Story: Being a single cub, Olauk recieved all the love and care a cub could ever ask for. Her life was average, taking long naps with her Mama, hunting for small prey and berries, and going for swims. Even with an average life, Olauk was happy.
As she started to grow, her and her mother spent many hours going on long walks. Olauk studied her mother's movement closely and learned all the tricks to survival. Her goal in life was to grow and be a successful parent just like her mother. Even after Olauk nearly became of age to leave her mother, she spent plenty of time with her.
Soon her wonderful life soared downhill. One evening while out with her mother, danger roamed in the opening. With her mother being instinctively protective, she went out to scare the danger away. As Olauk fearfully watched as her mother took on a wolf mix, another canine began to take her out. Outnumbered, Olauk feared for her mother's safety until she watched as Omah managed to push the dog away and go after the wolf. Unfortunately the wolf mix had tricked her mother into walking on thin ice, sending them both plummeting into the bitter cold waters of Nome. While the Wolf mix managed to somehow escape with his companions, Olauk's mother never returned.
Permanently scarred by the scene of her mother's death, Olauk swore on her mother's death to protect bears, cubs, and families from the danger of canines. Any canid that comes into her view will be chased off until it can't be seen. Any canid coming into contact with a bear family will be mauled on the spot. Never again will she let another bear die in the paws of a canid.
