Well, the descriptions says all. So, let's cut to the chase, shall we? Keep in mind that this is my first ever article, so please be so kind as to not be rude. Also forgive me for not seeing any of the films in a long time.

 First off, I believe that the two are one because I don't think white wolves are very common, even in animations. Now, I'm no wolf expert, that's just what I believe. My belief is based on genetics, and from what I've learned there, the darker the gene, the more likely it will show in an animal or human. Anyway, point is that it is more likely than not ( to me, anyway) that white wolves aren't just found anywhere.

 Secondly, I know that we are all familiar with the scene where Balto is hurt and the wolf comes, and the one where a white wolf ( Aniu) appears in Balto 2. I'm just asking, why on earth would some random white wolf come to Balto's aid ( in Balto 1) if the wolf didn't know him? I know that most people would be more willing to help someone they know rather than some total stranger.

  Also, I've heard things about the difference in appearance of Aniu in the two films. Ever heard of mistakes in animation? I mean, maybe the new people didn't like the way she looked, so they scratched that out and drew on some new features.

well, yes Aniu IS the white wolf, the producer for balto 2 stated that it was intended despite what fans will tell you. here is the link: http://www.animationsource.org [...] weinstein-interview-t4503.html character design changed a lot in the 2nd movie, many users will use that as an argument to say that she is not, but yes, she is indeed the white wolf.

Iditarod and catwhohas14tails can you please stop complaining about how many times this subject is reviewed? Everyone has their own opinion and they want to express it. That's what posting articles is for. If you don't want to read another article about this subject you don't have to. And if I were you I would listen to Phil Weinstein the PRODUCER of the Balto films..... ANIU AND THE WHITE WOLF ARE THE SAME!!!!!!

Cat has a point - I'd rather take the producers of Balto 1's side because of their motives. And Emmajudy, if "different styles" means less quality (which indeed it does in this case), then I'd rather take the view the original artists who didn't have a "different style" at that point.

They weren't endangered in the 1920's Besides, who would you rather believe? The people who made the first movie (who wanted that wolf to have symbolic meaning)? Or would you rather trust the people who were forced into making an unnecessary sequel to a movie they hadn't even seen? I already know the answer, which is why a 454th article on the SAME SUBJECT is pointless and doesn't contribute a darn thing to this site.

Good article!! and for all of you that STILL think they are not the same check out steets article about his interveiw with Phil Weinstein!!! and catwhohas14tails it is true that artic wolves are often white wolves but artic wolves are ENDANGERED so they are still rare.... and iditarod they had different artists that probably had different styles. and again Great article baltofan1212!!!

I don't believe that they are the same...I've felt that I had to post this numerous times on numerous topics...ah well. I've got one word to say, and that word is SYMBOLISM.
