So here it is, 2010...Wow. How time flies. I really didn't see the 2000 years pass (but that's also due to the fact there haven't been as many good things happening compared to the 80's and 90's, be it movies, video games or anything...or bad world situation, economical or ecological...but I digress)

Here at Animation Source, I have many things to work on; although the most urgent is probably to organize the sites maintenance, especially for the new sites. If there's nothing new, I can't expect people to visit the sites regularly, right?

There needs to be very regular updates on each site, and for that I will need help. (Hence the contest I posted earlier.) Actually there are so many things to do on a site that it's difficult to divide the work and think of something that will work, but I'm working on it.

Also, I think it's a shame that many "new" contents are overlooked, articles for example. Part of the reason no one checks them is because there's nothing to indicate when something new is posted. (except for the "what's new" part, but it doesn't last very long there, especially on Balto Source where it's updated daily)
I'll change that (see the "new" next to articles on BS) It's not automated yet, but will be...The same way it works for topics on the forums.

You'll notice that I have also added the possibility for mods and the authors to edit their articles directly on the article page (side effect : it also works on fanarts and images!) This is because I plan on selecting the best work sent, and "rewrite / improve" them.)

And to finish, for once, I'll unveil some of the things I have planned to do (but when, I don't know myself!)

- Adding possibility to connect with Facebook or OpenID for registering "directly"
- A bit different : allowing anonymous posts on the site on specific parts
- Managing / Assigning different tasks to each moderators
- Get back the RSS/Atom feeds running on the site
- Newsletters and reminders by email
- Adding a "bug report" section (and correcting remaining bugs...)
- Adding an "interview" section
- Adding a "reviews" section
- Adding (back) games
- Adding a real "members" section (missing since the very start...)
- Improving site webranking : adding descriptions on screenshots, getting backlinks by finding ways to "push" visitors to add them, adding partnerships with other sites...
- Reworking the banning / warning system on the site
- Translating the sites into other languages
- Using automatic translations for messages posted in other languages
- SMS automatic detection and removal
- Switch to a new server
- Adding specific rules to each site
- Creating styles on the forums, just like it works on the site
- Of course, adding new sites
- Get back the things that have been lost in the "Animation Source" transition : "10 most popular fanfics", random page, ...
- Adding more social aspects to the site, improving the "friend list"
- Finally delivering the "Balto Special Edition DVD" petition?
- Managing Talespin Source and participating to the Talespin Virtual Season project
...

And a lot more I haven't listed...

As you can see, I don't miss ideas...Only time :)
