I saw it today. It was a really good movie, I liked it. The idea was pretty imaginative, the only change I would've made is towards the end but I won't say it to avoid spoiling it.

I want to see this almost solely to see how Adam Sandler fares in a Disney movie His characters/movies are usually pretty raunchy/adult so (moreso the earlier stuff)... him + Disney kids' movie = ???

Technically, Inkheart came after Bedtime Stories so from that standpoint, it can't be a ripoff unless Inkheart went into production first.

Actually, Inkheart was a book before either movie went into production. So yes, it very well could be a ripoff.

If it were a ripoff, it would be a more obvious connection plot wise, the stories don't litterally come to life like they do in Inkheart, they just happen realistically and he doesn't ready books for the stories.

It would be hard to tell if bedtime stories was a rip-off if there wasn't a book of it because inkheart could have begun production sooner, but bedtime stories could come out sooner giving the impression that inkheart is the rip-off when it's the other way around.

I meant the the MOVIE [Bedtime Stories] was a rip-off of the BOOK, Inkheart. And after ding a bit of digging, I found that production for Bedtime Stories began as early as April 2007 while plans for the Inkheart movie have been made as far back as October 2006. Isn't research exciting? :]

By the way, ya mis-read my post. I'm not trying to defend "bedtime stories" at all. I'm actually saying it is a rip-off of the book inkheart.
