Remember, when more of these become available, they will all be linked to the episode on the website:

I was thinking about posting some tips for our future transcribers, and for future reference for members already in the works of transcripting.
Tips on transcribing

Transcribing can be difficult at times, even more so if you're in a loud area or a loud house with many people. The first step or tip you can take is to just find a quiet place, away from the noises. If you don't have a laptop or iPod, turning off the TV, or asking your family members to (politely of course, rude isn't the answer) move to a new room or keep their voices down is key. Hearing the words to the video/podcast/download is of course crucial.

Try to keep as close to the original speech as you can. Turning up the volume a little never hurt anyone. Just try not to stray from what the person is actually saying. Don't write down what you want them to say, write down what they /did/ say. Of course you can miss a couple of words. Word-by-word is the way to roll, but if you miss a few along the way, its not a huge loss.

Of course, the smart thing to do is ask a fellow sourcecaster (or if your not transcribing for sourcecast, and it's a different subject entirely, ask a trusted person) to review over your transcripts with you. Ask them to point out spelling mistakes with names or usernames, what you should use for intros, and so on. It would be in your best interest to message them your concerns about transcripting you may have as well.

Another thing I found useful is to take your time. There's no rush. More than a day is fine. When you rush, your prone to creating errors and mistakes, and even though you can have the opportunity to go back and fix them, it doesn't really make the best impression.

When you transcript, using the proper grammar and such just makes it better. Periods, commas, semi-colans, and the like. Spellchecker is a nice tool on Word Document as well.

When writing transcripts, I like to use Microsoft Word, or Open Office. They are nice, and provide helpful tools to make your transcripting pop. Using NotePad isn't the road to sucsess.

I know these tips aren't the best, but they're what have helped me so far. By following these I've had fun and have been enjoying transcriping episodes for /your/ enjoyment. (Thread may be updated as ideas come in.)
