************************SPOILER********************SPOILER***********************

What I liked most about Balto is how the ending was.  Before Balto I had watched most movies' villians fall to their deaths or meet a fast or slow death at the [...]

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 9 / 10

Interesting, to Say the Least, October 27, 2010

I first saw "Balto: Wolf Quest" during its Cartoon Network in 2001. At the time, I had seen the first "Balto", but a long time ago, and didn't really remember too much about it. So I was just browsing through the channels on TV one day, and saw this film come up. I was curious, and decided to watch it.

Let's just say I liked it so much, I was in tears.

From a critical perspactive, the animation was sloppy, but the story and acting was terrific. There's so much to look at, and so much that I love about this film. It not only introduced me to "Balto", but helped inspire me with its great story, memorable characters, and the heart-warming relationship between Balto and Aleu.

If you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out.

Balto : 5 / 10

My Review, October 27, 2010

In General; The movie was OK - a great film for kids - no doubt about it, and it was heartwarming.

What I didn't like In General : While parts of this film IS based on a true story, I didn't like how they made Balto part wolf (Which FYI in real life he WASN'T) to make him seem more of an outsider, I'd rather of had the film where he was disliked because he wasn't as fast or something. (Though I guess it did give window for that awful sequal...)

Animation: The animation was OK. Nothing amazing to me. Wasn't bad, but not great.

Characters: I thought the characters were great in this film, needs some work on Balto here and there, but I really enjoyed Steele.  Balto was a Ok character, Jenna I felt was uneeded, I loved Steele, and my favorite character, Rosey. The live-action parts of the statue and "Old Rosey" really made the film better for me, and were my favorite parts.

Plot; I like the main plot - (Balto saves [...]

When I saw Balto, October 27, 2010

I say Balto a little bit before I turned 13. I had a small memory of  it since I had seen a little when I was a little todler. I remember Balto had got Rosie's hat, but that was all I remembered. I am know 13 and enjoy the movie. My favorite characters were Balto, Jenna, White Wolf, Rosie, and Dixie. After I finished watching the film since I had rented it I enjoyed it.

Balto, Jenna, and the other characters had perfect voices and were drawn young and looked great. It was a sweet story. I liked how even though Balto was part wolf he was strong and had sweetness that Balto and Jenna had towards each other and how Balto wanted to save everyone, but Rosie was the one who motivated him. The strongest quote was probably. "A dog can not make this journey alone...,but maybe a wolf can,"

This quote was strong since Balto was part wolf. It told Balto that being part wolf isn't that bad. He may be part wild animal, but it gave him the [...]

Balto the Movie 1, October 26, 2010

I really like this movie as a child and still it is one of my favorite movies. I love the animation quilty done on this, even if the movie was made near the year of 1997. Even though taht was only about 13 years ago I still consider it very nice quilty compared to it's sequals. They put a lot of effert into this movie and pictured it as a big production. But sadly it wasn't as popular as they hoped. But still this movies is in my top ten! Out of all the movie's I would say this one is my favorite. They plot was terrific and I would say I watched it more then 15 times as a kid. I enjoyed the movie very much as a kid as I do now. I own all three 'Balto' Movies on DVD. I would say that for 3 years as a child Balto II was on my christmas list to complete my collection! I still remeber the day I recived my Balto I DVD. I was a child though and was happier then ever! I would say that this movie is a movie in one of my 1-3 slots on my list! Maybe even number one, [...]

Balto Rules!, October 26, 2010

I've always loved Balto. It's my favorite movie and I think it's one of the best movies out there! Balto should be loved by everybody (unless you don't like dogs or wolves). I'm very glad they made a 2nd one and a 3rd. I've seen every one too and they are all very good. But none of those are as good as the original!

Balto 2 : Wolf Quest : 3 / 10

Anticipated, disappointed., October 26, 2010

With the release of Balto on the VHS, I fell in love with the film. As a kid I would find myself watching the movie over and over again, and of course, anticipating the next release of a sequel, if there would be one. Lo and behold my prayers had been answered, only to be disappointed in what I had watched, feeling as if another great masterpiece had been brutally butchered by a sequel.

Of course I somewhat enjoyed watching the film, having a childhood hero such a Balto to star in it, his trusty pal, Boris, aswell as the lovable duo, Muk & Luk. The storyline/plot had began it's build with the first sequence in the movie, at least it peaked my interest to foreshadow what had been in store later on in the film. Though that had ended soon enough, with an obvious switch of the artist(s). The entire style of the film was poor, many times had my sights crossed a disfigured proportion of the bodies, aswell as the incredulous movement of the lips during dialogue. [...]

My first review, October 26, 2010

Yep, its my first review and Im basing this off of knowledge and others complaints/comments to this movie. Well to start things off, its not a bad film but not a horrible film at all. This movie is more of a "rent and see if you like it first before you buy it", because from what I've heard the voice acting was good except for Aleu's voice, people are saying its to child-ish and I'm some what leaning towards it. If they could've found someone who had a little bit older voice than her voice would fit perfectly. Now, im gonna go onto the music, well I myself somewhat listened to the music and it isnt to bad in my opinion. Basing off of wikipedia the music composer is Adam Berry, which who won two Emmy nominations, the first was the 2005 Emmy for his Kim Possible music and his second one was the 2010 Emmy for his music in The Penguins of Madigascar. One other thing is that it also aired on TV on Cartoon Network on March 2, 2009. I dont think [...]

Balto: A breath-taking experience, October 26, 2010

As we know, this film was published based on the real story, but, in a way, I prefer this version better. Balto 1 creates a visual setting, complete with well-thought-out, developed characters, and strong family values.

During the film, we learn not only about the characters, but tidbits of their pasts (esp. Balto) as well as their likes, dislikes, and "rankings" in Nome. This is something rarely done in most animated films, and the fact that during the first 15 minutes you have an idea of the plot is perfect, esp. for younger children that will watch this film, and have difficulty grasping plots.

The film shows true moral and family values. For instance, Jenna`s "ability" to be the only one in Nome to realize Balto`s true potential as a hero show others not to judge a book by its cover, and to "see into the souls" of others. Balto`s wolfdog heritage but amazing abilities show us that a true hero is not always dressed up and beautiful, and [...]

My Review, October 25, 2010

Where to begin, I was first introduced to the movie around the time right before the theatrical release in the US. I remember old commercials and adverts introducing the movie and quite oddly I remember seeing merchandise on the shelfs at some local shopping centres.

I enjoyed my follow through with the first orignal movie. It was probably one of the, if not the best animated movies I did watch on the theaters back in the 90's. I always appreciated and enjoyed the adventure the movie took me on, through time and in the northern alaska state blizzards.

When I first watched the movie, the main part that stuck to my mind was the WhiteWolf Scene the part I will never forget. I always did have a curiosity of to who that wolf was. I even thought it was pretty funny when Steven Spielberg gave Star the E.T. character when the group was going through the icecave Lol another memorable part from the film.

I was always and have been a fan of the movie, ever [...]

Toy Story : 9 / 10

A great family film, October 24, 2010

As many people know, Toy Story really overshadowed Balto during it's release; and I personally feel it has earned it.

Toy Story is a fantastic film, and although the CGI isn't the best (as it was the first computer-animated film by Disney/Pixar); it was still a fantastic watch. I remember first watching Toy Story, I was glued to the screen; just amazed by the toys. The three Toy Story films have to be the best CGI films out there (yes, BETTER then Avatar) with TS1, TS2 and TS3 each being the best film of the year.

If you have kids, are a kid, or if you are interested in animated films, the Toy Story franchise is most certainly for you.
