Balto 2 : Wolf Quest overview

Overview

We don't really know what decided Universal to do it, but there it is : Balto, one of the less popular animated movie, got a sequel, just like most Disney films.

 Balto 2

It took approximately two years of work, and the Universal Cartoons Studios produced it (they are mostly known for being the animation studios behind the "Land Before Time" series of sequels, logical since the original Land Before Time was also an Amblimation movie.)

This film was intented to the video market (no theaters release, that's what we call a Direct-To-Video), and it was also aired before its release on a famous american channel, Cartoon Networks. The story follows the one in the original, several months after the diphteria disease. The complete title is Balto 2 : Wolf Quest.

Obviously, this sequel is far from being excellent like the first one, but it still has some qualities, especially for a DTV release. However, read my opinion on the film in the section "Review" for more information.

The film was released at the beginning of 2002 in the United States.

honestly i still cannot get enough of the first balto movie (more than likely because ive only seen it three time and am crrently trying to purchase the movie itself) i like the idea in the second movie of one person trying to find out who they really are so that at least gets a thumbs up from me, wings of change on the other hand i must raise and eyebrow due to the fact that the producers had feedback from the second so they wouldn't rush and make the same mistakes like the second on the thrid movie

I was inspired by Balto one's animation and the plot. But the other two...they were a little disappointing. The second movie had an average plot, but they should've put more effort into both the animating and plot. The third was the worst. They degraded. I was originally excited when i found out there were squeals to Balto, it was a good OVERALL idea. With the next generation and all. But...as i said, i was disappointed.

Sorry guys but...Balto 1 was the best of all. If it wasn't for the first Balto, there wouldn't be a Wolf Quest or Wings of Change. I wish that they had put much effort into making the sequels. Like I said in Wings of Change, it looked more like if they tried rushing the project to beat a deadline instead of making a effort to make the movie look more legit. In Wolf Quest, their design looks stiff and box like.

Sorry, but it isn't. The first film did have quality, like Brown said, the animators of Wolf Quest were lazy. Niju looked like a cat.

The animation is better in Wolf Quest than in Balto 1? I really don't think so. Wolf Quest's animators were incredibly lazy, even if they were on a short budget. (Short budget sounds like an excuse, even if it is true.) At least in the first film the animation had quality.

"I really hope she will come back to her family to Balto, Jenna and Kodi (in Balto 4 or an other movie

I really do get tired of stressing this. There will never be a Balto 4. Never. The third film didn't do well. The animation studio was also shutdown.
