What is your opinion on old Disney films from the 40s? Do you like them or do your prefer the more modern Disney movies?
I like them, sometimes more than modern Disney. Here's my opinion:
Pinocchio - I didn't like this much at first, but now I think it is a powerful film that's deeper than it appears on the surface. Jiminy Cricket is very funny.
Dumbo - One of my favourites!
The animation is not as fancy as the others, but I think it's really cute and touching. The 'Baby Mine' scene makes me mist up.
Bambi - Quite possibly the best animated film I have ever seen. I loved it when I was five, and I still love it now, even though I'm 14. It's such a charming and simple film, but like Pinocchio, it's deeper than it appears.
I haven't included Fantasia or any of Disney's 'package films' because I haven't actually seen any of them. I guess that Fantasia was popular enough to generate a sequel!
But anyway, what do you think?
