(I know there is a topic about the 'Cartoon Network' series, but now that it's finally upon us I believe it deserves its own topic) Hi guys, as some of you may know, at 7:30 (Eastern time I think...all I know is that it was at half-past midnight in the UK) on 7 August Cartoon Network aired a 'preview' of their new series Dragons: Riders of Berk. I managed to watch it on LiveStream, and it was pretty awesome (beside the dragon poop and the not-so-Scottish Gobber and Stoick). Dreamworks announced details at ComicCon San Diego last month, about how the series would compliment the movies, but not hinder them for people who haven't watched the series. The plots of each episode are expected to be just as deep and heartwarming as Gift of the Night Fury (just...not as good animation) and that they will all introduce new dragons and characters. Best news though, is that Alvin the Treacherous will be joining sometime in the series. Mwahaha! 2-minute preview (that really doesn't do the first two 'preview' episodes justice): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5dvv4GGcNAEpisode 1 - How To Start A Dragon Academy: http://www.livestream.com/cfdragons/vid ... m=ui-thumbEpisode 2 - Vikings For Hire: http://www.livestream.com/cfdragons/vid ... m=ui-thumb

Saw the preview episodes on YouTube and the series looks great! Yes, the animation wasn't as high quality as the movie, but that still didn't do much to deter the enjoyment if the series. A lot of crap that CN airs nowadays has turned me away from that channel completely, but I'll definitely be watching this series!

Good news! The show just received 11 Annie nominations!
The Annie nominations were released today, with Riders of Berk nominated a whopping 10 times (with an additional nomination for Gift of the Night Fury)! That's more than any other show on the list, and speaks to the amazing quality of this Riders of Berk. The nominations are for: •Best Animated Television Production For Children •Character Animation in Animated Television (Shi Zimu, Teri Yam, and Yan Jiazhuang) •Character Design in Animated Television (Andy Bialk, "Alvin and the Outcasts") •Directing in Animated Television (John Eng, "Animal House") •Music in Animated Television (John Paesano, "How to Pick Your Dragon") •Storyboarding in Animated Television (Doug Lovelace, "Portrait of Hiccup as a Buff Man") •Writing in Animated Television (Mike and Linda Teverbaugh, "Animal House") •Editorial in Animated Television (Lynn Hobson, "Animal House")
What do you think?

If anyone is outside America or hasn't got any chance to watch the show on Cartono Network probably the best thing is to go to CFDragons on Livestream.com and watch the episodes there! It'a safe and they upload the new episode in 10 hours after the release. Try it. http://www.livestream.com/cfdragons

Why doesn't someone update the list of aired episodes on the HTTD AS? There have been a LOT more then 2 episodes. 13 have aired already, here they are: How to Start a Dragon Academy, Viking For Hire, Animal House, Terrible Twos, In Dragons We Trust, Alvin and The Outcasts, How to Pick Your Dragon, Portrait of Hiccup as a Buff Young Man, Dragon Flower, Heather Report Part 1, Heather Report Part 2, Thawfest, When Lightning Strikes. They come on on Wednsdays at 8:00 pm, but they didn't show a episode this week, and I checked my listings but there're not showing a new episode next week either!

Here's what I hated: 1) They used the Norse god Thor waaaaay too much
2) They're over-using the 'dragons are bad lets get rid of them'. I mean, yeah it was okay on the first episode, and the second, and the third, and the- see what I mean? When are they going to except the dragons? They already saved their butts in the middle of a snowstorm, they helped them with their fish problem, they planted their gardens, they saved them from being killed by Alvin- need I say more?
3) Hiccup getting struck by lightning. Just too much.
4) They used the ending of the movie after they ran out of dumb ideas. (Except he didn't lose his leg)
5) They put Toothless in the exact same thing they did at the end of the movie. (The harness thingy)
